- Spectacular wild camp on Chinese Wall, a rocky crag 2000 feet up on the northern edge of kinder Scout in the Peak District.
Amazing location perched on the top of the crag with fantastic views all round, a perfect opportunity to use my drone to show the true beauty of the northern edge of Kinder Scout
He's back, the lad of lads, the king of hiking, the ayatollah of wild camping, our Pat.
Yes great to be back up on kinder, the best place in the world, all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 I might go this Saturday, storm permitting.
There is something exceptional about your videos.. The ways it's filmed, the locations, your charisma. All packed neatly into a brilliant video. I take my hat of to you. Absoulety fantastic.
Wow such a lovely comments, so kind of you, makes it all worthwhile, thanks Pat
I agree. Couldn't have put it better myself. RUclips is fairly laden with the grotesque, so Pat's videos bring a welcome respite.
The drone footage really puts the Scale of Kinder in to perspective such vast landscape. As always Pat great video.
Yes such a wild but beautiful place up there, thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 you doing anymore from your pub Patrick?
a Wainwright for the 21st century - Patrick you are a genius - thank God you didn't go sleepwalking! - seriously high quality footage thanks
Thanks Paul, yes life on the edge, best place to be, thanks Pat
AMAZING on so many different levels. You are one FIT individual and one of the best RUclipsrs. Your content is 100% better than anything on TV. Looking forward to your next journey. Thank you!
Very kind of you to say Susan, you did, nt hear me puffing, on the way up Fairbrook, such a beautiful area, thanks Pat
stop admiring his body Susan! :-)
Another well put together video. Much better than the over dramatized ridiculously staged television shows. Thank you for another fine trip.
Very nice of you to say, thanks Pat
A new video from you never fails to spread a bit of happiness. Thank you Pat 👍🏻
That's great to hear, thanks David, all the best Pat
Putting it bluntly....Patrick you a bloody amazing and will i'm sure go down in history. I'm now 82 years and I'm lucky to be here considering my lifes activities but none can compare with you. Looking over the edge of chinese wall and the walk to get there made me feel quite queezy. Best wishes and please keep safe.
6 and really nice comments, I like to push the boundaries occasionally, worth it for the adrenaline and feeling, what a great day, all the best Pat
I love the way you say where 'we've' just camped :) It actually feels like that watching one of your videos. Your obvious passion for wild camping (as well as tree climbing and exploring etc) is what makes all of your vlogs so addictive. You don't just show us what you've done, you take us along with you. Well done Pat, another incredibly well crafted and presented adventure.
Thanks Gary and it's great to have you along on my adventures. I really enjoy making these videos every part from the initial idea, the filming, and then the final editing, all enjoyable, all the best Pat
Didn’t think your footage could get any better, then you give us this. Absolutely stunning Pat. Well done 👍
Thanks Rich, it is a amazing area, north edge of Kinder, can, t go wrong really, thanks Pat
Amazing! The Peak district looks like Middle Earth and at night just as scary.
Thank you so much Pat for these videos.
Yes Rob the Kinder Plateau is a one off sort of place, loved by many, all the best Pat
Makes me think of Weathertop
Beautiful Britain, thanks for the lovely video, I used to camp in the Lake District in the 1950-60s. I have been all over the USA sinI moved here in 1978 and there are some fabulous places to camp, but I still miss the Lakes,Scotland ,the coast and moors of Britain. Its the rain and wind that makes a good camping adventure.
Thanks George, yes if it's rain and wind, you can,t beat the moors of England, haha, you have some amazing places in the US, the Great Canyon for one, all the best Pat
You've gotta Love Pat, His video's are the best ! Amazing footage, Camera shots and Detailed information about where he is, Sucj a knowledgeable guy. Thanks for taking us along Pat Excellent video 10/10 💯👍💥🏕💥🏕

The Legend continues, thanks Pat , great video
Thanks Craig, nice of you to say, thanks Pat
I'm watching this in Saudi Arabia and it's still a couple of months before I'm home and watching this video is just the lift I need to banish another bout of homesickness. I remember standing on that bridge at the start and end of Pat's great video and counting to 50 while my daughters went and hid in the woods for another game of 1, 2, 3 - in! They've cut all the conifers down now probably to plant broad leaf saplings but fantastic memories and a fantastic video - Thanks Pat!!!
Hi and glad it brought back memories, that's always great when I hear that, not sure why they cut all the trees down, looks a right mess, very wet at the moment, you are probably in a better place, all the best Pat
Oh joy! How I have missed your adventures, Patrick! It's so good to see you, mate! I'll shut up and watch now.
Thanks, my videos are spread out, but hopefully worth the wait, all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 try and pitch your tent on mount Snowdon this time of the year 😂😂
Watching this in front of a warm fire, glass of whisky in hand, was sublime. Thanks for another belter, Pat!

