Is that floating thing like bait? When we fish we would find them in the net with a large hook…..sometimes with a medal thing like large oval thing……but I k ow nothing about fishing with a fishing rod. Only net. But when the kings come over that horn and hit the deck as big as they can get is so exciting.
Like you said, weird year. Record number of fish returning, but the areas are open only a few days. Looks like a great day on the water. Was this in June or July? Good luck at Brewster.
This was just 4-5 days ago. Not sure what is going on Bill. I try to support wdfw as much as I can but sometimes they make it hard. Are you fishing Sockeye this year Bill?
Are they record numbers or record forecast? Out of west port a few weeks ago the fishing was phenomenal. However, there are next to 0 kings in the nisqually river still. The run is shockingly late and every DFW person I have talked to is blasted as well. Thoughts?
@@iankessler2533 I am not a fish biologist, but here is my take. The forecast was low, the returns have been great and much better than recent years. I have not seen chinook fishing in MA-11 this good, in years. I am not sure why they haven't seen fish in the Nisqually, but this is following a trend of recent years. The anglers I have spoken with that fish MA-13 have done well this year, but WDFW has closed it because they are not getting the results expected. Also, I wonder if the net pens the GH PSA club has been operating for 3 years hasn't had a positive result with the returns this year in MA-11.
You two nailed it!
Nice fish! 👍
Thanks.
Looks like ol boots has that south sound dialed! Nice fish!
He definitely does. I learn something from him every time I fish with him.
