I bought one this week. Got comfortable and shot my league last night. My 2nd NFAA scoring round. 285/24x. A personal best! I finally started to get what Joel teaches. I spent some time with him in 23. I found it hard to apply with my target panic. Somehow, this process calmed my shot. True improvement recognized!! 👏
The trigger on the Solex Clicker is a lot lighter than I can make my original Solex. The click is more of a tactile event than a loud click like the thumb releases. The distance to the click is on a rotating lobe I think, kind of hard to determine minimum or maximum travel without holding the trigger forward and slowly rotating the adjustment. It's like finding TDC in an engine. Going to go shoot league this week with it after putting ~10 arrows down range during practice. Feels really good, I'm sure you can adjust the travel, shorten it and remove the click if you wanted. Bodie's interview with Greg Poole mentioned him threatening to show up to Rushmore with this.
That’s why I started using the Scott verge when I had issues with my wrist and hand due to carpel tunnel. Get my preload right each time hit that click then start pulling through. Debating if I want to go back to an index again May pick this up.
Awesome stuff! I just picked up an Onnex Trigger as a backup to my Onnex Click. I did contemplate on getting the Solex Clicker as a backup but I won't have enough time to put in reps with a wrist release before my hunt. But I'll be damn sure to get one after. Price point is solid especially after the discount code on Podium Archer is fricken awesome! Mahalos MFJJ and Tim!
Stan makes some awesome gear, I can't wait to get one of these, I love my Onnex C, so this will be really awesome, Sheesh, when I called them I got a busy signal hahahah. Fun stuff brother. Keep up the great work. Dale
I purchased one and tried it. I’m coming from shooting an eva Shockey trufire. Firstly the strap is way too big for a “one size fits all.” I am a woman with smaller wrist. Even on the first hole it is very loose on me. I think Stan should come up with 2 different sizes for the strap. That would be a great marketing point because basically no other brands have that option. I purchased a smaller strap (different brand) that I will have to screw onto the webbing. The release itself is amazing! I shoot a hair trigger. It is very much that but able to be adjusted down. I was worried about the click being too loud to hunt with but it’s actually very quiet. The click allows me to mentally prepare for the release. Sometimes I find myself taking forever to aim and not being satisfied enough to start squeezing off the shot. Not sure if that would be considered target panic but this release just cured that!
Went back n forth for a few years on hinge and had a awesome sx3. But last 10 years I still use my lil goose which was never broke. Maybe I'll have to give the Stan a try soon. Keep an open mind but that goose is so reliable
How about you do a comparison between the Stan and the Scott Verge hybrid wrist release. I believe the Verge was the first wrist strap release designed with a clicker like we see in most hinge releases.
I use a Nock On backstrap release which I like very much but I do want to try one of these releases because I think the clicker feature could be beneficial
I’m using a TruBall wrist strap release. And I’m new to archery so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Do you have to get your d loop adjusted if you were to switch to another wrist strap release?
Mfjj - I have been shooting the scott verge index wrist release for 2 years now and getting worn out. And looking for new release. If you have not reviewed that one before can you please compare it to this release you just unboxed. It is the same as this release. Don't remember the price I paid.
Learned on a oneex resistance release and I think i'm going to stick with it now that i'm used to it. I would like to try this though, is the point of the click to then begin pulling to the rear VS pulling the trigger with your finger?
Can you guys shut that clicker off? We have to put silencing recurve shelf felt on our releases up here or they hear metal against leather when we draw, let alone a click?
It's so funny your saying about probably not having a better anchor point with a wrist strap. Because about a year and a half ago I switched to a thumb release. A Stan onyx, I went from a spot hog wise guy and I thought I shot all right but I guess over the last year and a half I know that I haven't been as consistent and just didn't feel that bad there it is so I finally went back to my spot hog wise guy yesterday before I seen any of this lol and I am already shooting way better than I ever was with my thumb release, well more consistent and my anchor point I believe is also more consistent like you said. It just feels right. So all that is true in my eyes. Thanks for this video as always.
I had the same experience. Shot well with cheap index, swapped to a handheld because it’s “better”. Tried an index again and haven’t gone back to a handheld.
I really like the idea of the STAN SoleX index finger release and now the clicker version. The challenge is I prefer the CM version for consistency, in no chance of the webbing stretching in humid climates or tearing due Murphy's Law. The issue is the CM does not have an adjustable length, so I can't shorten it to the second knuckle of the finger, it has to stay out on the fingertip... #StanMakeAnAjustableLengthSoleXClickerVersion
I shoot a 15 year old tru ball caliper finger release and would never try anything else. These look great for anyone switching though and what pants are they? Do you sell on your site?
It can depending on how you anchor with each release and how long the neck of the thumb trigger you are shooting. You might have to go 1/2" on DL either way to get the feel you want. Sometimes all you need is the peep moved. Some guys can shoot the same peep height but I'm not one of them.
