Sort of! But music are subjective. I totally understand you because Opus have a very special tone and one of a kind but I still think that I hear their harmonies and hooking tunes. There are gems that reminds you of Opus in the other albums but you can be sure that Tobias does not stand still in a genre. He evolves the music as much as he evolves the bands looks. That is kind of fresh to me. One thing is sure, all songs grow on you even though you think is bland from the start. Doesn't remember if you listened and reacted to Square hammer. If not, that's a suggestion from me. From Impera I really like Watcher in the sky!
Thank you! I did Square Hammer. I think that was the first or second Ghost song I looked at. I really enjoyed that song and the visuals. Im going to move of from Meliora and check out Ceremony soon. This was not a bad song and I bet its way better live but that first album was just so much fun. Thank you for watching and for your input. @@henrikvidin
This song was nominated for a Grammy, they've been nominated for another one for their cover of Iron Maiden's Phantom of the Opera. Impera is a masterpiece. Mary on a Cross live in Tampa. Faith from a Pale Tour named Death video. Dance Macabre official video where it shows somewhat the start of the lore and backstory. Witch Image official video or any live video with Cardinal Copia. Every album has a new character, but with Tobias Forge, the musical mastermind, under each mask. These last 3 were on the album Prequelle dealing with the Black Death. The final song in that album , Life Eternal, is stunning
Thank you for this. I have covered ghost quite a bit to be fair. This one is just a miss for me. I’m gonna give the full album a spin here after coffee break
@colinlamb you just have to see them live. They're amazing. You get the real vibe when they're live. I found them a year ago and have watched multiple live performances that doesn't do them justice until you're there in person although all the videos were incredible too. I'm sad I missed the Cardinal Copia era as Prequelle is my favorite with Impera a very close second. They're EP Phantomime has 5 covers that are exceptionally well done I saw them in Chicago Aug 15th this year.
Impera is my favorite Ghost album. I really enjoy listening to the whole thing in order, sans Hunters Moon (which is great, but was released as a single before the album came out so my itunes refuses to recognize it as part of the album). For whatever reason, this song is the lowest-energy track on the whole album for me. Kicking off the album with Kaisarion straight into Spillways is such a JAM and it makes me want to dance around and punch stuff. And Twenties is so very fresh and different. Love it. Second half of Prequelle into Impera is just so great! None of the albums have the same vibe as Opus, but I like how the sound has evolved over time. Very curious to see what comes next; a new papa usually means a new sound.
This is the shortened, single version of CMLS. I respect your opinion. Personally - and of course it's just my opinion - I think it's a fabulous song, and the whole of the Impera album is one of the very best recent rock albums. But quite far away however from Opus Eponymous, and Infestissumam. Tobias will never go back to that vibe. Remember, the character changes on each album, both the vibe and the front-man persona. I started with Impera, and worked my way back. Impera is my favourite because it was my gateway - in fact, CMLS was the first thing I heard (the album version). My second favourite is now Meliora. Some argue that it's their masterpiece. Just brilliant - Cirice, Absolution, Mummy Dust, Deus In Absentia, Spirit, He Is - absolutely killer tracks. Then Prequelle, which can get a little proggy and poppy, a strange combination. Then Infestissumam (I agree about Ghuleh Zombie Queen, it took me a couple of listens). I absolutely adore Monstrance Clock on that album, which I find totally hypnotic. Live versions are amazing. Live versions also of Year Zero off that album are *far better* than the studio version. Then finally Opus Eponymous. Not because I dislike it, I really do like it, but it was so raw and different that it took me a while to warm to it. I love Stand By Him, Con Clavi Con Dio, Ritual, Satan Prayer. But Tobias' vocals got better as time went on.... he wasn't really a singer at the start, and it shows on OE. His vocals have got better and better, in the studio and live.
Thank you for this. Its always cool to see the different paths people take to a band. I know TF has evolved since OE and maybe I'm just chasing the joy of that first listen but its just such a fresh take on metal. All those songs were instantly in my head after 1 listen. I like how Tobias takes big chances (like the rockabilly feel on Ghouleh out of nowhere). I look forward to Impera. Thank you for watching and take good care.
When my child (they're 16 today, yay!) started to get their own idea of what music they liked (at the age of 12 - 13) without having grown up with it, they found Ghost, and even if I'm no hardcore fan of them myself I couldn't be happier. Because how many moms of teenagers get to discuss everything from organized religion to all the disgusting dumbfuckery colonialism brought on the world, while talking about the influence and power music have over humanity? "Year Zero" is a song I've seen people hate on EN MASSE while I just sit back and smile... I'm a real fan of "Ghoule" too, but this song took a couple of listens for it to get stuck in my head. Thanks for a great and honest reaction! Hope you find your inner ghoul again. A grown man riding a tricycle on stage would at least get you a wee bit happy, dontcha think? 😹 xoxo From STHLM, Sweden
I'd say if you're looking for something with more energy, listen to either Spillways or Kaisarion from this album. I also really like "Stay," which they released for the latest Insidious movie and features its star, Brian Wilson, with some really great vocals.
Вам стоит посмотреть "Mein Teil", но уже выступление в Париже,оно более наводит ужас. А если говорить про остальные песни то можно "Mutter" "Mein Herz Brennt" "ohne dich" "Zeit"
I enjoy watching your reviews and appreciate the honesty. Some reaction channels definitely pander and it’s kinda gross. I’m a big ghost fan and think meliora and infestissamam are better than opus as a whole. Different strokes. Cheers.
Thank you. There are many songs by my all time favourite bands I don’t like. I try to be constructive in my critiques. With a band like ghost the creative leaps are bold so I expect to not be all in on every album. But it’s not going to stop me going forward.
Is Opus Eponymous Ghosts' real opus?

Yes. Its when Tobias only took credit for writing the songs. Once he actually was doing the writing it went dont hill fast.
@@DMBFAN90 that's your opinion. I have another!
@@henrikvidin correct it is my opinion. And lots of other people's who used to be huge fans before the egomaniac started coming out.

My favourite "air drum" song! 😄 Love them 🤟👻🤟

This song took a while for me to warm up to. I prefer the upbeat songs like Spillways, Watcher in the sky and Kaisarion. 🤘
Thank you. I’ll check those out too. Working forward through the albums