What amazing views! When you go to places like that, it must make you feel it's so good to be alive, and that you're on top of the world. Really stunning, and a great video.
Exactly Graham, definitely alive when up there, such a amazing place, thanks Pat
You said it, absolutely stunning Patrick., but also wild and terrifying that night. I think you deserve a medal for that one. Very brave.

Cheers Dave
Hi David, a great place and glad it brought back memories, all the best Pat
It's always great when I get a Patrick Dickinison video in the mailbox. Stunning drone footage. I've been on a few wild and woolly camps too. It rained so hard once it was deafening, I had to shout to a guy that was hanging only about 10 feet away. It lasted all night, and we were worried about flash flooding in the ravine we were in. But it was fun, and great fun telling the tale!
Hi Doug yes if we visit these wild areas, then we have great stories to tell over the years. Amazing spot this, on top of the world, all the best Pat
Always love watching your videos, they're so wholesome and informative with such care and attention going into each video. Keep doing you Patrick, you little gem of a man!
Nicole, such kind words, love making the videos, makes me feel alive these great locations, thanks Pat
I'm from Manchester - the Peak District will always be my favourite part of the UK. I've always loved it. Good video!
Your from the other side, but we both enjoy the hills between, thanks Pat

Thanks Peter, love these amazing sites, love the adrenaline as well, thanks Pat
There's something very life affirming and uplifting about Pat's videos amid the current general insanity in the UK. Thanks so much for your wonderful films, Pat. Can't wait to get back into our beautiful national parks.
Thanks John, having to vary my content at the moment, but I,am sure we,LL be back up in the hills soon, thanks Pat
Done a few climbing routes up there, a long time ago. Seem to remember one called Hong Kong Arête being a bit exposed an hairy, as the wind got up whilst I was leading it. Good times : ) Thanks for that Patrick, I really enjoyed seeing it again.
Hi Nicholas, yes a lot of climbs in the area, and some look really exposed, hope it brought back memories, all the best Pat
Another great video me and my other half are both big fans. Our valentines evening entertainment with a takeaway.
Thanks Sarah, very kind of you to say, I love making the videos, especially with comments like this, thanks Pat
Great stuff pat your a lucky man having all that beautiful scenery on your door step I'm from Lincolnshire & it's flat & boring 👀👍👌👏👏
Thanks Darren, yes we sort of take it for granted what we have on our doorstep, thanks Pat
Only just found this video of yours. A truly amazing place to wild camp and thank you for sharing the beautiful views of parts of Kinder Scout that I've never seen.
Hi Richard yes certainly a memorable and exciting wild camp this one, did keep thinking was it such a good idea with the wind howling round the tent, but that’s what made it so exciting . Looking forward to sharing more adventures up Kinder Scout with you next year……..thanks Pat
Nice to see a bit of snow! The footage is lovely with the drone :)
Yes the drone really showed the area up in all it's beauty, just a bit of snow in the night, couple of weeks ago this, I dare say we had quite a bit more last week, thanks Pat
Thankyou very much Patrick. You enrichen our lives with the great content you have in your videos. A night spent with you out wild camping is indeed a very good night. Thanks for sharing, and all the best to you and your family from Denmark.

That was a wild one!
Stunning scenery and camera work to show it all off, too.
Thanks so much and take care.

Thanks Colin, amazing location, thanks Pat
I love the beating elements of camping. I'm not into camping as such. I like winter fishing. It's such a buzz when the weather is bad and you're tucked up warm and dry.
Yes when it’s wild and cold outside it’s such a great feeling that you are warm and secure in your tent……thanks Pat
"Bewdiful" - Patrick Dickinson.

