  • Join author and collector Claire Shaeffer for a quick visit to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco to see the highlights of the exhibition Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style. This stunning exhibition is the first exhibition in 35 years to focus on the museums' Costume Collection. The exhibition charts a visual celebration of style from the early twentieth century to today.

This was such a pleasure to watch, thank you :) I wonder why the exhibition (which I loved btw too) does not have all the pieces you mention.

I love this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could offer a book of patterns for these, as for "Historical Pattern Archive" by Bernard and Linton. I study that book almost every day, and every day learn something new I didn't notice before. Also, Ms. Shaeffer, I have your book "Fabric Sewing Guide" and perhaps you may consider a video discussing each of the fabrics described here, but explaining their use, drape, and care?
