What's even better is that there is a bar of soap hidden on every level that deals a shitton of damage, when the game came out some criticised David szymanski because of the high damage.
So he buffed it by making it deal like a 100 million damage.
The soap is a running joke that is also in Ultrakill and Cultic. And in cultic the soap has finally met its match. Bear traps.
There is also bar of soap in ultarkill so dsuk is copying !!!11!!1! Bad !!!!1!!!1!
Ultrakill does this with 2 levels as a nod to dusk and I love it
This is a reference to the lack of baths the player base takes!

i think that's the backstory in the beginning of the game but the further you go in the more DUSKDude learns that the cult also killed his family

This is why I love indie games, they're not afraid to explore into interesting and wacky concepts that triple-a games don't bother with. Not to mention, indie games put a lot more easter eggs and funny stuff to find, definitely trying this soon.

Dusk, Ultrakill and Amid Evil are the holy trinity of the modern era. I also highly recommend Prodeus.

There is an easter egg in another New Blood game, FAITH, that connects it to DUSK through a picture and that series' main villain being in kahoots with the one in Dusk
Also, Ultrakill is Canon to both games because Hell exists in all of them
Dusk is the game that introduced me to New Blood as a whole, and the sole reason I'm into retro-shooters. This game means a lot to me and I'm glad you've enjoyed it as well!

Idk man ULTRAKILL is like my life now. Help I have P ranked every single level and spent 250 hours on that game.
This is by far my favorite fps game ever, the looks, the gameplay, the mechanics are all really good, You just spawn in a level get some weapons and obliterate everything that you see its fucking amazing and dont even get me started on the music Andrew Hulshult really did an amazing job on this one. worthy/10

No online players, no competition, no crappy crates, no shitty battle pass, just shoot things and finish the level.
A complete refreshner from today's fps era.
Big shoutout to Newblood and David Zsymanski, they gave me the thumbs up and encouraged me to complete my Dusk mod for Doom (also known as Doosk)
They even shared my trailers and videos on their official social media, which is a not so common thing to see from most devs.
Honestly the fact that throwing soap deals 1 billion points of damage is worth the price of admission.
2:40 Hearing the plants vs zombies *cromch* at “eat your vegetables” gave me such a serotonin boost that I had to pause the video to do my laundry because my day peaked and I had to ride that wave.
Fun fact: Dusk is also like the best port to switch of all time. Seriously playing it on the Switch if freaking amazing

Foekoe! You missed something awesome but the developer, David Szymanski made Iron Lung. It's a dope horror game that genuinely is awesome and succeeds in giving an unsettling vibe. The guy knows his stuff and you should definitely check that title out.

If you're gonna play DUSK, you should play it like I do - on an old TV, in a dark room, in the middle of the night, on a keyboard that's way too loud to use stealthily. 10/10 game, highly recommend it.

You gotta talk about FAITH. It's one of the few New Blood games that is not a shooter but it does not disappoint as a horror game. It's super good

A cool "Modernized Boomer Shooter" I'd like to highly reccomend is "Prodius"
It takes classic render styles, and makes Enemies, Pickups, and a few other things 2d "sprites" (shader technique), and uses other modern rendering methods to make a really unique art style.
The story is told through text before you start a level, but it's only if you even bother to read it, because this game just throws you in. Sure, there's a story. But only if you bothered reading outside of the game. Gameplay wise, you drop into a level, and try to beat it fighting off Enemies.
Super fun and unique title with a Level creator! You know people have remade the first Doom level several times!

Hey there! Just wanted to let everyone know that even though he praised "New Blood" for the game, they are just the publisher, and the developer behind the game and ideas is David Szymanski. Publishers rarely contribute to the actual development, and while they can be praised for publishing it, Szymanski should be the one getting the most of it. Check out some of his other games too, such as Iron Lung, The Moon Silver, and Fingerbones, they are all really good.

My man really did Doom Eternal dirty. I mean I love the indy scene, I played DUSK completely before I saw this video, and Ultrakill but....c'mon man. Doom Eternal was pretty dope.
The only reason I haven't completed dusk is because one of the levels in episode 3 scared me too much.
