wow, great video on this product showing how it works. most of the other content is trying to get me to flash the firmware but this is what I needed to know - thank you!
I dont have the sonoff 4 ch pro R3 version. I have the R2 pro version, that's shown in the video. The newer R3 pro supports self locking and interlocking mode on the app itself. So you don't have to flip any hardware switch inside the sonoff device. Please check the new features and differences on this sonoff page. sonoff.tech/product/diy-smart-switch/4chr3-4chpror3/
Also I have a follow up question. Does the app allow for a scenario where when switching " ON" e.g. Bulb 1 , it can automatically switch OFF bulb 4 , Finally can the device be integrated into the google smart home app. Also does the device require a hub (e.g. ZigBee) or does it work with a remote server (e.g. Tuya). Does the time remain active in case the WiFi is down? Thanks 🙏👍
hi bro, thank you for video, it is very good. just one question; i have a newer model, it has usb port and what it that usb port doing there while switch can work with 220v? i did not understand. it is called as Tuya WiFi 4 Channels Smart Switch Module.
Great video ! In case the e.g. 4th bulb is connected on the always "on" while the others are connected as always "off" and using the inter-locking mode , would switching on bulb e.g 1, 2 or 3 would also switch on bulb 4 ? Thank
Thank you! Yes, you can. Just need to ensure you have the sonoff switch connected to the Internet all the time at home. And your phone has an Internet connection to control from another country. Checkout my other videos on sonoff switch. You can find more details there! Thanks for watching 🙏👍🙂
Argh!! spent hours trying to get the RF433 to work with a 4Ch3 (which replaced a faulty 4chpro2) only to realise the non-pro edition units dont support RF signals! Guess I'll stick with the app or buy a pro version again to get the RF remote control functionality back.
Hehe. Yea, got to pay a little attention on the product page while ordering, as one can easily miss to select the pro, as they look almost same as the nonpro one. Good luck with your next purchase 🙂
Great instructions. Thank you. I have an iPhone and i want to name the switches on my screen instead of saying CH1 to CH4. I want to customize it. Please advise
Thank you! Yes. You can rename the channel name to any name by going to the settings - > basic info - > Name I tried it and it works! Thanks for watching 🙂👍
TechnoShare: The only option on an IOS device is to change the Sonoff name. Not each one of the 4 channels. Or at least i do not know how to do it. I would like to enter 4 different names. One for each channel
@Yasso Karim I was able to change it on my ipad air, for all the individual channels. I don't have an iPhone. But I am hoping the software may be same. On android as well, I was able to change.
Hello there, i want to automate my roller shutters with sonoff. My main issue is that i want also the normal switch on my wall as my wife or kids they dont have access to the smart app/switch. What is the best way to install a sonoff but also the wall switch stay functional. Please advice...
Hey there! Yea. I have heard the same question from other viewers also. However, this switch does not offer that feature. Unless you want to use the small buttons on the sonoff device as manual switch. Please check, if sonoff has any other type of switch, that can give the desired behaviour that you mentioned. I think I had come across few videos on RUclips where they had demonstrated this behaviour. But I think those may require some hacks. I dont recall. Please check it out.
Will the remote control still works if there is no network connection at all. So no signal at all. I just wanted to use the remote control key to turn my light on/off
You can. But you need a 2nd phone (as far as i know), in order to configure the router first time. I remember trying this once, and found that I had connection issues. Many a times, the switch was not responding to the commands on and off. (I had tried this on the sonoff single switch model)
Thats a nice question! I think, it will not work. Reason: There is a mode switch S6, that we need to set, and it can be either in Interlock mode or Self-lock/Inching mode. So, when we set it to interlock mode, the inching mode is disabled. When set to Inching mode, the interlocking mode gets disabled. Its also mentioned in the documentation of the swich as follows:. "Please note that if S6 is toggled to the right(0), your 4CH Pro is in interlock mode, it’s invalid to set K5". Here K5 is the config to associate individual switches to either Inching or Self-locking. Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching 🙂 👍 ewelink.coolkit.cc/?p=458#:~:text=1.%20Power%20up%20your%20device,corresponding%20pairing%20icon%2C%20click%20next.
Would this still switch if the internet connection was lost? Basically, does it need a constant internet connection to work or could time schedules be updated in an area with internet and then the switch be moved away from internet access and still switch as programmed?
It needs internet access to work as programmed. In case of Internet unavailability, the light can be manually controlled by pressing the physical button on the sonoff switch.
Hi there! It supports total load of 10 Amps max and 2200W . TV can be connected. But you need to check your fridge and AC power consumption and then decide accordingly. I personally have not connected high power consuming devices. Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks for explaining this device. Can I connect this device to ceiling lights that use 4 gang wall switches (aka dumb switch). Can I use this device to make those 4 switch smart? I have used a Sonoff Mini for a single switch but I wish to make a 4 gang switch smart in the same way. How can I connect a physical wall switch to this device?
Hi there!! Thank you!! Yes, you can make the Fan and lights smart, but I dont think we can use physical switches along with this sonoff switch. As you can visualize, it would not work. Say, you switch on the light using physical switch. And switch it off from your mobile app. But the physical switch will remain still ON. So, now, ideally, if you switch off the physical switch, then the light should come ON. But, this will not happen, as it is a single way switch. (not a 2-way or 3-way). Infact, the moment you switch it off, the sonoff switch may lose power. So, tracking the states of the switch is the concern here. I have come across few pages on the internet, where people have tried 3-way switches etc. But not sure if it worked.
It works on wifi sir. Sonoff device needs to be in the wifi range in your house, so that its connected to the Internet. Your phone can be anywhere in the world. As long ad you are connected to the Internet (could be on different wifi network or on mobile network) , you can control the device. Hope this helps! Please like👍 the video and subscribe sir. 😊, if you found it useful. Thanks

