Since first time i saw one of your videos of iron maiden i enjoy so much of them (Nightwish are my favs) just because the way you enjoy music, you can transmite anything we feel.. keep going rocking and take care!
I always wondered "well, Elizabeth covered so much Nightwish and Epica, why Within Temptation never got a chance?" And finally there it is... Is it a coincidence all 3 bands are lead by 3 amazing Dutch ladies? What's up with the Netherlands... must be the water.
Hi JimmyGGS291, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
Since 1999, each year a Dutch radio station has held a top 2000, where the ranking is decided by popular vote. This year, Ice Queen is in position 159, so yeah even after all these years, it's still very popular in the Netherlands.
And that is one of the rare moments in those 2000 recordings that i have to let go completely and open the volume all the way. I remember hearing this first time like yesterday...absolute classic. I prefer the live version with the metropole btw: ruclips.net/video/D6c85P0F8I0/видео.html
Her voice live is unreal, it's so clean, it goes right through you. Also her charisma is unmatched, crowd goes wild in some songs, in others there's dead scilence. I went to the concert, because my wife is a huge fan and since then I'm a fan too. I have chills everytime I hear "The Promise" or "The heart of everything"
Sharon is self taught singer & she designs & makes all her outfits herself. Yes sews them & all. You want to hear how powerful she can actually sing check out when her & several artists got together on this show where they sing other artists songs. She did "Just when I need Tonight" Also would love to see you react to Gerphil Flores "Somewhere in Time" She has the voice of a Angel sent from heaven above.
Finally, Within Temptation was the band that introduced me to this genre, and later I found out about the Gathering, Epica and ofc Nightwish. Sharon is with ease one of my favourite all time female vocalists.
You should hear "The Howlling" from Within Temptation. It was the first music i've heard from them and got hooked. Greetings from Brazil and keep up this AWESOME job you do here on YT. And congrats for the baby 😊😊
2021 has been quite the year for Elizabeth. She discovered Dio and Deathcore, transformed into a unicorn, and got down with the (morning) sickness, among other things. With all that going on, this frostbitten gem was always lying just out of reach, but no more! I would have preferred the music video with it's gloriously cheesy early 2000's effects, but WT is a great live band, and Ice Queen is there penultimate anthem. Would love to see a reaction to And We Run, as it is a fascinating blend of styles. Interestingly, there is nothing "icy" about Sharon. Everything about her, from her appearance to her voice radiates a lovely, smiley warmth. Reminds me of someone . . .
Yesss, And We Run is so cool. Who would have thought that Symphonic Metal, which is a classical music and metal music crossover would work with such powerful rap music. Also, it seems that Xzibit also has that smiley warmth over him in real life. I guess that is a major influence on why they were able to connect, collaborate and blend their worlds of music so well 😊☀️
Well, it’s about time!! I read today that the album is 21 years old and I remember when it came out 😳 hooked immediately. “Faster” is superb and the unofficial anthem of the Isle of Man TT 😉
Hi Dark Aether, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
Do you know their first ep and album? Enter and the dance! A lot darker, but pure gold! I saw them live the first tim over 20 years ago, saw them 13 times live since then!
Omg I was 12 and it feels like yesterday. I remember a very snowy winter day I walked home from school and this song going on my discman (yepp, it's those times 🤣). It was pure magic, this small memory remained engraved in my mind forever.
Sharon's voice is ear candy. It's so light and sweet, but she can turn it up when she needs too. Not enough people know about this band, and that's a travesty.
Hi Ben, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
Probably the most successful rock band in the Netherlands that most people don't know, cause metal! Although the song was a monster hit in the early 2000's.
@@kirbys1370 yeah I watched it way back when. XD I also wish she'd check out more of Anneke with The Gathering at some point too. Maybe "Nighttime Birds" would be a good starting point.
As usual, the Dutch metal bands are better known outside of the Netherlands. As long as more people like to jump on "Snollebollekes"🤮 instead of enjoying true gifted musicians , it'll stay the same..
For someone who wad basically self taught with vocals, it is impressive the way she sings. Mind you, it hasn't limited her because of it, it helps her make sounds you don't always hear from trained vocalists She has a bachelors degree in fashion and I believe designs all the outfits and stage sets.
It was amazing to see how this song absolutely dominated both voting stages. I'm a fan since 2003 and was lucky to have seen them 3 times since then. My all time favourite song is Mother Earth because those lyrics just speak to me so much. Hoping that the EU tour with Evanescence that was planned for 2020 can finally happen next year. The tickets on the fridge are starting to look like old Egyptian parchments. 😁
Yeah I had tickets as well for April 2020, but had to refund them when they first moved the concerts as they then collided with another vacation. Haven't rebought tickets yet due to the changing dates, but do hope to go to London in April and finally watch that concert.