Maybe I’m missing something but why do companies still use wrist straps that stretch with use and are difficult to fumble with when it’s cold out and fingers are frozen vs a boa strap that cinches tight every time? Also how loud is the click? Don’t you run the risk of scaring the animal? Just curious.
I don’t really understand making the shot process more complicated by adding an additional step or click. There’s a good chance in a few years we will look back on this as a gimmick. People can do whatever they want though, that’s what makes this country great. 😂
Damn you Josh and Tim. Here I am about to upgrade and buy the Stan Solex. And here you come with this new Solex clicker review. … “So the first thing I do is call my pro shop up here in Alberta and ask when this will be available. They inform me that they wont bringing them in…. So here I am. Take my money josh.” But please don’t review anymore awesome gear for the next two weeks would be nice. 😆
I don’t get why someone would want a click, to me it is a distraction. I have never shot any weapon system with a audible sound before it sends a round down range from a BB air rifle to state of the art M1A1 Abrams main battle tank. Personally I want no travel next to no tension/pressure and it goes off. Back tension is controlled by the strap on the wrist and the finger controls the trigger independently yes I’am a command shooter. People complain about triggers on firearms all the time, too much travel and too much poundage to break the trigger
I literally live 5 minutes from Stans company. I wish they had a showroom or a test room. I have to travel 35 minutes to a shop to try a Stan release and they usually either dont carry the highend or refuse to open 1 to try it out.
My man hangs around Joel and all of you and nobody has fixed his draw length? Get that man some leverage. After all you do preach short d loop and longer DL which is mind blowing left field bad info.
@ lol …. Not quite but yeah sometimes I would blow roght through it . . Got to where the click just stopped my process and kinda gave me a startle. From my almost year using it, I really think it is not going to work out for people. I see some good shooters who should be using it , not using it in big tournaments
@tonyviers-de9qi I'm definitely not an expert. I say that because I know that's how it was for me. I use it for accountability. If I don't hear that click I punched it plain and simple. I can understand the click being a trigger point which would become a new problem. Luckily that hasn't happened to me yet.
Tim c starting to look like Ron Jeremy.
He told me they were related
You talking bout my cousin Ronny?
Lol..that guy is the Goat.
@@TimConnor13 I just noticed in another video you had a certain glow about you. A swank if you will. Stay classy Tim.
Wasn’t he a r&p!st
Love it thank you for the review. Also thank you for shooting a Darton in the video.

I ordered one from Lancaster and I've been playing with it since Wednesday. It's the first wrist strap release I've owned in 10 years and I LOVE IT!
I started shooting Scott verge which is index with clicker but has some downsides but sounds like stan has fixed them!!
Love my STAN xtinction 2. Heard they have failures but Ive been lucky. Was looking at the solex but now I think I will give the solex clicker a try!
That’s why I started using the Scott verge when I had issues with my wrist and hand due to carpel tunnel. Get my preload right each time hit that click then start pulling through. Debating if I want to go back to an index again May pick this up.
Just ordered this. I am VERY excited to experience the click to settle my brain.

I agree with you on the strap who they make these things for Hulk had to put an extra hole in mine
Probs clicks early due to Tim’s process. The way he adjusts his trigger finger on the release multiple times.
Mine will be here Saturday, can’t wait!
I wonder if Josh's head would explode if he found out the angry hardcore Irish rapper he was referring to is a big time Lib.
Just bought one earlier this week at Nashville North.
We shall see if my shop has one when I go pick my bow back up. I like the idea of a click while shooting and I wanna keep my index release
I bought the non click at the beginning of this season and I doubt I’ll ever shoot another release. Might need to try the click
Went back n forth for a few years on hinge and had a awesome sx3. But last 10 years I still use my lil goose which was never broke. Maybe I'll have to give the Stan a try soon. Keep an open mind but that goose is so reliable
Already bought one, I don't get along with thumb buttons long term. Digging it so far👌
Camera man huffing and puffing worse than me 😂😂😂
Sounds like an old bulldog that just went up some porch steps.
I need to get my hands on one!
Scott Jaws has travel and tension. I love the Stan thumb clicker. I will be owning one of these soon 🎯
I got the solex last year, and now I need a to get a new one!! 😂😂The best wrist strap release I've ever shot.
When does one go with the barreled CM version vs the web strap?
This will be on my wrist before spring.
When are we going to see a review on the bowtech virtue. I'm waiting for your review before I decide to buy one.
Does the ridged release fold back and stay out of the way while hunting like the spot hogg?
Can you adjust travel before and after click ?
Currently shooting b3 hawk web strap this is intriguing
Can we get a “MFJJ Cribs” videos on the trailer Tim is living in out back?
If u got any connections with Scott releases u should tell them to bring back the handheld index release best release ever made in my opinion
I use the original . Will definitely get one of those.
