- For my 1987 Yamaha Tenere, I have an original Ohlin suspension that's already been around the world some 20 years ago. Better get that serviced! But on opening up - it was worse than we thought..

One thing i ❤ so much about Nora is her positive energy always with laughs. Hopefully such is you in real life.
It's fantastic to see that Noraly is back. There's no adventures like her. 🤗🤗🤗
😂
Noraly, you don't know how happy you make an old lady. I was so sad when you got so badly hurt. It is so wonderful to see someone who shows human nature, some bad, but mostly good. You are wonderful. ❤🎉🎉
I’m a 70 year old lady myself and Noraly makes me want to live again! She IS wonderful! 🫶
With all of the special parts from older bikes I worry that when you are in remote areas a brake down may not be easy to get spare parts. On a personal note. So happy to see you smiling and looking like you have recovered well. You are a real treasure and natural beauty. Be safe.
It will be alot easier for parts for that bike vs anything she purchases new. Most of the time she has parts shipped to her so this garage full of parts is a instant back up that would be shipped out on same day for her. That's if the bike breaks down, will be alot more reliable than any bikes she's previously had.
those parts are older, simpler, and both more reliable and easier to fabricate in small workshops than their modern equivalents.
SO wonderful to have you back in our lives, Noraly. Happy Trails to you and Frankie!
Greetings from Scotland! I almost forgot how much better life is with your videos back online, Noraly! Thank you so much!
You can tell how much these guys love what they do!! Amazing craftsmen, beautiful bike!!
Hi Noraly! So nice to see you in the saddle again! ❤The motorcycle is so completely finished, back to Basic. No electronic devices that still break or mess up. As a Swede, it is nice to see that you use the Swedish ÖHLINS advanced suspension systems, absorbers on the Motorcycle. Now just like that, the Italian advanced brake company, Brembo has bought Swedish Öhlins. So what has been Swedish since 1976 has now unfortunately been sold. So longed to see your adventures again. Welcome back! Greetings from Sweden. 😊😍👍💪
It’s amazing that you have been around the world on a little weekeder motorcycle. Poor Alaska. What a beating that little thing took. A real testament to Honda.
It’s amazing to have you back Noraly. Ride on!!
Noraly can bring good cheer to a graveyard if she just passes by. Never seen a person being such an embodiment of good and friendly feelings
100% 😅
Finally! We can all get back to the adventures of Noraly. Looking forward to this season.
I love to see the 'birth' of this tried and tested, back to basics, bike, customization and the skilled work to produce a tailor made fit for Noraly and more epic adventures.
Happy to see you back again.... 🎉 best of luck.. From Bangladesh
I started watching with the crash. So started with the last one, and just finished all the other ones. So perfect timing for season 8 to start! ❤
So great to see you resuming your riding adventures Noraly. Truly wishing you all the best & looking forward to your great posts.
You have two great new friends.
Moritz and Frankie.😊❤
Carburetor important tips., never ignore these.
1. Always have a "paper" fuel line filter in the fuel line that connects to the carburetor. (micro particles are a major issue with the carb fuel needle valve getting stuck). This simple fuel line filter solves this issue completely. Note the fuel filter in the tank is not enough, has to be paper fuel line filter. You have to avoid this for if it gets sticky you will need to reopen the carb to clean it and it will happen again. So this is not optional.
2. unlike Fuel injector, carb is sensitive to bike position, especially when parked. The carb needle may open up if parked slanted overflowing the fuel. So when parked "ALWAYS" turn off the fuel tap. Else you will comeback to find your fuel slowly overflowed to empty.
Keep these in mind.. carb has zero maintenance worry free setup.
This was the comment I was looking for. Wanted to buy an old carb bike but I was always drawn back by the carburetor maintenance and possible issues. I have no experience whatsoever with bike carburetors but I fiddled a bit with car ones.
I always used super fine brass screen filters.
I would also add a carb kit and several spark plugs.
No telling what fuel she will come across.
Unlike fuel injection carburetors do not just to elevation so fouled plugs will be a thing she will have to address.
Also keep a few spare jets and a float in hand.
Fine tuning a carb is an art and riding is a joy when done properly.
Also altitude jet change.
Love the subtle flex on the parallel parking
With Noraly, I travel round the world right from my home 😊. You're so blessed Noraly ❤
One thing that has always been evident, Normally loves challenges. This bike is looking good. Looking forward to the new season of being on the road/dirt, I'm sure that she can't wait either. I love the colors on this new bike, Yamaha's "blue" has always looked great, and is without a doubt my favorite color, with a White, yellow or slice of red ti has always just caught my eye, very nice.
