Thank you for releasing lore videos. I feel most Remnant players and RUclipsrs are obsessed with exploring levels to find loot. Your channel explores much deeper secrets. The actual lore of what happened.
You're very welcome. I agree but to be fair, generally the interest for remnant is loot, which I feel is a shame cause there's some great stories in it
i forgot where, but it’s said the first custodian went rogue because it saw the dryzr’s goal having little possibility of success, which he ended up being right. the second custodian they made would not question their directives
Oh nice, I didn't find that anywhere but it makes sense. The second one could question them, but they locked away his control. Gonna discuss that in a future video cause I think the second custodian was up to no good
Superb. Thank you for this. My Co-op friend hates N'erud, but I find its back story memorable and quite chilling. Casting themselves across space in a propelled Dyson Sphere only to eventually conclude that their reality is devoid of all other life. Pushed by a simple need to know and not be alone in the universe, the inhabitants of N'erud locate the center of the universe and after eons of study vote to enter the supermassive black hole with unusual properties. Most concerning to me is the fact that the Custodian never actually tells us what happened to the people when you speak to him. He evades most of it. Just says Entropy. Very suspect...
@freedomofspeechenjoyer5443 Dude, you're basically reading off my next script. I have found so much pointing to the Custodian purposely sabotaging the Drzyr. I will correct one part, in terminus station that is actually part of the memory of the first custodian that we talk to and tries to kill us. You can see that when you retrieve the memory core at the end. I have my own ideas of why the custodian is doing this but you're totally hitting on some great stuff here. Would love to chat more, find me on the channel discord.
Amazing work! You may be the first to be doing deep-dives into the Remant 2 lore and I am all for it! Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait for more.
It confuses me why the Drzyr, with their mastery over matter and creation, never thought to create living things. Maybe they thought it would undermine their great search for other life. You'd think with all their power, that they could easily fill the empty universe with life.
They actually did seed life on other worlds unfortunately entering the black hole caused them to miss out on any life that may have arose from their efforts, they spent approximately 20000+ thousand years in their travels and honestly it might have taken even longer to find actual life native to their universe. It’s heart breaking to know that we arrived when the last one became so twisted and nihilistic and the custodian while friendly, pretty much decided to return to the black hole to either mercy kill all the zombified Dryzr or make another attempt at meeting the creator for salvation. I honestly if it could have been possible saved at least a hand full of civilians so they could chill at ward 13.
I think it's fascinating that the people who work in sanitation and maintenance- which, contrary to what the term "menial" and "unskilled" might imply, require a lot of specialization and skill to do in the volumes required- are often ignored or downplayed when they're what keeps society running. Imagine just how quickly society would break down if everyone involved in say sanitation work or infrastructure maintenance just went poof. I don't know how to repair a phone line, and I'm sure the vast majority of people also don't. And yet instead of honoring the people who are vital to the continued existence of modern living standards, we shun them, treat them poorly, and act as if they're invisible. This is something that exists in countless cultures across the globe, but somebody has to work with waste and repair things that are broken. The tragedy that the workers of N'erud- the ones keeping this entire artificial planet alive- were treated so poorly is damning. It's one of my favorite settings in remnant not just because it's a megastructure that would make Isaac Arthur proud but that it also acts as an echo of what the Dryzyr were: a flawed people that did not want to admit their flaws, because that would make everything they did before that in error. We see this with Tal'ratha and his "ark", along with the Custodian (which is not a Dryzyr but is one of their creations). We see this in how they turned inwards into bickering factions in the despair of the death of their universe. It was not curiosity that killed the Dryzyr: it was the pride of their self-described leaders, so zealous in their conviction that they never thought to think of the ramifications of their actions.
Fantastically put. These are my favorite types of stories and why remnant 2 and the Drzyr especially have shot up to the top of my list in terms of well told stories. They take real life themes and just add enough fantasy to make them digestible. The fact the Drzyr would prefer to go into what was clearly absolute destruction over admitting they were wrong in their mission is just chefs kiss storytelling
Great work. Most - if not all - of the lore vids out there, haven’t even noticed this deeper layer about their society. Hope to see more of these. Good voice, could use a better mic or booth. And you’ll be the Vaaty/Byf for Remnant :)
Losome is my absolute favorite world, it reminds me so much of Bloodborne and dark souls 1 with the castle levels. I love this game so much, I'm glad I just happen to find it one day and give it a shot
This is great. We bled ourselves looking for this content... and now here it is. How did it get here? No... no dont tell me. I see it at the edge of my mind, but i dare not know...
I really hope that the answers are out there and I just haven't found them yet, but it's like, so many questions with this place. What's the deal with weird tendrils coming out of the blood of the corpses? What's going on with the space crabs? How in the hell did Tal-Ratha become *what ever* he became? _Is_ the black goo the "Flare" substance, or something else entirely; In the room where we meet Tal-Ratha, there's a bunch of stasis pod type things with the black goo coming out of them, leaving room for speculation. I haven't read every journal, listened to every audio log, and read every item description; and I wasn't ever going to. But from the videos I've watched from here, and others, it's seeming to me like the answers may not actually exist, which is deeply unsatisfying. At least with Losomn, the answer is "Something Something Magic, Something Something Usurper" more than half the time, but N'erud is trying to describe a process, an endeavor that happened and was documented, as opposed to "recently happened, still kinda unfolding, actually." For a world plot as deeply fleshed out as that which N'erud has, I'm not, personally, gonna be happy to learn the answers to my questions are tantamount to "I dunno, but it really makes you think, huh?"