Wow. I am also a fan since 2003, I also have tickets for that tour that start to look like papyrus. Brother, is that you? :') But I have seen them 4 times if I remember correctly :D
Years ago I had the opportunity to listen to Sharon at a live concert in Mexico... I have to say, it was the first time I was on tears because of someone's singing...
Hi Elizabeth, it's been over a year since your last reaction to Within Temptation, and I'm glad you're reacting to another song/video. Sharon's vocal performance was outstanding as well as the band/orchestra. Overall, this was a great song for the winter season. Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
Sharon is next to a great singer, also a very nice person. She and her family life in my village and she is always friendly. If you want to see another side of her and don't mind hear to some other music styles (I listen to all kinds of music) I suggest: Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon den Adel - In And Out Of Love Two great Dutch artists with a great collaboration. Live performance at the concert I visited: ruclips.net/video/qIk0CjxMn9s/видео.html Official music video of the same song: ruclips.net/video/TxvpctgU_s8/видео.html
The dresses are a signature look for Sharon, she always wears them on stage. This song started on a TV station 'the Box' where viewers could request the songs that were going to be played. This got requested a lot and the band blew up shortly after. Another song that broke through at the same time was Nemo from Nightwish. It is how I discovered both bands at the time.
One of my fav rendition of this song. too pure, too (at least seemingly) relaxed and easy, too perfect in note and pitch, and its variances, that I don't know a better unchained melody can be sung anytime soon. It's like he is doing something as simple as just talking to you but this heart felt beautiful melody comes out. The relaxed and sincere love just fills the atmosphere and reflected on his face the whole time. I don't know which part he could have done better.
Sharon is not just the vocalist, she has as much control of the music as Lzzy Hale does. As a composer and lyricist she is top notch, and that makes her THE Empress. Her vocals may not range too far off soprano but her phrasing is very powerful and sincere, Patsy Cline level. And this is a style of music Elizabeth zharoff and her inevitable Charismatica could do with current skills. Not to ship that too much, could decide to go all Angela Gossow on us too lol.
I remember seeing this band when I stayed in Germany back in 2003. I heard this song for the first time and I fell in love with this band! Thanks for sharing this and giving your pro and entertaining perspective on this amazing performance!
Hi Ramtrill, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
@@kirbys1370 Thanks for the reminer Kirby! I did watch that one as well, but I've been hoping to see her analysis of this specific song pretty much since I started following this channel. Hopefully I can catch the premier.
Omg yes finally! Ice Queen is a song that's ingrained in my brain from the time I still consistently listened to the radio. It got quite some airplay here in Belgium and always made me try (and fail) to sing along
This song honestly still makes me tear up. I couldn't speak/fully understand English when I heard it for the first time but I could "feel" what she was saying. 21 years later, now being 28yo it's still one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. And of course, so much dutch pride for Sharon and the band! Love your content, you are such a lovely person, would love to see you react to more metal/opera/rock music!
Amazing to see WT back on the channel 🤘 Please also check out the song WT did with Tarja: "Paradise"! The live version at Masters of Rock 2019 is awesome, I'm sure you'll love it 😄 PS: Tea time with Sharon would make for a great talk, she's such a sweetheart 😊
I know this band since ‘99. Her voice has grown over the ages and is very beautiful. She has one of the best voices my country has to offer. If you compare their older stuff with their newer stuff, then you will understand what I mean.
I discovered them while in europe in 97 and been a fan every since. Saw them live in 2007 with lacuna coil, stolen babies, in this moment. And again Oct opening for iron maiden
Now i really want to see you covering her Mother Earth, the song which make me know the band and still is my favorite. And i just didn't know until this day that Ice Queen talk about nature. In the true, most of power metal songs of this time from Scandinavia talks about the nature and how much we have to care about it. Just pick Stratovarius songs like Anthem of the world, Paradise, and so much more. Even today is a currently theme in the metal of this genre.
Hi DarkestLost, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
Her voice reminds me of Kate Bush. So it is fitting that there is even an official cover version of them doing Running Up That Hill. You can find the official music video here on YT.
Stand my Ground is brought up so much because it resonates with people. The lyric: that if I don't stand up for myself, no one else will...it is plainly true. Being sang by a female puts it to have even more power.
I remember when I played some Within Temptation for my voice teacher she used that exact word about Sharon's voice - "Pure". her voice is so angelic and ethereal. She's one of my greatest icons.
So the musical terminology you are looking for to describe Within Temptation, they are a metal sub-genre called "Symphonic Metal ". My favorite metal genre btw.

