29:50 Oh yeah, there is always one. When I was getting a runby out of Lawrence, KS, this lady was standing a few feet from me, saw my camera where I placed, and even said hello. And SHE STILL WALKED IN FRONT OF IT as 4014 was rolling by. Like UUUUUGGGGHHHHH 😂
It's a sad thing that Steam Engines can't be more powerful without destroying our atmisfere, so they don't have to go away. I love watching the steam Trains run. That includes those that are for riding on like those in Train Museums.
The one thing I loved the most that 4014 did for this outing in 2021? Sporting of course brand new Cylinder Covers on it. ^^ Which if you ask me... they do look so noice on the Big Boy. :)
37:21 sadly this scene is now but a memory as of November 2022 Tower 55 was demolished just like Tower 60 before it even though the tower is gone it will still be referred to on the timetable as Tower 55
@@Texasrailfan89 for the last two years before the tower was demolished I was given the opportunity to take pictures of it close-up as I rode on Amtrak trains 21 and 22 the Texas Eagle as I crossed the diamonds I took good photos of the Tower and even the site of the tower after it was demolished it’s surprising that the solar plate was the only thing that didn’t get removed
I wanted to see if Big Boy really kinda went in 2 directions when it ran around a corner. You showed the 4014 Train in Navasota. I looked to see if it really did. I wish you'd make a video about how the Magnificent Train actually works. I always loved Trains. From the Trains in New Your, and New Jersey. I expect to watch this, and other Train Videos more than once, and I'm wanting to also see that articulation you said went around curves. I play Pixel Federation's "Train Station 2, and other Train Games, but many are designed to empty pockets of many like myself. Thanks Again for the great history video of the Big Boy 4014, and I'm looking for more like it. Godspeed, and Good Luck, and thanks for the great job. BTW (BY-THE-WAY): I don't have, can't afford home Internet, so I watch these videos on my BLU PRODUCTS G9 PRO CELLPHONE WITH ANDROID 10. Thanks Again.
Dear Fellow Americans, The Men that restored these two beautiful locomotives did it on volunteer hours after a regular shift at the Locomotive Repair Shop. These cars and locomotives are signs of American Greatness. Please remember that this is the Attitude that made America # 1…..
I was there at the telge road railroad crossing. At 59:00 2 years ago in August of 2021. The second I saw the Union Pacific 4014 in person. Also I found myself in the video.
20 feet away says someone and that lady walks closer to the tracks 😂. It is great to see old iron like this still operating. I wish they would come to NC in the future.
I find this very interesting. When I saw the UP big boy in North Platte this year I didn’t see the chalk that said Big Boy with the V under it. Makes me think 🤔
Hey Railway Productions I have a question for you have you heard about this year tour and I will see 4014 in Roseville when it arrives but I’m being patient for the schedule to be announced for the tour to start.
That is the problem with UP steam, there are too many non railfans out and then sometimes that makes other railfans have to really cut around other fans for a shot. which in turn means no one has a nice clean shot. But at times (like when it arrives somewhere) it can make for a really cool scene.
Those auxiliary water tenders were not steam locomotive tenders. They are fuel cars (tenders) from the UP gas turbine engines built in the 1950's and 60's. They were called the "Big Blows" and were all retired by 1970.
You forgot another reason why there's the diesel Because there's not as many places to stop to refuel I only know that because of another video talking about the 4014 But to be honest, I would prefer to see them build a diesel that doesn't look like one. So it looks like 40 14 is moving on its own to make it look better with no diesel behind it

An old train.

I needed all three on my Nostalgia Bingo card.
4014 and 844 together is a vibe
21:58 And don’t forget, The auxiliary tenders were named after 2 members involved with the steam program notably in the 90s. (Or so I was told)

Happy Union Pacific still runs this program. Most companies only care about money and wouldn't preserve historic relics in operation. Thank you UP 🎉