The question is can we use the SONOFF 4Ch Pro R2 device to operate the device at home or anywhere on the internet? Or this device can only be used while on site Can this device be operated by more than one user?
Hi there! Good question and i appreciate your thoughts on your idea to use it. So, this device needs wifi with Internet to work. Once it is connected, it can be controlled from anywhere using the mobile app. Can control it from smartphone connected to mobile network as well. Regarding the users, i have tried to login to the app, using same account credentials on a second phone. It will login to the second phone and show the connected device. But it will immediately logout of the account and session on the first smartphone. So, one session can be active at any point of time across multiple phones. If login again on first mobile, it will logout from second phone and login on first. Hope this helps. Please do give this video a like 👍. Also consider subscribing to my channel 😊. (if not yet). Hi!! Yes, you can!! In the sonoff app, just open the sonoff device -> Got to setting -> Name -> Change the channel names for each one, and save. Thanks!! Hope this helps!! Like and subscribe if it helped!! 🙂👍
Thank you :) Yes, we can have 2 switches in the inching mode and the remaining 2 in the self-locking mode. I have demo'ed it in my video for 3 + 1 instead. Hi Bro! It requires Internet connection. Nope, it does not have hotspot feature. To control it via smartphone app, you need to have that connected to a wifi router. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! Please do like 👍 n subscribe bro. More videos coming.
If your sonoff i connected to home wifi with Internet, then you can literally operate the switch from anywhere in the world if your phone had a mobile Internet connection. If you plan to use the same home wifi Internet connection for your mobile phone, then the range will be limited to your router wifi strength. Limited in and around your house.
Hello Sir. If your question is for connecting the switch, to mobile Wi-Fi connection, using mobile data, then, from my personal experience, the connection was not consistent. And I had issues turning on/off the switch using the mobile app. It could be due to the network and cellphone signal strength. However, if you have connected the switch to a broadband Wi-Fi router connection, then it works perfectly fine. In this case, your smartphone dont need to be connected to the WiFi router. You can operate the switch using mobile data connection, from anywhere on this planet 🙂 👍, as long as you get a mobile signal! Please do like and subscribe to my channel, if this helped!! Thanks for watching!! Good day to you too!!
Can this be used with wall sockets instead of light bulbs? The reason why i’m asking is because my sockets draw 16A (220-240V), but this device is only rated for 10A. I definitely don’t want to fry up the Sonoff or even worse, my home appliances.
Hi there! I don't think this is a replacement for wall socket. We will not have any control over the appliance that we connect to the socket. As a result you might end up connecting more power hungry appliances without knowing, and it's a big risk. And yea, for sure it cannot exceed the rated capacity of the switch ie 10A. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🙂
Hi how many SONOFF 4 Channel switch links to the app. For example if I wanted to connect to eight light so I have to use two sonoff 4 channel switch. can I control both the switch at the same time by using the app ????????????
Hi there!! I have 2 modules in use. 1-channel and 4-channel. and both modules are working on the same application, simultaneously. Every device in the 4 channel can be controlled independently from the App. I have not tried with two 4-channel devices, as I have only one :( . Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching 🙂. Please do give this video a like 👍 and subscribe 👆!!
For the initial setup - yes. Once the set up done, it is not necessary. You can control the switch using mobile network also, provided the sonoff is connected to internet via the wifi router. Hope this helps!
Hi! I had tried with my Airtel Mobile network (using smartphone wifi network). I had problems with connections, and the sonoff switch could not connect properly and did not work. It could be network issue. It works fine on my broadband connection. No problem. Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching 🙂. Please do give this video a like 👍 and subscribe 👆!!
This connects to your home router. As long its connected to the router, you can control the switch from anywhere in the world!! Provided you have an internet connection on your router!
Hi there! Yes, Internet is needed all the time to operate from smartphone. Even if you are at home, and if you need to control using smartphone, you need internet for it. However, you can control manually using the small button on the switch by pressing it and that will not need internet. Hope this helps! Please do give this video a like 👍. Subscribe for updates!! Thanks 🙂
If you meant using this on mobile wifi network (tethering), it may not work properly. I have tried this on sonoff basic switch, on Airtel network in my place. And the switch did not work consistently in its operations. I would recommend a Wi-Fi modem connection for good working based on my experience. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
Hi there! If you meant to ask if we could control multiple lights independently, all connected to a single switch, then the answer is no. One switch can only control one light.
4 devices connect kar sakte hai. Internet zaroorat hai..agar smartphone se operate karna hai toh. sonoff switch ka push button press kar ne se on off hojaye ga.. bina internet ka
I'm battling to connect the 4 Channel Switch to the RM433. I can't seem to get it to get into the "pairing" mode by pressing the channel button twice quickly. Anyone else battle with this?
I believe, this may not be suitable for AC. Please check the power consumption and rating of your AC device. It should not exceed the max power/load rating of the sonoff switch. Below are the max values shown on the switch: Max. Current: 10A/gang Max. Power:2200W/gang, 2200W/Total
Yes. It can be controlled using the app, from any where once its connected to internet. The account credentials works only on one smartphone at a time. If you try to login to app on another smartphone, it will immediately logoff from the app session in the first smartphone and login on the second phone. Hope this helps 🙂. Please do give this video a like 👍 if it helped! Also consider subscribing! (if not yet)
@Martha Benedict Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware of that feature. Had tried looking out for any share option on the app earlier. But i guess it wont show the share icon option if the device is offline. Thanks! Have updated the info.
App has just the buttons. But the behaviour of it (inching mode) needs to be change manually on the hardware switch. Agree with you. Could have given that configuration in settings on the app itself . But thats what it is... And thats what we get 😊. Thanks for watching 👍😊
Hi there !!. Please ensure you have internet on your router, and the wifi signals are strong. You may want to move the sonoff much closer to the router and then give it a try? Or try resetting the sonoff switch and give it a try? Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!!