You have to have Sharon Den Adel to Your tea time!!!))) I am A big fan of Queen and Cannibal Corpse but Withinf Temptation - Another Day is a masterpiece, ask her about this song please!!!
Imagine 15 or 20 opera singers, incognito in the audience, answering her singing in the chorus part... That would be just amazing, for people in the audience as much as for the artists on stage ^_^
I actually had the honor of sharing the stage with this band as a support act back in '98 but I have known them from the very start. Love the band to bits! Her voice has become stronger throught the years and that (imho) was necessary but it's not a voice for power singing. The big pro about a voice like this is that it always will come acoss angelic if not forced to hard.
When I told my son I was getting interested in female lead metal bands like Nightwish he pointed me to Within Temptation. Sometimes our kids really do know what they are talking about. LOL. I cannot wait to see Elizabeth's reaction to this gem.
Hi papasan G, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
Sharon got nicknamed ice queen because her voice is so bright and high pitched. It feels very icy in a good way. My favourite song by them is "Jillian", it's so powerful. And I also love "the heart of everything." Especially the operatic, non-lyrical part towards the end gives me goosebumps.
If I am not mistaken I saw her live for the first time in 1999 when she joined dutch punkband Heideroosjes for 1 or a few songs at the Pinkpop festival. Some years later this song was on Dutch radio everywhere and they were pretty big ever since. Saw them perform a few times. Crazy to think that Anneke, Sharon, Floor and Simone are all from my small country. And I have seen them all perform live😁
They are white walkers from Game of Thrones. Also do check out “Jillian” live from the silent force tour. (Specifically the show at Java Island. Double epic.
Great breakdown of Sharon's vocals and the band in general! I'm a longtime fan of Within Temptation's older material, and I really feel like you did them justice. Speaking of Dutch gothic metal bands with a female vocalist who sticks mainly to head voice, I would love to see you react to "Blackbriar - Cry Of A Banshee (Acoustic) [Live]". Zora, the vocalist, has some real chops and that is the song I have people listen to to get them hooked on the band.
Elizabeth, I have been following you for some time quietly in the background, I don't comment often. I simply love the genuine passion you have for the human voice as well as the depth of knowledge you possess and freely share with your followers. My wife Joanne has said to me that if she had a singing teacher as inspiring as you instead of an old fashioned teacher who would not extend her beyond opera, she would have continued lessons. Ice Queen is one of the songs that Joanne sings but usually drops it an octave which gives it a very different feel.
Nature and life have been a big part of the Within Temptation sound for a long time. The album this track came from is called Mother Earth and features plenty of other themes around this. A fewbyesrs later they did a duo track with Tarja Turanen the former Nightwish vocalist to carry on the coat of arms of the 2 OG's of female metal singers.
A quick look at the Wiki entry on Sharon den Adel: "Her musical influences include Tori Amos, Paradise Lost, Nirvana, The Verve, HIM and Bob Marley" Miss Elizabeth will definitely be delighted with these names! So pretty good listening and reaction material I think ... 😁😁😁👍

