I've always been partial to the Bridge Jump, but I have to say this method is the best one yet. No going out in a blaze of glory via the pinkertons after.
I don't like hats with bullet holes.

But you have to stop at the landstrip closest to Blackwater, check the map.
Tip! For anyone who doesn't want to do it whilst watching the video at the same time, start at Van Horn, mark the railroad bridge slightly southwest of you, and cross there. Next mark emerald ranch and use the little bridge there to cross the stream. Next, mark Flatneck Station and head there then cross the large railroad bridge there. Finally mark the finishing point on the peninsuala nearest Blackwater. On an arabian you can do it in under 5 minutes. Full credit to the guy who made this amazing video.

out of all the guides out there this is genuinely the best, so many make u go such complicated paths, all involve a risk of jumping the bridge or get shot at by Pinkertons, then there's your with a straight forward and easy asf way, and I don't even need to go to blackwater

Done this 5x now. Gonna try this rn I've fallen off my horse through the owanjila route twice, finally made it up to beechers hope and got knocked off my horse by 2 stagecoaches glitching together. I recorded it. Nearly threw my control at the tv 😂😂😂

@@Ozzy-_-_- You can replay the reverend mission and go to Beechers Hope with the reverend on the back of your horse.
Most of the time there is one across the river on the left of the road to Beechers Hope.
With the reverend with you, you won't be shot.
If you find one, complete the mission normaly after that.
Interestingly, while I was doing the hunting side mission with Charles, I came across a Hungarian herd in the heartlans section. After the mission was over, I slept until the morning and the herd was there again and I solved it. Horseman was finished.

I’m about to do this challenge and was scouting around for different methods and this popped up after I thought I found the best one.
When you got to the peninsula I thought this was going to be the best troll job ever.

Perfect! (The 2nd time). I did end up searching for someone else doing it this way because it seemed too easy and I was till thinking I was getting trolled.
The hardest part of the whole thing by for me was cutting over to the beach at the end. The 1st try I hit a rock, fell over and had to start again.
The 2nd time I was on some tracks and my controller vibrated when I ran though a puddle(it just rained) and I thought I blew it, got to the end and I swear it felt like I almost had to go all the way down to the water before it gave me the notification I passed.

Edit: Another benefit of doing it this way is that I was able to tame a Nakota and a Morgan for Horseman 10 right down the beach

Oh my god! Actually, those aren’t the words I actually said, the real words started with HF, lol! In all the years, I can’t believe no one ever figured out this counts! Genius my friend! I was afraid you were going to try to jump the broken bridge, which I can’t do because I would kill my horse, but you discovered you don’t even have to cross over! Mind blown!
P.S. does it matter which version you are using?
I have done Horseman 9 as Arthur successfully a lot of times on the black Arabian, but always with the Pinkerton chasing me through the rocks, so many times it got to be fun, but this route is just incredible.

05/14/24. PlayStation 4 console offline to anyone still playing this amazing game. Horseman challenge 9 achieved basically without even going into Blackwater. Chris Baker you are the man are you honestly still playing this game because I am and I continue to play all my games offline.

Works on 2024-01-26!
1- I rode one of those giant Shire horses all at max levels.
2- I bought the full service at the ranch just North of Van Horne to boost the noble animal but it was 100% unnecessary.
3- I did not have the horse run at full speed, _ever!_ Just kept my finger on PS4's X button during the leisurely trip. I didn't juice the horse either.
4- Followed the way approximatively as shown in the video until the end of the beach with Blackwater across it and the message popped! 🎆🥂🏆👍💪
Internet comments said to not jump the bridge with an Arabian horse. In my initial 100% playthrough, it's what I did as it was my only horse in the entire game, I don't understand? 🤔 I did sweat bullets as I jumped the broken structure believe you me! 😜 I didn't even know one could take the Owandjila bridge for a safer but longer detour. When I learned that route later, I was OH NO!! REALLY? 🙄😆

I’ve played through the game like 6 times and I’m finally trying to 100% it. Got gambler, hunter, survivalist and bandit done. Probably gonna do this one as John. Mainly because I hate button mashing 😅
John has the whole map available so no challenge there.
This method is handy if you don't want Arthur getting blown away by Pinkertons. 😁

Strange is how the beach is considered Blackwater territory even though its outline (lockdown) doesnt reach it. All other towns have check mark right at the outline.
Yeah the developers made the hitbox quite large.
In this case I don't care.

What the hell, didn't know that the thin land is blackwater's territory. Seriously, yesterday i did the same route as you and crossed the big train bridge, then, the only way possible to blackwater without touching the water was to ride into tall trees. Bruh

5 minutes 50 seconds full sprint 2nd try on chestnut Arab.
1st try I was ambushed just outside van horn 😅 and then after I got out I was hit by 2 guys on horses. I killed them both 😂
It's soo easy guys, don't over think it and take your time. No rush.

@Zennique I've been very lucky with my gambler challeneges. I don't even know how to play domino's but some how I keep winning 🤣🤷🏼♂️ I just play in camp usually against tilly or person and I win most games 🤣
@Zennique I got the first 2 back to back then the last one took 30/40 mins. Was rather annoying. So I can now understand people going nuts after a few hours or it 😬
Did mine in Rhodes picked the closet seat to the got 2 of them didn't get anything after. So switched to the 3rd (2nd seat had a NPC in it) but got there in the end.

Put a marker on the finish location and go from there.
As in the other challenge, don't touch water.
Easy way to do horseman 9 . Go get a bounty then ride to van horn then start riideing to blackwater using railroad trackes and the bridge. There will be no Pinkerton's casting you When you enter the area then will get the challenge completed.
This method is far more convinient, no need to get a bounty, no need to ride with the bounty to Van Horn and no need to take the long route to Blackwater.
You can do this in under 7 minutes.
And it can be done right from the beginning of chapter 2 till the end, not depending on an available bounty.
You realy think with a bounty is easier?

@@Zennique Yea that’s true, I did that last year on my last playthrough and it wasn’t too bad even with the pinkertons. I was able to complete the challenge on the first or second try. I think I had to chug like 13 health potions to complete the challenge though, so this method is obviously much safer. I wish there was a toggle to sprint option on horseback like there is on foot, so I don’t have to button mash. Luckily I have a controller adapter with multiple rear buttons otherwise my A button would be destroyed by now