Congratulations Noraly. Good to have you back after many weeks of lay-off.
Sunday afternoon's nowadays: cup of tea, bar of chocolate and watching Noraly preparing Frankie for season 8! Love it!❤
Looking forward to this journey. Safe travels always Noraly!!
I love this bike and the people who customized it for you with so much passion. Hopefully everything works out!
The sound of the bike is just outstanding. Looking forward to see it driven around the world. Be safe!
i am happy you are doing things the smart way and take your time to get to know your bike before the adventures. some would just get off in excitement and come to regret their sudden move. take your time we are just happy to see you and hear you knowing whom we are dealing with as a person. take care and may everything goes great for you Noraly.
My day is complete!
It's so awesome to see you again!!
I'm really liking this behind the scenes look at building Frankie!
There's a lot more to producing Itchy Boots than riding a motorcycle.
Videos like this help us see the whole picture. Wise move including them.
She is creating a purpose built tool. All of her experience is going into this bike. Watching her at work in the forthcoming videos will be something special.
I don’t know ANYTHING about motors or cycles, but this has been so interesting! I love how Moritz is listening to her and customizing her ride! 👏🫶
Nice seeing you Noraly aka Itchy Boots. Enjoy your day
@@fabtastic8988 how do you add this searchable tag on Norlay
These last two shows have been a welcome relief from all the news shows saying there will be no work left for humans very soon. Oh yeah, well, there is never going to be any machine doing this work. So there! Very much enjoying this part of the adventure. Thank you again.
What an amazing experience working on this bike!
Can’t wait to watch your new adventures with the complete Frankie ❤
Love watching the build-up.
I like to here you again with your stories but I like it even better that I can here my old bike again, I loved that motor(sound), it brings back so many good memories.
Exlant video good to see you back again the guys building your bike are awesome thanks for posting
Oh man I know you are loving Frankie already! This time spent in Germany brings back so many memories of the 4 years I lived there, long before you were even born lol. It is amazing to watch a bike built from the frame up! You are probably learning so much which is something I’ve noticed, is another of your passions..learning new things. Such an interesting process…thanks for sharing, Noraly!
I'm really looking forward to the next episodes. Greetings from Africa and I hope you finish it sometime:).
Old motorcycles are a nightmare. We have been running old 2 strokes for over 20 years but ultimately - a motorcycle factory building modern motorcycles with millions of USD spent in R&D makes a difference
I think the idea is to ditch the electronics if and when you break down in third world places.
Don't compare 2strokes to the xt600 lineup. Yamaha put millions into R&D 30 years ago, thus creating reliable machines for ages now.
Most "R&D" today is about saving money in production to maximize profit.
True - but running these old carbureted engines create new challenges. Parts availability is limited if non existent. Many times you need to replace parts with imitation 3rd party parts from China having low reliability. My Yamaha TZM150 with all major systems replaced has almost no electronics on it, but it would be just impossible in Africa. No way to manage when it doesn’t start due to random unknown reasons.
Wow finally here you are again...❤❤❤
Great video -- as always! Salute to you from a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer in the Pacific Northwest, USA!
Finally another episode !😁
Congratulations. And best for coming exciting days ahead.👍👍👍
nice to see you back cant wait till you get going again looking forward to traveling with you
This is great. I was a little bit disappointed when you didn’t go with the new Himalayan, but, I think this makes for a better story. I remember when Yamaha first released the 500 single back in the seventies. Everyone was into the two strokes at the time, so it didn’t get much attention. Now it has outlasted its siblings of that time and evolved, wonderful!
Glad you’re back in the saddle! I pray for your safety and protection! Please be careful out there in your big world!!
It's really cool to follow the whole process of setting up the bike for your trip, Noraly!
Very interesting that you chose an older bike for this adventure.
Cheers from Brazil!
Love the way u represent everything in your video ❤
Happy to see the strongest lady❤❤❤
Marvelous to see this Super Tenere going in serious business again. Nice to know about the technical upgrades for it. (y)
I really appreciate seeing this testing phase and the thinking behind the decisions taken. Fantastic background for the venture to come. Awesome! Regards from Borneo 😊
Happy to see you again❤❤
The section of the video is always interesting, today itchy boots brought us to ohlins experts.