It always leaves me in awe how good pop an rock singers breathe out so much that the voice can just float in a broad stream of air. I tend to hold in my air too much so that my voice doesn't reach this shimmering kind of airy volume and stableness. Very motivating. Breeeeeathe!!!
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. The way you are able to break down and explain singing to someone without prior knowledge is fantastic, and always on a positive note. A massive thank you!
i love when you react to Within Temptation. They are a band I've gotten wind of a few years ago and I cannot find a song that I don't like by them. It's incredible how Sharon sounds even though I believe she has no formal vocal training.
It seems like her voice makes you... calm...? your own voice gets really smooth. I kinda feel a peaceful pleasure happening in your mind. it's always beautiful to see your reactions. thank you ❤️
Whenever I hear Sharon I am blown away that her singing is all self-taught. Also her costumes - she used to work in the fashion industry and apparently designs all her own stage outfits. As for other Within Temptation songs there are loads to recommend - Mother Earth, Neverending Story, Stand My Ground, Our Solemn Hour, Angels (highly recommend the music vid), The Howling, Paradise (What About Us) ft Tarja, Memories and Sinead to name just a few - they have an amazing back catalogue ro choose from.

I remember going on a road trip as a kid with only two cd’s in the car. One with a cover of the singer in a white dress (Within Temptation) and another band with a singer in a red dress (Hooverphonic). You’ve reacted to both of them now. Happy memories
You know which channel I think is super underrated? Metal Piano Music. The guy spends weeks composing classic metal songs into classical/relaxing piano pieces and he hardly gets any views. I love his arrangement of Holy Diver by Dio. That dude deserves millions of followers
Within Temptation was the first big concert I ever went to, and this song in particular was of course the reason we all got into the band in the first place. Haven't heard it in years, but of course it's still excellent!
"Mother Earth" from their "Black Symphony" concert is really worth listening. It has a full live orchestra! The song is from the same album as "Ice Queen" and is still one of the most popular classics. ruclips.net/video/u5yyFrfR37I/видео.html
This is the first song of Within Temptation I ever heard, and one of my absolute favorites. It has a great nostalgia feeling as it reminds me of when me and my girlfriend met. We have been together for 17,5 yrs now 😊

Glorious! There is something about the vocal melody that will never wear off and will always sound so original and true, especially 8:17 always gives me guaranteed goosebumps. I kinda rediscovered this now alongside you - I can still remember when I was just 11 and this hit the charts and I just started to find out about the glory of metal music. I need to add this song to a lot of playlists now, completely needed a reminder of how good this truly is. I can fully recommend their live album "Black Symphony" it is on spotify and it is beautiful! Songs I can recommend: Jilian, The Howling, Stand My Ground, Mother Earth
I love Within Temptation. My absolute favorite band. I have been listening to them over the last 15 years. I love "The Silent Force" Album. I'm so happy you chose a live performance.