Hi Pat, Just to say that the event at Bramall Lane Bridge that we discussed is going ahead on Sunday March 22nd. Our group also has a meeting at Hallam University the day before which you would be more than welcome to attend. On the Sunday I'd be delighted if you'd unveil the historical signage we are installing. If you still have my contact details please feel free to ask any questions and hopefully I'll hear from you soon mate, all the best, Calvin :)

Just an all round great Yorkshire bloke. Something about being in your virtual company that just can’t be topped. The Guru. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and skill pal.
Hi Dean, this was a amazing place to camp, such a beautiful but wild place, looking forward to getting back up there soon, all the best Pat
What a great spot, I can see why it's one of your favorites. The drone footage is spectacular. Even red ale running in the streams. Who could ask for more? I hope you got some sleep last night.
Hi Philip, yes a amazing location, thanks Pat
I sit back at night, pour myself a large gin and watch your videos in awe of the freedom you have to just take off and get wild and back to basics. The drone work is exceptional at capturing the beauty of your locations. I find you, as a guy entertaining, funny, knowledgeable and artistic. I take my hat off to you, genius work. You've even inspired me with your whisky recommendation..Glenmoranjie...uurgh takes getting used to but in a tent on a cold night, it must be done. Top guy, top work, well done Pat..!!
Really nice comments Michael, and great to have you join me on my adventures , I would imagine the gin tasted so nice, whisky can take a bit of getting used to, just persevere...... all the best Pat 👍

Hi Wayneo, the drone is super clever, tracks me, goes off on its own, amazing, made for a location like this, thanks Pat
Great footage. Awesome camp site. Great video. Really nice job with the drone.
Thanks, appreciate those comments thanks Pat
Nice one Pat. Found that place by accident last March. Got “uncertain of my position” in cloud whilst walking the skyline. I’ll never learn.😁. Finished up walking 30 miles.😂😂😂
Hi Keith, great location, not bad in summer but totally different in winter, get things wrong up here and you could end up in Manchester, not Sheffield, all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 I remember walking up on Bleaklow back in the eighties in foggy low vis conditions and ended up doing something like that? I was heading from Yellow slacks at the back of Old Glossop towards Ironbower Moss with the intention of walking back to Hadfield along the Longdendale trail. I somehow or other ended up emerging at Slippery Stones at the back of Ladbower Reservoir. Once you are up on that plateau in fog it is as featureless as a desert. Thank God for smartphone GPS these days as you can get an instant location fix. Do you remember 'the Bogtrotters' from the Sheffield side?
Hiya Pat, I love your videos ,some bring me to tears! I grew up in Nova Scotia ,Canada.THE LANDSCAPE REMINDS ME OF HOME! I enjoy everything about your ventures, the teaching of your surrounds.I have a little laugh out loud with your commentary.Love your cooking skills! Wonder if your kids also still enjoy the camping skills your taught them as youngsters? So happy that you conquered your illness , I am trying to do the same. Thanks for being you and sharing your gift with us! Love from southern Ontario, Morag xxx
Hi Morag great to bear from Ontario, that is a big country, we just don,t have the big spaces like you do, although Kinder Scout on this camp is as near as we can get to wilderness, hope thinks get sorted health wise, all the best Pat
Great opening Patrick! Pasta & wind follows. Quite stunning, from my warm living room! EEE, thass has not nesh is thee?
Love the wild outdoors and weather, all adds up to a great adventure, all the best Pat
Absolutely Stunning is right. Everything you put your hands to turns to gold. You have a first class production here, Pat. It is one thing to have a drone but I can tell that you have a great eye for capturing beauty with it. The views are awesome in their content, color and perspective. Your choice of music is perfect for the grandeur. So peaceful and moving. You have surprised me again. Sixteen hour nights, rain, sleet and snow, gusts, 1000 foot elevation change over rock and water, hauling all that weight: You are one tough "old" mountain goat. I am glad your tent straps saved you for another day. I decided that if I lost the Internet, it would be your productions that I would miss the most. Really. I'm not just being friendly. You just keep getting better and better.
Thank you such kind and caring comments, makes it all worthwhile, I love making the videos, and they do take a lot of time and effort, but it is worth it for the kind comments I get, thank you again, Pat
Great post and love the drone footage really does give a feel of the wonderful Kinder

Nice one, Pat.
For music festivals and wind swept rocky crags, ear plugs are a must.
All the best.
Yes the ideal companion, for both locations, thanks Pat
I just loved everything except the porridge. 😆 Thanks for shearing your fantastic adventures.
Do you know I can't stand porridge either but if Pat eats it then I am going to learn to enjoy it.
Can, t beat hot sticky porridge, puts a nice lining on your belly, better than your musella stuff, thanks Pat
Thank you for taking me with you Patrick. I always look forward to your new videos. Good to see you looking so well my friend.
Yes feeling fine and great to be back up on Kinder, thanks Pat

What a fabulous location for a camp! As always your drone footage is excellent. Thanks Pat!