I came from a backstrap. The great thing about that is that you can put the stan head on the backstrap strap. Makes it that much better.
I was just researching this last night and was thinking when will MFJJ make a video!
I shoot the Scott Verge. This looks much more hunter friendly! Can't wait to try it!
what's hunter "unfriendly " about the verge? I've had no problem hunting with mine for 2 years and 4 deer now.
@@justinjackson6696 the trigger is much bigger than it needs to be.
How do you like the Verge for 3D?
@mathiasmair776 It works really well for 3D. It was my go to release for bowhunter class. For open, I ran the Stan clicker thumb button.
Everything about this release except the re-cocking is intriguing. I found it awkward and timely. But I am still shooting my old XT that auto resets.
I’m using a TruBall wrist strap release. And I’m new to archery so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Do you have to get your d loop adjusted if you were to switch to another wrist strap release?

Josh Jones you need to do a review of the new Carter ppt release
I don't get it. But im also not very bright. You squeeze the trigger until it clicks and then keep tension until it goes off?
Been looking at upgrading my index release, is the click function better than the double sear on the Scott S2?
Learned on a oneex resistance release and I think i'm going to stick with it now that i'm used to it. I would like to try this though, is the point of the click to then begin pulling to the rear VS pulling the trigger with your finger?
How long before u get cm model in-stock want one but hate the dangling web connection
I've gone away from buckles, now use boa and velcro straps with web strap to the release.
Can you guys shut that clicker off? We have to put silencing recurve shelf felt on our releases up here or they hear metal against leather when we draw, let alone a click?
it’s not loud enough for a deer to hear

Great vid. What flannel you running there?
What’s the purpose of a click in a thumb or index release? What problem is it fixing?
I shoot a 15 year old tru ball caliper finger release and would never try anything else. These look great for anyone switching though and what pants are they? Do you sell on your site?
Is this a back tension?
Carter wrist straps are adjustable for both also
Hey JJ what stabilizer is that you run on your Mathews?
podium narrow
I have a skinny hand/ wrist. I put the release on a BOA cause that strap was cutting in to the back of my hand
would switching from a thumb release to the wrist strap possibly change the draw length?
I have the same question
It can depending on how you anchor with each release and how long the neck of the thumb trigger you are shooting. You might have to go 1/2" on DL either way to get the feel you want. Sometimes all you need is the peep moved. Some guys can shoot the same peep height but I'm not one of them.
Ol Timmy put on some weight this winter 😂
I like my Scotts talon I'm able to make it short and the trigger is close to the front
Maybe I’m missing something but why do companies still use wrist straps that stretch with use and are difficult to fumble with when it’s cold out and fingers are frozen vs a boa strap that cinches tight every time? It needs to have click poundage adjustment to be useful!
Someone’s heavy breathing throughout 😂
Totally off subject but I would like to hear Mfjj's opinion on overdraws.
I still like my WiseGuy :)
Damn you Josh and Tim. Here I am about to upgrade and buy the Stan Solex. Scott verge has had a click tho.
Hey MF JJ, is there any chance that you will be shipping to international in the future?
It gives me the yips watching him finger that trigger 😂😂😂
I mean am I going to jump a deer at 30 yards with my release?
“TIMMY!”
I was in the trigger at the end of my extended finger guy before y’all enlightened me.
I don’t get why someone would want a click, to me it is a distraction. Micah from garand thumb vibes
Tim got a pillow under his shirt?
Similar concept to 2 stage trigger?!?!
Mines in commmming Ron Jeremy
Why is he wearing tights?
So I’ve never asked this when you talk about the Title and how wide the limbs are and say it’s very forgiving what do you mean by that
Eh. Or a thumb release that never moves because a wrist release stretches and moves.
I literally live 5 minutes from Stans company. I wish they had a showroom or a test room. I have to travel 35 minutes to a shop to try a Stan release and they usually either dont carry the highend or refuse to open 1 to try it out.
How much caffeine did mfjj consume before this video? 😂 that release looks fun
9:26 🤔
Tim "Mario" Connor.
He’s shooting mathews
My man hangs around Joel and all of you and nobody has fixed his draw length? Get that man some leverage.
After all you do preach short d loop and longer DL which is mind blowing left field bad info.
I’m really sorry . But the click is an idea that has the opposite effect. From experience, i can say this . Click is no bueno
I'm not sorry. If you tried one I bet you punch it so hard you wouldn't hear a click.
@ lol …. Not quite but yeah sometimes I would blow roght through it . . Got to where the click just stopped my process and kinda gave me a startle. @ i got to a point where I was commanding after the click.
Trying to hear the click, but SOMEBODY won't stop talking while his guest is shooting.
Camera man... stop breathing so close to the camera. When you edit wear a pair of headphones and you'll pick up on it.
I'm changing my underwear. Who cares!