Hello Elizabeth, and greetings from Australia.Thoroughly enjoying this live concert and the epic stadium/theatrical feel her voice conveys. This whole annual festival celebration is fascinating to me also. It’s a full production that highlights many creative aspects, apart from her heavenly and honest vocal style. May I recommend you listen to any releases from “London Grammar” as I feel some pleasant similarities in both these fantastic female voices. I’ve only been following your you tube appraisals since the start of the year, and i’m finding them to be educating, captivating and enthralling. So much so that I may convince myself to take up vocal lessons again this year. Thank you and all the subscribers for the your amazing insights, experience and recommendations.
This will be fun. This was the first WT song I heard and the only one I've covered. I don't think I've seen this version, but I know Sharon and the guys are going to nail it as always.
Hi Pale Horse, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
I have already been following a bond for quite some time now. I truly believe that the singer of the band is a pearl gone unnoticed. The band is called black briar. Her voice is just enchanting. I always wanted to know how well she could sing from a vocal coach perspective. The band is "blackbriar". The songs I would recommend are "through the crevice", "liillith be gone" and "beautiful delirium". Some songs have acoustic versions which are just as amazing as the rest. (Coincidentally also a duch singer)
Side Note: Sharon studied as a fashion designer, and designs her own stage outfits. Within Temptation has been one of my favorite bands for over a decade now. They are touring the US in 2022.
When Sharon's voice does that ethereal bit as you rightly call it with 'haven't you seen' it always brings a tear to my eye. There's something about her voice that is so innocent.
Elizabeth, I could be in the most sour, frustrated mood, and your videos and exuberance and enthusiasm will always put a smile on my face. I'm so happy to have found your channel a few months ago. THANK YOU SO MUCH! 💜💜💜 I'm still waiting to see In This Moment! "The Fighter" is, in my semi-educated opinion, the best representation of Maria Brink's full vocal range; she doesn't fully unleash her screams in it, but her power is definitely on display. "Blood" is much grittier, and while you don't get to hear as much of her clean singing, she really rips the vocal fry and some screaming in it.
Right away (hearing/seeing them for the 1st time), I'm thinking, "Way too cool!" I love all the instruments here (violin? Hello!) Such an amazing performance. Would love to see them in person. Dang, gonna have to go on a quest for their music now. Elizabeth, Patrons- you guys (& gals) are making my music library expand like crazy. Love it. Ah. Wonderful end to a Monday. Oh- one last thing. Love the geek out by our hostess. Hee hee! ❤🐯

I have found many bands through reaction channels. Violin and pianos always add an extra emotional layer I love her geek outs. They are one the best parts about her reactions, as are her informative tidbits
@@patrickschardt7724 - I agree with you on both parts. LOVE strings. Elizabeth is the most "Human" of all reactors. She doesn't fake it or try to be too controlled- when she truly digs something. Awesome channel.
I got to see them live a couple years ago and they did the most gorgeous acoustic version of this song, one of my favorite moments from any concert I've been to
Shimmery is such a good word for her high notes! She really is an angel-in personality as well! And I love how much FUN the whole band always seems to be having on stage, especially when they get to dress up like this 😂 she’s great at engaging the crowd too She and Floor remind me a lot of each other in terms of their vocal tones. Like, they both have quite “neutral” voices. Warm but still very clear and light, where they can pretty easily choose to use both brighter and darker tone effects on different parts. They’ve also both got those high mixed belts on LOCK. I know it’s been a while since you’ve checked out WT, but if you’re ever interested in doing more, Sharon actually did a song with Nightwish’s first singer Tarja! It would be great to hear what you think of them singing together considering Tarja’s heavily operatic style is SO different to Sharon’s natural one. ruclips.net/video/ysP8N1ZlUDY/видео.html
As a bonus, here’s the two of them dueting on each other’s songs Angels and I Walk Alone: ruclips.net/video/lMuzzEvgVW0/видео.html Super lowkey acoustic set so it’s really fun to see how they mess around and ad lib!
Love your channel and reviews. Your technical information is so appreciated by this 63 year old. Since you seem to enjoy following the journey and growth in singers I’d love to suggest Jonathan Antoine. He first appeared to the world on Britains Got Talent with his friend Charlotte and disparaging remarks from Simon and the crowd because he is overweight… until he opened his mouth. At 17 he has the voice of Pavarotti. Jonathan and his friend Charlotte recorded together for a few years and then he moved on solo as a tenor. The change in one person cannot be more striking as he went from an extremely shy, somewhat broken 17 year old to the funny confident adult Jonathan now in concert and on RUclips. His Italian is beautiful and his Godfather theme became my new favourite rendition. I hope you will enjoy his journey as much as I have. There is so much inspiration for teens and adults in what he has achieved. I only wish more people might see him and know that weight and beauty alone does not equal talent but comes in all sizes, shapes, ages and looks.

