- a pov DIY on how to replace a clutch (friction and steel plates) on a 2009-2012 zx6r ninja.
*to slow down video simply lower the playback speed in the settings*
Make sure to soak the plates in new oil a day in advance.
drain all engine oil and replace oil filter with a new one before replacement of the clutch, put new oil for the new clutch after replacement is done.
Tools needed:
17mm wrench
12mm wrench
8mm socket
allen wrenches
3/8 ratchet
pick tool
red & blue lock tightening agent

My 2009 zx6r is doing something weird.
When I downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear it goes into neutral. It's as if it's skipping second gear. My oil in the bike is still fresh and was changed a thousand miles ago. Does this mean I need a new clutch or is it a different issue????

Why would anyone post a video completely sped up to be unwatchable? When you slow down the playback speed, the audio slows down and drags on to where you can't stand listening to it.
Okay the two times speed is not it coach this doesnt help much, ive been told the steels dont matter how they face and is the first and last one only when you are putting the same clutch in? Cause i got an oem kit and all the frictions are the same.
followed step by step i think... but my problem is my clutch cable isnt engaging anymore feels like theres no spring back from the clutch spring, help is much appreciated your video help, i feel like i missed something maybe the last frinction plate wasnt turned or my spring are worn ty for the help.

@colin yea i figured out what was wrong, after putting in the new clutch plates i had to adjust the cable ALOT! idk if that cld be ur problem but yea thats what happend lol
You probably over tightened the springs
How much tooth is missing in timing gear?
Yeah this video is going way too fast for the average person whose never done this before. Granted this is 4 years ago but still. At least you showed it from case cover coming off til putting it back on. But like I said if you made any other videos like this, I hope that you slowed it down a little bit on the video play speed. It’s because your head is moving constantly and a lot of the time the clutch area wasn’t in full view but I appreciate you.
