be carefull with that wiring diagram 2:30, most valves in world need 24 AC , no dc ! - if you use dc , they will die much much faster :) there are dc valves but only for 9V
Thanks a lot, I did not know that. In that case I recommend using mains to power the 4CH and 24V AC only for the valves.

I have a dc valve runs of 9v. I think for the length of the wire i will use 12v supply

Can you share some info on the valve type you're using? Have you thought of using leakage sensor as "rain sensor" to avoid watering your lawn after or during rain?

I use SONOFF® Wireless Plug Power Socket in combination with Electric Solenoid Valve Magnetic DC Normal Closed Water Air Inlet Flow Switch to water my flowers and it works great for 3 years now

I built an irrigation system with Sonoff 4CH ProR3 and Hunter valves for our new lawn in mid September. I use inching instead of interlock. It is a pity that they cannot be used at the same time.
I experimented with "Sunrise" to start watering, but then I still didn't find the feature reliable enough.

Thanks for the insightful video... I use Sonoff products and am really excited and am planning my next project to do the irrigation system with Sonoff! However, I have a question... How can I include a rain sensor and/or a soil humidity sensor on the setup you described? thanks
It is a good question. As far as I know commercial rain sensors use a cork which expands when gets wet and it activates a switch. And when it dries out and the cork shrinks, it turns off. I think you could connect this sensor to a Sonoff mini to the switch input. That will turn the mini on and off when rain is detected. And you can create a scene, when the mini turns on, you disable the irrigation scenes, and when it turns off you activate the irrigation scene again.
Hi there, Im worried about how to protect your system in case the pump turns ON but the electrovalve dont open... How to just turn ON the pump knowing that the EV is really open?
I guess some advance timers setting is not available anymore in the standard app.Doesn’t it?
Hi Csongor, what would the diagram look like if you do not use DC?
To make your system more water-efficient, you could add a rain sensor so that the sprinklers don't turn on if it has rained recently.
Do you know a rain sensor that works with Sonoff?
@@csongorvarga I use the following sensor for my sprinkler system. It is a simple Normally Closed switch. When it rains, the cork inside gets wet and expands - opening the switch. This is connected to a Siemens LOGO PLC as a discrete input. But you could put the rain sensor in series with the power supply to your Sonoff 4CH Pro. Sonoff will not have power until the sensor resets (usually 12-20 hours after rain stops).

@@sumitbirla5895 Or better put it series with the 24V supply. I am not sure this is designed to handle mains power. So the 4CH will still run the scene, but the valves will not open.

Good timing with this video. I have just bought a “micro irrigation” system. It’s really good. I was planning on operating it via 8 little submersible pumps from Banggood, and 8 capacitive soil moisture sensors. What made you choose Sonoff, instead of making your own system with arduino?
I had this device for other uses, but I though it can be used for sprinklers as well. It is more for people who would rather not mess with arduinos and programming, and potential soldering.

i have a question for you, i have a 4ch pro and i use only 2 ch for my sprinkles with 24v ac, can i use different voltage on the other 2 ch, let say 220v ac or 12v dc to serve me for other applications?
Oh yes. Power the 4CH Pro from either AC or DC it does not make a difference. And for ch1 and ch2 you feed 24V AC to COM so you get 24V AC out on NO. For ch3 and ch4 you can feed in anything you want 12V DC, 220V AC live. They work completely independently.

These devices don't have loop timer feature like th16 or s26 plug, how to realise it?
No, they don't. You can manually set up the on-off timings in Schedule. But there is most probabaly a limit how many you can set.
can we use this system with rain bird garden irrigation system?
You can use rain bird valves, but I guess that is all.
Hello and congratulations for your channel, my garden has 8 channels of pop up irrigation system. Im understanding that I have to use 2 of the 4ch pro.
How can I make them to work one after the other? Not at the same time but not also with alo of hours between them difference.
I would use the same technique as I explained in the video. You can create a manual scene, where you list each of the 8 channels of the 2 4CH Pro and add the delay in between them. Just one note which came from a comment here: once the scene is running, we could not find a way of stopping it. Maybe you can have a switch to kill power to the 4CH Pros and wait for the scene to complete.