Another glorious reaction, Elizabeth. I love the obvious glee with which you describe Sharon's vocal tone. You always seem to make listening to music such a joyful experience, and this applies whether it's a song I'm hearing for the first time, or one I've known for years. While we're on the subject of bands with Dutch leading ladies, I'd love to see you react to Blackbriar - Arms of the Ocean (acoustic live).

theres still Edenbridge from the oldies
"Delain-masters of Destiny" (Charlotte Wessels)or "soft revolution-charlotte Wessels"
Water and Windmills

"Angellic" is always the word that came to my mind everytime I listen to her too. Ironically, first song I ever heard from them was "Angels" lol
Me too! This is the best way to describe Sharon’s voice
Angels was my introduction to Within Temptation as well
Angles is one of the best songs they have done! Again one of the first songs I heard too.

That was the first Within Temptation song I had heard as well.
I started from Enter and Restless. 1995. before they kinda touched the mainstream. THEN it was truly EPIC
You need to hear more songs, Elizabeth. Sharon can have a deeper snd richer tone on her belts.
Right? Her range difference just between Mother Earth and Hydra is huge.
Reminds me of someone . . .
Yeah, what a year for Metal Mom Elizabeth, with all her projects, how many hours does her day actually have? 48? 😵
@@joergojschaefer3521 Sheand Kirk both have insane work ethics.
@@oglschmitt Definitely! Full power mode! Absolutely admirable!
This deserves alot more likes!
@@kirbys1370 I saw that one a couple of months ago, good stuff.
Got this Album on Christmas , has been a while
Sharon's voice is ear candy. It's so light and sweet, but she can turn it up when she needs too. Not enough people know about this band, and that's a travesty.

They were huge in the Netherlands when I grew up here. First band I've seen live
For someone who wad basically self taught with vocals, it is impressive the way she sings. Mind you, it hasn't limited her because of it, it helps her make sounds you don't always hear from trained vocalists
She has a bachelors degree in fashion and I believe designs all the outfits and stage sets.
The wonderment and joy in Liz’s attitude translates perfectly to her facial expressions. Have you ever seen anyone enjoy what they do more than she?
Before they hit it big (with 'Ice Queen') Sharon worked in the fashion industry. She's always doing interesting things with her stage outfits.
Totally agree - Mother Earth, and I'd add Frozen and Covered By Roses!
“The Heart of Everything” would be an interesting choice - Sharon puts a lot of grit into her voice on that song.
Seen her live when i was 14 was in my home village in the Netherlands. Back then this song was basically just released was an amazing show.
You should do an interview with Sharon! Brilliant singer and favorite song is Withing Temptation - Another Day!
She have an voice like velvet and looks like an angel
Sharon is next to a great singer, also a very nice person.
She and her family life in my village and she is always friendly.
If you want to see another side of her and don't mind hear to some other music styles (I listen to all kinds of music) I suggest:

Two great Dutch artists with a great collaboration.

That is amazing that you live near her. How awesome it would be to have Sharon as a neighbor!
Holland?
The dresses are a signature look for Sharon, she always wears them on stage.
This song started on a TV station 'the Box' where viewers could request the songs that were going to be played. This got requested a lot and the band blew up shortly after. Another song that broke through at the same time was Nemo from Nightwish. It is how I discovered both bands at the time.
Funny. In my country the song that put them on the spotlight was Memories.
I am looking forward to this so much! Discovering this song opened up a whole new world of music to me.

Omg yes finally! Ice Queen is a song that's ingrained in my brain from the time I still consistently listened to the radio. It got quite some airplay here in Belgium and always made me try (and fail) to sing along
"And We Run" by Within Temptation is amazing.
"Paradise (What About Us?)" is also really good, Tarja sings with her and it's fantastic.

