The Happy Buddha Recipe: imagine a boozy, matcha milkshake that kinda tastes like those Korean Melon Bar desserts. this is the “alleged” recipe from Hop Sing Laundromat, a speakeasy based in Philadelphia. if you have ceremonial grade matcha, that will be perfect for this drink. amp up the matcha as much as possible to get those earthy notes. matcha concentrate: 1.5 to 2 tsp - matcha 79C water bloom, whisk, and use as little water as possible to make 0.5 oz recipe: 1 oz - licor 43 0.5 oz - matcha concentrate 3/4 oz - heavy cream 0.5 oz - vodka (i used haku vodka) 1 - egg white method dry shake wet shake (with ice) express orange before pouring into the glass
Hold your hand at an angle so that the webbing between your thumb and forefinger serves as support for the underside of the glass. It’ll warm the cocktail up quicker but prevents shaky spillage for those first couple sips. That particular glass is elegantly designed though, you’d be surprised at how much better glasses like that feel in the hand.
Love to see the cocktail content! Almost making me want to join in the party! Word of advice from a bartender to a bartender: Egg white cocktails, take the spring off of your strainer and throw it in the shaker during your dry shake! So much more volume!
@@cristineb8702 I would recommend a more closed top strainer (dunno the terminology but they’re springless, to fit unorthodox shapes of vessels) and they actually work better in my experience. The last thing you want is ice slipping in to the beverage and separating the emulsion!

(The kind that normally comes with a bartending kit of accessories.) I don’t know of any other kind but thank you for the suggestion. :)
