As a huge fan of Dune I love the dune references in N’erud. The ambit ember being the Spice melange, the Astropaths and the navigators, tal’ratha being similar to God Emperor Leto II, heck even the first custodian uprising and the butlerian jihad. So much Dune stuff in Remnant honestly.
As a relatively fresh Dune fan, I also enjoyed these. Though my brain went to Warhammer 40 when it came to massive spaceship worlds, astropaths and navigators. The Amber is totally spice melange though.
I don’t know if you guys have ever seen the D2 lore of truth to power, but I imagine the revelation that they are actually in a micro verse made to be someone’s project would either absolutely shatter them. Or elate them.
I find it fascinating the Dryzyr have xenomorph/insectoid like bodies if you look closely at the crewmate bodies so its definitely that the devs were heavily inspired from both prometheus and dune
Now that i think about it it totally flew over my head that Tal'ratha kinda looks like Leto II in his Worm form. The Way he quickly rolls around and Attacks with his body also seems similar to the way he killed some of the Duncans.
The story of N'Erud would make an incredibly awesome book or movie. My goodness, this video sold me on it. PResentation, evidence, everything! Loved every second!
It is so hard to find lore online but i just came across this channel and the playlist and I'm going to be listening to all of it on my commute to/from work starting from the beginning
Another one, the evening has been brightened! Thank you for delving deeper into this part of Remnant, the Drzyr and their space arc are just fascinating. I can't wait to see which corner of Remnant's rich lore you'll shine a light on next.
It is fascinating that the Dryzyr, in a sense, got what they wanted. They desired a means to undo entropy. It is ironic, then, that such a task required undoing the Dryzyr.
Very good, please continue to create these lore vids for Remnant. The depth is at least intriguing. I like to know more when it's not rubbed into my nose.
It seems that Tal Ratha spent so much time with the Ambit Ember that he perceived what he thought was intelligence and a pattern in the time streams. That would account for why he doesn't believe free will is free. The ambit ember seems to have poisoned Tal Ratha's mind as he used it so much. Also I believe that mission to find life wasn't vainglorious but it held some importance as the Dryzr needed connection and that's something every living thing wants. The energy ghosts are the remains of the Astropaths as witnessed when they climb out of the Astropath pods. There were several Astropaths which accounts for all the energy ghosts. From what I can surmise is that Dryzer culture was split into 5 factions. Each faction was governered by a house and each house had a Seeker that would run N'Rud's government. The Astorpaths directed the Seekers as shamans or Seer's. There is also mention of an Emperor in one of the recordings. I believe that after sometime the logic of the Dryzr soon waned to something akin to faith. The need for other life in a dead universe so they made Alpesis Taura into a god. The question we need to have answered is what did Alpesis Taura do to the Dryzr. Was it time that caused their deaths in the pods or were they already like that. If anything, the energies of Alpesis Taura did something to the Dryzr.
You make some good points on both accounts. We could even speculate that the amber never really showed anything of importance and they were chasing windmills the entire time, thinking it had some meaning where none existed and just trying to assign their own. I agree that their quest had a worthy goal, I think the Primis saying that signifies the sadness and regret at the end of the journey, seeing annihilation as the only path left for them. Which is heartbreaking
@@Loup_DM Well according to the Low Yield Recovery Ring their homeworld went nova (I believe that means super nova) so they had no choice to venture forth among the stars. I believe that maybe the Ember did give some insight but it was overused and the Dryzr wandered aimlessly, that could be why they built the Custodian. Still Tal Ratha was right about the foul smell on the horizon. I believe it gave the Astropaths glimpse and was not an means to an end. They had the means to cultivate life on other worlds it seems, thanks to the soul sparks but it seems that in the end despite all their accomplishment's they advanced too far too quick and so stagnation set in. I believe they wanted something to help advance them because the Dryzr were at a cat 3 or 4 civilization.
@@Loup_DMThe Ambit Ember definitely had some purpose since it directed Tal Ratha towards Alepsis Taura in the first place. The cosmic currents the Astropaths claim to observe are part of what lead the Dryzr to prosperity in the first place. One thing I find interesting is that in the end the Seekers were still split on entering Alepsis Taura. The Custodian seemed to advocate it from the start (maybe this is the betrayal that certain item descriptions suggest? Trying to enter Alepsis before everyone was convinced?), and the Seekers are described in the item descriptions of their keys to be skeptical... except that when you get to the entrance you see that a key is already there iirc.
You definitely earned a sub bro thank you for working hard on these lore videos I am really looking forward to continuing to play through remnant 2. I am almost done with my first time veteran run but I think I might need to go through another run before I go to a higher difficulty. 😁
Curious if you’ve heard of something called the Fermi paradox? The happenings on N’Erud and the plight of the Dryzr puts the Fermi paradox in a certain perspective.
I do wonder, what are the best choices we can make when playing "benevolent" character that wants to help Drzyr... should we help Custodian by giving him acces to core/giving him Astropaths echo, or should we keep the echo from him and destroy N'erud (fighthing with corporeal form of guardian)? Also 16:34 doest this mean Drzyr would figuratively "cease to exist" as species (extinct?) or does Alepsis-Taura somehow influence state of Drzyr echos' consciousness even after their death?
@@Loup_DM I haven't seen anyone talk about the Dran looking like the residents or Corsus either, although I'm sure it's just reused assets, I personally think Corsus is the world that merged with Losomn. Haven't seen anyone talk about this so, so go for it and get it out there man if you think there's something to it.