Totally agree with Paradise( What about us) unbelievably good. They soon so good together 👍
My favorite band everrrr! 😍 She sounds like an angel, looks like the snow queen, just.... Blesses my ears every time.
Such a great band. "Memories" is one of my favorites from Withing Tempatation. Especially in combination with the Music Video!
Amazing to see WT back on the channel 🤘
Please also check out the song WT did with Tarja: "Paradise"! The live version at Masters of Rock 2019 is awesome, I'm sure you'll love it 😄
PS: Tea time with Sharon would make for a great talk, she's such a sweetheart 😊
YES
Within Temptation is most definitely in my top 3 of most memorable live performances I've seen
I was at the first 3 of those shows in 2007, which stop did you see them on?
@@Chris_1978 Louisville, KY. Then I went to Grand Rapids but the gathering was playing instead of within temptation.

That was an experience. I'm glad I can say within temptation was one of the bands I can say got me into this style of metal. Simply glorious vocals

Can't believe this song is 21 years old.......damn, how time flies.
I agree, she really does have one of the best tones in show business.
I can't listen to this song without crying. It was the favorite from a dear friend who was taken from us too soon. Ice Queen was her online tag.

I love that you can hear in Sharon's voice that she gives it all live.
to me.. she did it better in the earlier days... but maybe that is just me ...
@@gzignl its not you. This version was somehow not that good :(
If I am not mistaken I saw her live for the first time in 1999 when she joined dutch punkband Heideroosjes for 1 or a few songs at the Pinkpop festival.
Jillian is just a really good number and yeah the Silent Force tour version is great although I prefer the Black Symphony concert version.
Thank you for reminding me how much I love that era of Within Temptation's music. This takes me back to high school.
A quick look at the Wiki entry on Sharon den Adel: "Her musical influences include Tori Amos, Paradise Lost, Nirvana, The Verve, HIM and Bob Marley"
Miss Elizabeth will definitely be delighted with these names! So pretty good listening and reaction material I think ... 😁😁😁👍

Hey Kirby S. 🤘Thank you, I'll have a look after the premiere today ... 👍
Paradise Lost from when though? Preferably not their brief stint in the majors.
It always leaves me in awe how good pop an rock singers breathe out so much that the voice can just float in a broad stream of air. I tend to hold in my air too much so that my voice doesn't reach this shimmering kind of airy volume and stableness. Very motivating. Breeeeeathe!!!

I'm still waiting to see In This Moment!
You're very much welcome! Thanks for the suggestions as wek!
Her voice is absolutely beautiful, especially considering she never really was taught to sing and trained and learned by herself.

Good choice. One of WT’s best songs.
You misspelled worst or maybe popular, which doesn't mean much when looking at quality.
I really think WT has waaay better songs than this one, but everyone's tastes are different 😁
I got to see them live a couple years ago and they did the most gorgeous acoustic version of this song, one of my favorite moments from any concert I've been to
Shimmery is such a good word for her high notes! She really is an angel-in personality as well! And I love how much FUN the whole band always seems to be having on stage, especially when they get to dress up like this 😂 she’s great at engaging the crowd too
She and Floor remind me a lot of each other in terms of their vocal tones.

Super lowkey acoustic set so it’s really fun to see how they mess around and ad lib!
My favorite song of theirs is Sinead. Sharon has an amazing voice.
Ahhhhh... One of my all time favorites of this group.
Nightwish, Epica, Unleash the Archers, now Within Temptation. Gotta check out Amaranthe sometime!
Hi Forgiven Accepted, it's been over a year, but this is actually Elizabeth's 2nd Within Temptation reaction. The first was, "Somewhere," featuring Anneke van Giersbergen on Sept. 2020. Here is a link to the video if you haven't seen it yet: ruclips.net/video/T015Y59R3ls/видео.html
As someone already mentioned: Sharon is an autodidact, meaning her vocal abilities are SELF-TAUGHT.
Mainly self-taught...
The stage presence is pretty amazing , First time I have seen them perform .
