It’s been revealed that the pool Izlan bathes in is in fact The Guardian. The Guardian, surprisingly, is not dead, but dying. The Guardian’s heart is used to revive it.
Indeed! I learned this as well and will be updating it when in the Ezlan video I make in the future. I've learn much about the dickbag since this one was made.

Great volume of and depth of speech. Love the switch between male and female voice. I am sure you have a great future of RUclips gaming community. Great work. Keep up !
Ezlan was apparently keeping the guardian in a sort of "stasis" and using its power as a way to sustain his own life (that's where he gets the regenerative properties of the liquid he bathes in). His selfishness and greed make it so it's out of the question for him from to end his own unnaturally long life to restore the guardian, so he asks you to doom another world and bring him another guardian heart so he can restore the guardian. You can glean this from the short cinematic that plays after you deliver the guardian heart to him.
Yes I was just talking about this exact thing with another viewer over on reddit. Just goes to show how important multiple playthroughs are. Really interesting that he was using the guardian as a sort of biological battery for himself to extend his life.
@@Loup_DM He also mentions, though, something to the effect of (paraphrasing) "Rohm was turned into a burned out husk and that's how we defeated the Root. The Root retreated from the world. But, now that life is coming back slowly, it's only a matter of time until the Root see fit to return. If Rohm has no guardian, they will succeed. So I desire the heart to create/restore the Guardian of Rohm, so it can prevent the Root's return." While Ezlan hardly seems good, he does seem...pragmatic. As opposed to evil. Now, whether or not he was telling the TRUTH is another thing. But even an immortal Ezlan would realize the Root returning would kill him, too. So it stands to reason he wants the Guardian restored to prevent the Root coming back and killing him as well as his people/world. That is, he may be selfishly wanting to extend his own life, but it's a selfishness that also would benefit his people. ...contrast with the Queen, who outright asks you to kill HER OWN world's Guardian for the heart. I felt bad about Ezlan asking me to do it, but then when I realized the people of THAT WORLD wanted it dead as well... The Queen wants it to make her mind control absolute, to strengthen it, and then to invite the Root to her world so she (or, rather, the parasite/hive mind) can try to assimilate THEM as well, and presumably from there, she would spread across the multiverse. In a way, she's kind of worse than the Root itself.
@@SubduedRadical the Iskal Queen wants her world's guardian dead because she hopes to infect the Root with the Iskal Parasite and incorporate them into the Hive.
My personal theory is that the Undying Heart is not actually the king's heart, but the guardian's. That's why the guardian needs a new one. It's a borrowed power that exposed Rhom to the invasion.
From lore from Akari set vaults (find control rods to open 3 doors for the set) it seems The Undying Kind is a Nui. Nui are outsiders that can activate the portals. He is not from Rhom and shares a visual look with The Keeper. He also has a portal to Corsus and holds the Labyrinth Key. The Undying King is most likely from the Labyrinth. This is probably how he knew so much about guardians and other worlds. Using his guardian to keep himself immortal and wanting the heart of another guardian to revive Rhom's guardian. His story seems to be that of a power quest, God complex. Rhom guardian is not actually dead but dying. Wants to "revive" it so he can presumably stay immortal by forever draining it.
Yea, the Undying King is a Nui. The Akari that meets us at the gate calls him that and says he is the only other one. However I think Nui just means "being that can move through worlds" not necessarily that he's not from Rhom but rather that he, like us who are natives to Earth, found a way to hop from world to world by entering the Labyrinth. Basically he is the us of Rhom except, yea he has a God complex and wanted ultimate power. Funny you mention his appearance and how it's like the Keeper. I think the reason for that is that the Keeper is a "God like being" and so someone the undying king would envy. We know the reason he lives so long is cause he's genetically altered his body(various item descriptions hint at this heavily) so it stands to reason while doing this, he made himself look like the Keeper to better suit his ideal of being a God. His knowledge of the other worlds and guardians was probably gained the same as we did, by speaking to the Keeper and exploring other worlds, even going so far as to steal a key to make it so the only way to get to any place besides Rhom would be through him.
When you speak to the wolf-man, he says that the Buri beleive it to be an honor to be selected by the Vyr as Elzan's chosen once every seven years. I don't think the Buri, or at least the Sul, try to overthrow him
Youre right, the Buri as pretty much subservient to Elzan and his new world. The only ones trying to overthrow him are the smaller clan of scholars (can't recall the name) one of their members meets us at the gate when we enter Rhom and directs us to Ezlan. If you go and listen to that dialog, you can tell she wants to use us as a way to maybe get rid of Ezlan since they see us as sort of godly beings and only a God can kill a God.
@@Loup_DM thre Akari, yeah. According to a note left by ford, they are part of a rebellion, for which the Vyr hunt them. Something interesting to note, is that in that same note, Ford says the closest things to human on Rhom are the mutated Buri, which I find interesting when the Akari look completely human
IMO the gate at Ezlan was used to access their Black sun dust which we see from the desert landscape. Btw rhom's Guardian is the pool that Ezlan was bathing in
Hey,did you check out leto's lab? You can read some intersting things there about their exepriments. But if you play with a friend and he teleports down to the skeleton pile he will see a skeleton each you teleport. It's so creepy because they didnt find teleportation.... they had duplication so the main character becomes a duplicate for the rest of the game with his original body destroyed. Funny to think that the researchers found this acceptable:)
That was a great job but i don't really understand what the Black Sun is? Also the planet has a black Sun wich is impossible meaning it generates light and a lot of heat? Well, my theory is that Ezlan made the sun black by building a massive ship to harness the power of their sun and to power the portal to that place with the material. And he imprisoned the guardian there to power the ship. probably the guardian is weak but turned against Ezlan since he is locked in his "castle" . Yes, Ezlan invited the root to his planet, the note in the herald vault with the akari armor says it. so what did he obtain from the root? we don't know but when you give him the beast heart he puts it in his gamer king bath water and he used "people" from his own planet to sustain him so i guess the enhanced bath water is needed to awaken the guardian and bring it under his control again? And the people of Rhom probably rebelled against him so fast because they want to serve the true ruler of the planet, the guardian. The big guys say the guardian will rise so probably the akari priests told them something. If the root were invited by Ezlan, i don't think the guadian is dead, the elite brutes confirm it. Either way, your story is right until a certain point and we speculate after:D
Well that's part of the fun, speculating! Quick clarification. The black sun is what I believe to be a black whole that was discovered after a portal (Presumably one like the one Ezlan has in the throne room) was built. Called the black sun gate. The reason I think it's a black whole is because I think Black Sun Dust, is actually anti matter that they were harvesting from the egdes of it. (We see both the black sun gate and black sun dust mentioned at different points and in different items) If you read the Void Sliver that you can use to make the Particle Accelerator rifle, it reads that it's a piece of the void itself, a piece from another world. That's why I don't think it's actually the same as the sun we see on Rhom. You're definitely on point with Ezlan and the guardian though I'm still looking into whether he really invited the root onto Rhom or not, there is some controversy on that from what I've seen that I'll try to clear up in the future in another video