Still catching up on your back catalogue Patrick, this time from hospital bed.
It's 30 years since I was on Kinder Scout and to see it again was fantastic. With two buggered hips I doubt if I will get up there again.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your camp on Chinese Wall. It brought back happy memories!
Sorry to hear your predicament, but it's coming to us all at some point. Yes pleased to say Kinder Scout is still as beautiful as ever, been up there today for a rece, and looking for camping sites, once you done the initial climb which nearly killed me, the rest is easy, all the best with the hospital treatment..... thanks Pat
Dear Patrick Dickinson. Sir. It's mighty good to get to watch you WildCamping. Your as hard as the Chinese's wall you are. Fancy pitching up on a Hard Edge as that. You had us going during the night when the Wind kept you up. Still come morning you was at it bright eyed bushy tailed as ever. You have the food hydration game wired I see. Looked as good as a person can expect. The location looks unreal some quality footage of the Rocky Winter one that were meant to be a summer Bivvi. Thank you Patrick for this good effort WildCamp. See you asp. From Craig Lee. Bye Patrick.
Hi Craig and such kind comments, certainly was a amazing spot felt like a eagles nest overlooking everything below, so lucky to be able to camp in areas like this, all the best Pat
Beautiful spot for a wild camp Pat. You did a great job of showing us the beauty of the place. Enjoyed the video, and well done 👍

Thanks Tony, very clever little machine, thanks for the comments Pat
Patrick me and my boyfriend love your videos! We are only 23 but really enjoy seeing your adventures! We are so inspired by your videos. We own a motorbike and go on lots of trips together and are looking to go to some of the locations to camp! Thanks for the great content. We really enjoy it! Best of RUclips by far. We own a drone to it's amazing what shots you can get in the sky!
Hi and very kind comments, such amazing places out there to wild camp. I did have a motorbike myself, but I was using it so little I sold it, helped me buy my drone, as you say amazing photos and film footage, all the best Pat
Brilliant location and the drone footage has been a great addition to your videos 👍
Thanks Mark, such a beautiful place, thanks Pat
Brilliant, thanks so much for taking us all along; you captured the outdoor "wild camp" spirit perfectly. Cheers Wayne
Glad to have you along Wayne, thanks Pat
Great video there Pat, I know what its like to sleep in wind like that! Me, my Dad and my Sister had the pleasure, when we stayed at Richmond, for the BTCC. We were in the middle of pitching the tent up, and starting to put items in side it, when the wind changed like someone flicking a switch! Just one massive blow and that was it! It pushed the side of the tent in! we thought had it damaged one of the poles. My dad worked hard to peg the stays in etc, we were well battered that night. My dad was on the other side, while me and my sister got the full brunt like you had. Me and my sister didn't sleep at all, just say dozed and that was it. My dad was the only one to get some sleep, but then it was hit and miss for him too. What happened though, was someone had cut a section of trees away, which caused a wind tunnel, so we had very little protection. My dad moved the car over to try and shield the tent a little which helped. After that night and best part of the day we were ok. One of the tent poles did fail sadly, but that was down to my dad tying the tent incorrectly. Having one side that taught it was out of shape. I do miss the days of camping, but the way my dad goes on sadly. I called time camping with him sadly.
Great story of what sounds like a very wild camp, its camps like this that you will remember for the rest of your life, thanks for your story, thanks Pat
Wow words escape me ,you are doing stuff the rest of us can only dream of with no ,BS thank you .what a amazing location and what amazing real world wild camping.thank you again with proper life saving tips as always you are legendary.
Must be one of my most spectacular locations to camp, thanks Pat
Stunning Patrick. Perhaps your best ever. Love all your wild camp videos and working through them all again as I’m recovering from a busted leg. Hopefully back in the high hills by summer.
Sorry to hear about the leg, hopefully you, ll be OK soon, amazing place up on Kinder, thanks Pat