A couple of those are pretty obvious. Alepsis Taura. Alepsis Taura is responsible for the coating of Ne'erud in essentially the equivalent of a nuclear fallout, and has morphed the Dryzr into monsters. As for Tal Ratha, the ambit ember he bathes himself in for centuries morphed him.
@@meathir4921 I mean, that's cool and all, to just simply say that the black goo is due to Alepsis Taura. But how did it happen? What does it do? If environmental storytelling is what they were going for, then there has to be more to it than just "Black hole cause goo." Besides, a few different item descriptions and audio logs point to the goo being an illegal, controlled substance on N'erud, not caused by the black hole itself. I don't know, maybe it's just me, maybe I want there to be an explanation more than there actually needs to be one.
@alexquan1744 There is some suggestion that the fluid could be flare ie the Dark Fluid concoction. But there is an item description I forget exactly that says something to the effect of "it turned the living into the dead, the dead into the living..." referring to Alepsis Taura. You can actually see that Ne'erud was originally a lush spaceship with grass if you look closely at the floor/walls outside - the big black pillars, poisonous fog and black film that coats Ne'erud are all due to Alepsis Taura. Generally when it comes to lore I assume Occham's Razor unless I have reason to assume otherwise. There's no reason to not believe Alepsis Taura was the reason the flare spread everywhere if it is indeed flare.
Gaming Harry mentioned you and i left him the same comment ----maybe in the future you can do a story telling about Hellpoint , has that N'Erud vibe with a black hole and stuff ... :) .
Thank you to Mr. Harry! Just looked it up Hellpoint and it looks interesting. I'm definitely looking for other worlds to cover outside of remnant so I appreciate the suggestion
So they basically had space.... involuntary labor. Not sure if RUclips lets me say the other word. I don't feel bad anymore for blowing them up with the override pin.
Thank you 🙏🏽 Thank you 🙏🏽 Thank you lol. I kept up with all your Remnant FTA lore content and was waiting for you to start on Remnant 2. I love this series and you’re doing a very nice job of explaining things keep it up man.👍🏽
Also interesting, or perhaps telling, that they should put the search for life as paramount and a pinnacle achievement while essentially forcing a whole class of their own people into servitude and neglect. How sacred can life be to a people who enact such a grandiose plan to find life while showing such contempt for the life of their own people.
I also feel for the weapon smith's of nerud to not have their weapons fully realized because they never found life is kinda sad. Thats why i like running them its gives sort of a "look a life you wished to discover is holding weaponry you bulit".
I believe the reason they had their own do the job and not machines is maybe they wanted that "human" element to improvise and alter plans and ideas on the fly. While the Ofildi were seen as lesser, it's clear that the houses did at least care enough to make sure they were at least protected. Still seeing as how logic driven and efficient the Dryzr were, they would no doubt see emotions as inefficient. From what I see, Xenoplasm helped the Ofildi focus and Flare stimulated their nervous system so they would work harder for longer and I believe the mixture of these 2 drugs is what lead to the deaths described. The Ofildi that took up arms I guess is they believed the first Custodian when he came up with the conclusion that the Dryzr would bring about their extinction and so the Ofildi wanted to stop their race from making a mistake but of course the houses didn't want to believe they were due for entropy and so wanted to try and delay or even deny it. I believe the Ofilfi were allowed to think for themselves and I believe that they also wanted to be Ofildi. It's hard to say but maybe the Ofildi taking flare is the reason why there is black slime everywhere.
Could be. The emotional suppression is an interesting idea for sure. Though I'd disagree that the flare was given to them, it's pretty clear they chose to take it despite the apparent hazards of what it was. It could be that the custodians point struck home for the ofildi and that's why they joined, like you say, we really can't know for sure. But that raises the question in my mind of why only the ofildi, surely some of the other classes would have considered that their journey was futile and the custodian was right, the Xul especially since theyd have played a big part in designing and building the custodian. The only thing that makes sense to me is that they had something to gain or where in a situation that was different from everyone else. The black goo is a mystery I haven't cracked yet, you see it flowing throughout the facilities in vats and through tubes that haven't been disturbed, which points to me that it was there before they entered alepsis. But it could be that it was a different substance that got altered afterwards.
@@Loup_DM Another reason for the Ofildi rising up could be that seeing how the first Cutodian had come to the conclusion they would go extinct, maybe some Ofildi wanted to stop advancing and maybe enjoy what time they had as the Dryzr had long lives bolstered by their tech but it was their greatest enemy as we found out when they went to the event horizon of Alepsis Tarua. The Xul studied what was in front of them, mostly the tech they had. The void and space was the domain of the Astorpaths.
Personal theory, it was a power thing to keep the society in order and their purpose in line. If they let the ofildi off the hook then the computers could do the work of the Xul or even the Astropaths, what would be the purpose of any Drzyr then?

Basically disconnected politicians
Altering they're history to seem benevolent to the general public...dang that has some real world vibes to it.
Doesn't it? That's part of what I love so much about Nerud.
i need more lore!!! nerud is my favorite biome.
Incoming!! Stay tuned.

Yep, trying to figure out the mic issue. Just need to find a better place to record and mess with the settings.

Thank you for your lore videos. As a lore hound ive been loving
I like how you ended the lore video, the same way the Wizard of the Mound, narrated the old Conan the Barbarian movies. LoL
loving the videos, just randomly stumbled upon your channel and i love lore videos. Keep up the awesome work.
