@@LuckayyLucario it make sense though. Big companies are too big to care, as long as it makes them money. Small devs actually have to try because they don't have a hivemind that'll buy their game no matter what.
Can you share some titles too so that people who see this thread may check out the stuff that goes under the radar? Things like Blud, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Genokids, Cookie Cutter, Soulstice, Immortal: And the Death that Follows, My Familiair, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Harold Halibut, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip, The Mermaid's Tongue/The Mermaid Mask, Resistor, Kings of Hell, whatever Moonhood Studio and Amanita Design are cooking up, Decline's Drops, and so many more.

pretty sure lot of the people saying "gaming is dead" is because their favorite game is a game like fortnite or roblox and they are bored about them and dont know what else to play so they just say "yeah gaming is dead guys" either way all these games you showed look good

5:37 I feel it's likely Andrew Hulshult will return to compose for Dark Ages considering he contributed music for the DLC. If that's the case my hopes are high because he's also an amazing composer (made music for Dusk and Amid Evil for instance)

There is also a game releasing tomorrow called “Conscript” which looks absolutely phenomenal. It has a similar artstyle to blasphemous (same studio) but it’s a survival horror game in ww1
steam game i recoomend: the were cleaner, a stealth game about doing your job as kyle the janitor, but he`ll have to deal with his werewolves instincts for his nightshifts
Since you’re talking about metroidvanias I’m surprised you didn’t mention Mio: memories in orbit, when it looks like a mix of rain world and hollow knight.
That game looks really fun. Can’t wait to play it
Cookie Cutter is cool too where Metroidvanias are concerned. Not here to reinvent the wheel, but to be its own thing and a solid time throughout. Not many games set in a colorful sci-fy/cyberpunk dystopia where the inhabitants range from an amorous skeleton robot with an afro to a proper Hindu demon with a mouth on his belly.
Don't forget ENA: Dream BBQ, this will probably be my best game of all time when it finally comes out. The trailer alone is a masterpiece.

A couple games I should mention coming up that I am actually excited for (the last time I was excited for a game release was in 2018 for Into the Breach):
Frostpunk 2 (a sequel to my single favourite game of all time, that actually innovates on the game and takes it in a new direction)
PFKK. It's a game where you control a planteary defence cannon and it really reminds me of Papers, Please.
Also a game that has been released and is stupid fun, but unfortunarely flew under the radar: Splatoon 3. Genuinely one of the best PvP shooters out there. Super neat take on the genre, it's the closest you'll get to a PvP ultrakill.
The doom soundtrack will probably still rock because it's made by andrew hulshult (mainly known for dusk, but also the doom eternal anceint gods dlc)
Its always weird to me how people freak out when they find a great free game,i find those quite often,if anyone wants to know some here

I literally just finished The Big Catch: Tacklebox a couple days ago and I am BEYOND excited for the full release, PEAK PLATFORMER
I can only assume people think,that the industry is falling apart,beacuse big companies don't take such big creative risks anymore and when they don't have an easy trail to follow by looking at what the big publishers are doing and middle-sized studios so often just work as subsidiaries to the same company,but still,there are so many more passionate people out there,that you can't not be excited for what tommorow will bring with it.
You just need to know where to look.

Touhou Devil of Decline was localized and even though I can't afford it yet since I broke as hell rn I can confirm it's indeed the golden age of gaming right now
The quality of the Hades 2 beta is what convinced me that we are in the golden age

On the side of the new dooms music I am fully expecting it to be Andrew Hulshult who does the sound track as he's worked on so many beloved indie boomer shooters like dusk and was also responsible for the Doom Eternal DLC soundtrack.

I had a feeling after watching the Unreal Engine Demonin 2020 I was thinking "Okay, now we wait 4 to 5 years for the developers to finish making their games in this new engine and we can have some TRULY Next Generation titles"
I was half right. Most of the good stuff are Indies. Cat Quest III and YS X Nordics are my most anticipated titles of this year. Gori Cuddly Carnage could be good too. As well as Warhammer 40K Space Marine II.