You look so happy with your new bike
Better learn how to disassemble clean and put your carb back together. Would be a good thing to know just in case. Thanks for the videos very interesting. I have watched everyone you have made. Good luck!
That is a good looking bike 😃
Thank You Noraly looking forward to more of Your Amazing Adventure 🙂💙👍
It's good to see you back on the road
Great to see the road of building your new bike.
I'm so happy you're back Noraly. Watching the process of preparing such a classic bike is fun and interesting but I'm champing at the bit to see the next big adventure to begin.
Good afternoon Noraly, from Derbyshire England 😍
Can't wait to see future adventures with this bike!
You had priority at the 3:50 intersection. That red triangle sign indicates that you're on the main road(bold black arrow) which has priority. You can also see that the black car is looking at an upside down triangle, meaning he has to give way to you.
Hello Noraly. Those bags really look great. Best wishes for a successful new season of adventure. Cheers.
Ver nice update on your Ténéré! This is definitely going to be your ‘go to’ anywhere anytime ride! Can’t wait for your next adventure to begin! Ride safe Noraly!
Have really missed these Noraly. Glad you’re back!
Watching your adventures make me so happy! ❤
I love the new bike , it has lots of character and some retro Darkar vibes much love for the engineers nothing beats German engineering.
It’s wonderful to see you so excited again❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bom Dia, Noraly que bom você está de volta essa nova aventura, com essa máquina maravilhosa, Yamaha Ténéré, que saudade, tive uma dessa 600cc é trator viajei muito.
Abraço.
New Hampshire sez: Thanks for the new post! Always on the edge of my seat for an update on the bike. So cool! Thanks for all the details. Yea for me. I traveled to West Virginia for a cb750 (Honda) Nighthawk. Spring this year. Now named "West Virginia.' (here in New Hampshire) The whole vibe is based on your wonderful adventures (with Alaska). By the way. Stay away from NYC with a trailer or a bike. Major moguls on the GW Bridge ~ Hudson River. And so.... Thank you so much for sharing all that you do! Whoo Weee !
Wow... I love the craftmanship of these guys!! Frankie is turning into a very special one off!!!
Well, maybe it’s that 37 year olds often complicate everything in general. So good to see Itchy Boots alerts pop up again! 2.39 M people are hoping you’re well and fit again!
You for sure have found a GOLD mine for your moto build! Not surprising since your a Geochemist! 😊😊You and Frankie are looking Great! 💖🏍💖💖 Oh ,Can't wait for you to begin your season 8 adventure.
Best Wishes from Texas!! 🤩❤🏍🤠
Good luck with a Carb bike for your adventures, you will hate it. They are terrible for elevation changes, be prepared to re-jet for high altitudes. And when you drop it, it will easily flood. 90% of the electronics I can do without, but fuel injection is the best thing to ever happen to motorcycles.
Electric start was the best thing to happen to motorcycles imo.
Disc brakes 2nd,
Injection 3rd 😜
When a new YT video is ending with a lucky and smiling Noraly, I`m also smiling and confident for your next big adventure ... 👍
Can't wait to see you going on your new adventure with this bike, these guy's are great building a fantastic bike. Groetjes.
im happy to see u again with riding
Your videos are a real quintessence of quality and talent. Thank you for your inspiration!🪀🦾🚚
Glad you are back ,
Very enjoyable video! The folks at the shop are outstanding as well! I love how they are working with you on the options. I don’t know why I like the old cable speedometers best. I need what you are using for your GPS and now a app for the speedometer. I agree with you about electronics! When you get to the mountains you will need to change jets on that carburetor. I hope they will teach that to you! Outstanding, your modifications!
The Orange looks great gives Frankie some class, how awesome having all these mechanical experts at ur service, this bike will be the latest and greatest adventure dual sport ever, better copyright the mods Noraly, or better still let everyone get the chance to have such an incredible machine. 🇦🇺👍💯
Watching from the north of Thailand. Loving the new series so far :)
can't wait to watch your next journey
I am so excited for the next adventure!!
Well done love your positive outlook on life
Wow, superb. All the best
Holaaa!.Noraly, soy Juan de Chile, feliz de tu regreso, largo tiempo sin tus geniales videos, que esta aventura sea súper. Te envío un abrazo gigante ❤. Saludos.
hello Noraly, the collar bone break scar looks nicely healed. Pray tell your breathing is better now. It has been tough for you. Things like an OTB makes us keep our grip and our head up. Take care and stay well 🧤 🤎
Happy you are back, more enjoyable evening’s 👍you go girl❤️