Very true. I'm still a Dune baby (halfway through the second book) but I know its the base for A LOT of Sci fi stories@@Prockski
Wow I have read dune but missed a lot of references. Good call
well the devs were inspired from both dune and prometheus

Likewise with your comment! I think I have a few more wacky things to cover in Nerud then we'll be moving onto elf bloodborne land.
@@Loup_DM oh that sounds great, looking forward to it!

It was worth the cost to them.

New video every week
so happy to find some lore on this biome this was literally my favorite world.
Thanks so much for adding all this lore content.
Needs Losomn lore videos! Great job!
I love all of the biomes and worlds that Remnant 2 gives us, but man N’erud is my favorite.

Please continue this series! Would love content about Remnant 1 as well. My new favorite channel!
Got a few videos on remnant 1 already on the channel
Bro, come back to us
Been looking for this kind of lore on remnant. Keep it coming 🙌🏽

Don't blame ya, those later levels can be troublesome. Thank you so much for the kind words and support!
Best remnant lore videos as usual
Great videos, thanks for providing an enthralling introduction into the lore for this series. I hope you make more stuff
Awesome video!!! Any chance you are gonna do a video on Lossom?
Yes I am! Currently working on a few for Losom
I love to hear about the lore of Losmn that’s my favorite world in all of remnant 2 😁
That's next!
I'll be honest, loved your take on these, and anxious for the lore of Losomn :)
Like your lore videos. It would be awesome if you made more, particularly about the Dran. Really wondering what's going on with the burning districts.
*100 trillion stars*
Alepsis-Taura is incomprehensibly gigantic, man. That's many *multiple galaxies worth* of mass.
And they were like "we got this."
@@Loup_DM Ngl part of me thinks that at their peak, they are without a doubt the most powerful faction in Remnant overall
The only ones that would have potentially stood against them would maybe be the Iksal with their mind control stuff. @@PBart7
knowing that we are also stardust trying to find other stardust that knows is just profound
I know. I love that part. It's like that quote that says we're just a piece of meat controlling a skeleton with electricity. I feel that

how did you get freecam?
Tal'Ratha reminds me of The Master from Fallout 1.
That's a pretty good comparison
So the root never fester on N'Erud? I'm curious why root would come to a universe that was already "dead". Does the root seek intelligence or what😮
Awww yis. Lore time.
I'm just curious where the insect-like monsters come from? Are they mutated people?
No, they're parasites that existed outside the ship from their home world that grew out of control after the Drzyr died and didn't keep them managed
Why does N'Erud resemble Rhom, and the Drazyr resemble the 4 armed Rhom people?
Great question, stick around to find out my thoughts on that little mystery coming soon

@@DecimusEX Corsus pretty much consumed by mind controling parasites in Remnant 1 . We didnt see anything simular in Losomn yet .
The devs apparently want to bring back Rhom in a DLC . I wonder how they can make it stand out ? We really do have a desert world already in N'erud
This is great!
So what does the override pin do?
Kill Sha Hala, thus destabilising the star that powers Ne'erud and blowing it up