If i operate this device by remote internet connection require
This is work with wifi phone or need wifi modem
Bro can we operate more lights with single switch
Hi there! If you meant to ask if we could control multiple lights independently, all connected to a single switch, then the answer is no. One switch can only control one light.

I don't think this can be connected to normal switch.
I'm battling to connect the 4 Channel Switch to the RM433. I can't seem to get it to get into the "pairing" mode by pressing the channel button twice quickly. Anyone else battle with this?
Thanks.. ac connection ok...
How to make a dc connection...
Can i start a AC device conect it in a channel from sonoff 4ch pro ? Posso acionar um AC conectando em um dos canais ?
I believe, this may not be suitable for AC.
Please check the power consumption and rating of your AC device. It should not exceed the max power/load rating of the sonoff switch. Below are the max values shown on the switch:
Max. Current: 10A/gang
Max. Power:2200W/gang, 2200W/Total
I like it
Thank you 🙂👍🙏
Can we control this device with Internet if we attach internet with our wifi network???
Can we controlle this device more then one Mobile??
Yes. It can be controlled using the app, from any where once its connected to internet. The account credentials works only on one smartphone at a time. If you try to login to app on another smartphone, it will immediately logoff from the app session in the first smartphone and login on the second phone. Hope this helps 🙂. @Martha Benedict Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware of that feature. Had tried looking out for any share option on the app earlier. But i guess it wont show the share icon option if the device is offline. Thanks! Have updated the info.
Share option is available. Please check this link for more details!

Yes, you can to share to unlimited number of users
Why yours not have intching from the apps itself
App has just the buttons. But the behaviour of it (inching mode) needs to be change manually on the hardware switch. Agree with you. Could have given that configuration in settings on the app itself . But thats what it is... And thats what we get 😊. Thanks for watching 👍😊
good

How to fix
Hi there !!. Please ensure you have internet on your router, and the wifi signals are strong. You may want to move the sonoff much closer to the router and then give it a try? Or try resetting the sonoff switch and give it a try? Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!!
