    Thanks for taking the time to post. Cool stuff. Just an FYI to people reading this thread. if you get an NB code try yo simply unplug the machine, wait 3 minutes and plug it back in. Equivalent of a PC reboot. Worked for me. If this simple little effort activity doesn't work, I'd move on to Steve's helpful advise

    Thanks for this video! A suggestion to people that have this issue like myself, replace both connectors and try to give it a little slack even if only one was bad. I replaced only one, and the other connector failed shortly after.

    Thank you, saved me hours of trouble shooting. This was my exact problem. I was able to put a new connector on it without removing the drain pump. I actually soldered my connectors so it would have less of a chance of repeating history.

    They actually sell new upgraded springs for these washers which, so far on mine, has eliminated the tub going out of balance. If it is out of warranty and eligible for the 'exploding' top retrofit then you will get an extra year warranty for it. Call and complain. You will get those springs/dampers replaced free of charge.

    You might find there are 2 problems that need to be corrected. I had similar problems with my 2011 model. Finally Samsung came out and installed a pump relocation kit. That needs to be done because the drum will eventually always get out of balance and the wires will get ripped off over and over again. #2, you may start getting the DC out of balance error after a few years, to fix that you can extra padding around the top of the drum as the old padding gets squashed down near the top, you have to remove the top cover to fix that. There is also a recall out there to fix major safety issues with this machine, but it does not fix the out of balance issue which is the root of all these problems. Doesn't take a mechanical engineer to figure it out.

    On my washer when the water pump was not funtions, water still inside the washer. The display showed up the error code : nd (Your washer is not draining. It can also mean that the unit senses a small clog while draining). Found the broken both connections to the water pump unit. 1st step is unplug the AC and turn off both hot and cold inlet water valves.2nd step check the outlet hose by lower the hose to the 5 inches bucket (mean lower the outlet hose side abouy 10 inches from the washer) inspection the water flow if the water flow fast it will be OK without clog issue. 3rd step check is draining all the water in the washer to external 5 inches bucket repeatedly many times until the washer tube empty. 4th step check is tilting the washer to outlet water hose side about from 30 - 40 degrees angles then using the plastic cup to catch the water still left inside the washer tube until the water has the lowest point as you can. 5th step check is hanging the outlet water hose to the vertical from 15 to higher is better. 6th step check is : use the old blanket to the floor from the left side of the washer then tilting the washer to the blanket on the floor. 7th step check is checking the water pump connectors from the bottom of the washer. I found both connectors on my water pumps were broken. I did use the 5 gallon paint bucket to hold the outlet warter hose for the testing with the external AC wire plug connectors to the water pump and tested. My pump is funtion and pumping the water to the bucket with no issue. After good resulted, I did solder the new connectors and plugged in the water pump. Finally my washer is working great with more issue. I'm happy for the good result and saved the a lot $ for repair it. I can do it and I hope so did you.

    Thanks for the Video. This Helped allot. My Problem was that the actual connector is loose internally on the motor. When in test mode I crawled under there and moved around the Yellow and Black wire and The pump would turn on and off. I replaced the Terminals but it would still turn on and off Intermittenly.. After removing the pump and Testing it with a ohmmeter same thing sometimes I would get a reading and than nothing. I now at least now that the pump is what I need.

    Got this washer back in 2013, nothing but headaches with it. It will spin violently, then stop and give a DC error code.
    Not surprisingly, this model is part of Samsung's possible recall on top-loading washers due to some "exploding." lol. ::sigh:: Going with a damn agitator washer from Maytag or Whirlpool next time. I'd advice others to do the same...

    • @johnlingafelter524
      @johnlingafelter524 7 лет назад

      Every manufacturer has problems like this. The "exploding" thing you heard about is people washing water repellent clothing on normal cycle and not correct cycle. The Recall parts are 2 warning labels. a new label that goes around your selector switch and some hooks installed under the lid to keep the lid from blowing off when someone washes their cloths wrong. There is nothing physically wrong with the machine, its just being miss used. If someone has had the upgrade kit installed and now it doesn't work or drain, call Samsung, they will get someone out there to get it fixed right. Being a Samsung tech and a whirlpool tech both, Samsung is by far a better company when it comes to getting your product serviced.

    I'm having the same issue. Should I remove the drain pump completely before I locate the wires? I was able to tilt the washer so I was able to see underneath but I didn't want water to wet the drain pump. I also tested the drain pump and I can actually hear that it's working while in yet mode. Do you think the incoming voltage is good, since the drain pump turns on? Thanks again for the video.

    Hey Steve. This issue just reared it’s ugly head on my machine. How do I get that lower panel off in the rear to get in under there? It doesn’t have screws as you know. I have a feeling your remedy is the solution to my issue but don’t know where all the wires are located

    How do you reconnect them?

    • @stevemakoskijr8074
      @stevemakoskijr8074  3 года назад +1

      Cut the old contactors off at the pump, strip about a quarter inch of the wire insulation off exposing fresh copper wiring, insert newly exposed wire into your new contactor/connector, there should be a pinhole at the base of the new connector or a thin slot for the new wire, and once the wire is in you crimp/squeeze the metal part onto the wire so it grabs it and won't let go. You can use needle nose pliers or regular pliers for that part.
