Grace won't stay where she isn't certain that her family will be safe. It is important that if you have a nesting box, you don't peep. A ball of paper like this, or a stick placed diagonally across the entrance will let you know there has been movement in or out, but it won't tell you the species responsible. Wildlife cameras are a great way to get an unobtrusive view into the nocturnal natural behaviours of our humble hedgehog.