Szia Csongor, jól működik a rendszer az iránymutatásod alapján, egy kérdésem lenne, a manuálisan elindított programot (egymás után megy a 4 csatorna) hogyan lehet leállítani teljesen?
Ha csinálok egy másik manuális programot hogy minden csatornát kikapcsoljon akkor az éppen nyitott mágnes szelepet leállítja de a háttérben fut tovább a program és ha eljön az idő indítja a következő csatornát, tehát a kérdés a manuális programot hogyan lehet teljesen kikapcsolni hogy megálljon?
Na ez egy nagyon jo kerdes, mert szerintem sem lehet.
Esetleg annyit tudsz meg csinalni hogy nem kezi okosvezerleskent allitod be hanem idopontra aktivalodjon. Es azokat le lehet kapcsolni. Feltetelezem hogy az a futas kozben levokre is hat.
Köszi, akkor hagyom manuálon hogy tudjam kapcsolni később ha esett korán az eső s ezért nem indít az esőérzékelő
What are the specs, what if i use DC power ,to power the 4CH PRO R3 , what would be the output voltage, amps and power, can i power garden lights with it?
I can't tell exactly. Sonoff only specifies that the output is rated for 10A, does not say if the DC current is same or not. They usually have the same amps rating for 24V DC as well.
Sonoff does not specify the DC rating, only says 10A per gang. But 10A for 230V is usually the same for 24V DC.

Can i use one of the Channels to start a pump ?
Not if you are using the interlock approach like I did. But you can turn off the interlock and modify the scenes so when a new zone turns on, it will turn off the old zone. That way you can keep one channel on which is where the pump will be connected.

There is a Sonoff SV which is very similar and 1 channel.
What if there is a power failure? And the sprinkler is on already... Do you have a warning for that?
In the case the relay goes off and closes the valve.

I mentioned that in the video. You can use ch1 for that. Set the ch1 delay accordingly and start it with ch1 and ch2 on.
What sort of sprinkler valves are good to buy, cost effective and reliable?
@justatiger6268 I have Hunter valves. I am not sure if these are the cheapest or not, but certainly had no issues with them in the last 10 years.
Jól értem, hogy 220v betáp mellett simán használható 4db 24v ac mágnesszelep? Tehát a 24v ac mágnesszelepeket nem kell külön a 24v-os adapterrel "meghajtani", ugye?
Igen, a 4CH Pro nem a 220V-os betápot kapcsolja, hanem minden relének van egy bemenete amit kapcsol. Szóval a COM csatlakozóra kötöd a 24V-ot és a NO-re pedig a mágnesszelepet.
@@csongorvarga nem teljesen értem :) a NO csatlakozó ok, azokra mennek a mágnesszelepek, de honnan "tudja" a sonoff, hogy 24v ac-t akarok csak meghajtani, ha 220v a betáp? Van benne inverter?

@@ricandro3423 220V-ot bekötöd a Sonoff-ban az csak a Sonoff-nak adja a tápot a működéshez. És aztán ettől függetlenül a 24V-os trafódat kötöd a COM oldalra. A 4CH Pro esetén a tápellátás és amit a relé kapcsol az teljesen független.

@@ricandro3423 Igen 24V-ről is tud működni. Viszont a Sonoff-nak DC kell, a szelepek azt hiszem 24V AC-ról működnek. Szóval így-is úgy-is kell két külön áramforrás.

Szia, egyiket sem lehet hozzá csatlakoztatni. Ez egy általános okos relé, ilyeneket nem támogat. Igazából ez is csak egy olyan példa volt részemről, hogy estelg még erre is használható. Igen a Sonoff-nak vannak 433MHz-en működő reléi, amihez rádiós kapcsolót lehet párosítani. De azt nem tudom hogy ki lehetne-e váltani eső érzékelővel.
Ha jól tudom akkor ezek az eső érzékelők nem más mint egy parafa dugó, ami a víz határása megdagad és egy kis kapcsolót bekapcsol. Talán az lenne a legegyszerűbb, hogy ez a kapcsoló mondjuk egy relén keresztül megszakítva a 24V-ot. És akkor ha le is fut az okosvezérlés, a 24V nem jut el a szelepekhez és nem nyitnak ki.
Igen parafás a legtöbb, erre gondoltam én is, hogy a 24V AC csengőtrafók elé bekötni 😉
Akkor gondolom a sonoff-os talajnedvesség érzékelő is hasonló módon működhet hogy a 24V-ot szakítja meg, szerinted?
@@balazscsaszar9132 Na erről le is maradtam hogy már ilyen is van. De ezt kifejezetten a TH Elite-hez tervezték, ami tud hőmérséklet meg párataralmat is mérni. Szerintem ebben van valami elektronika különben ugyan erre az eszközre nem lehetne ilyen különböző szenzorokat kapcsolni. De itt akkor azt tudod csinálni hogy a TH elite kapcsolja a 24Vos trafót.
@@csongorvarga De azt viszont nem tudni, hogy a páratartalom érzékelő mennyire pontos egy parafás esőérzékelőhöz képest ami ugye el is ázik ami elég egzakt…de mindkettő működhet.
Ha jól értem akkor ha van pl. 3 köröm akkor a 24V AC trafó után (ami ellátja mindhárom mágnes szelepet) kell bekötni az esőérzékelőt vagy TH Elite-et ami egyszerre szakítja meg a 3 másneszselep 24V-os tápját?
