There needs to be a consolidation of Chinese new energy brands, there are simply too many. The provincial governments ongoing support of these brands located within their territory as a form of public works and local employment has become unsustainable 😮

This has been the refrain for roughly 20 years, but it still hasn't happened. With the government's continued vocal support of developing China's NEV market, and especially for exporting those NEVs abroad, I doubt any major consolidation is incoming.

The forced consolidation would be a intervention that would do more harm than good for the industry. The market will make the market work, those who can make cheaper car and make a profit will survive.

Hiphi is probably the coolest EV brand EVER, will be very sad to see them go away like this

My answer is "no one", because every major Chinese EV makers are create their special EV brands and models (such as Zeekr, Yangwang or Aion Hyper), so they have no need to acquire the HiPhi.

CNBC is a terrible channel when it comes to documentary, in my opinion. Their documentaries are videos just for sake of making some videos.

HiPhi should be saved as R&D because of it's innovative, exotic designs & functions w/c could be used by other assemblers.

Can't the interested companies just wait until they go bankrupt and get their intellectual property rights almost for free?

The obvious answer is China, but you might be able to find some of the very few cars that they sold abroad in places like Norway and Germany.

Hiphi makes the EV too fancy and complicated. It's not going to be reliable.
