On a related subject, I enjoyed Amys reference to Narrn and Gadigal (Melbourne and Sydney in the indigenous languages of the region) in the final verse. Good to see indigenous language being used more widely.

The bass is not menacing, it's soul-massaging!! The video and the song are masterpieces! There's tons of symbolism and references for example the cop gagging while picking out a card for a mother he doesn't like. The lovers, the fighters. They guy picking out party favors and smoking a cigarette while checking his pressure in a t-shirt that claims he's dying. Bobo in a dress on a mechanical bull blurring the line between masculinity and femininity. Dev accentuating his trademark hip-sway dance with rotating fireworks, the kid on a leash desperate for his smart phone. The giant bull instead of a horse. This song is great! I'm a guitar player too, and I WISH I could make sounds as good as these guys and their drummer is top notch, too.

As a father of two boys, this song will always hit me to my core. Cheers to parenthood and all it entails.

This is a great ranking! I would swap GWS with The Pod because GWS is a much more grating album (albeit with some really great songs) and The Pod being an album with this feverish, sluggish, slipping in and out of consciousness vibe. I would also place The Mollusk front because of its consistent aquatic, pirate, and showtune themes. It’s not only my favorite Ween album but my favorite concept album. Although Quebec is a very close second. The fact that you mentioned The Argus made me happy because it is such a beautiful and magical song that is overlooked by many reviewers.

Coheed and cambria brings me to tears even as an adult without children. I can place myself in these situations, these circumstances, his voice really shows the weight of the emotion of the story hes trying to tell.

Of courser WPC is happy now. Beautiful wife who was his goddaughter, 2 beautiful children I saw on Paris stage a week & a half ago. He's the owner of a major Wrestling league. He's just now doin' music as tips, for fun. So as a humble artist I am, I'm much happier than before, Further I'm happy, more I loose my inspiration. It's as simple as it. Inspiration comes from ut I'm sad for his music.

Though this is their newest song, it is definitely a great song for getting into the band. Lots of CoCa fans love to recommend coheed songs that kind of require you to be a long time fan. If I were to recommend a song with that in mind, id have to recommend A Disappearing Act. It sort of has the story self-contained enough that it can be enjoyed by itself, and it is catchy af Edit: Bad Man, do Bad Man, please. You will not regret

So what you might be missing is not the context itself, but simply the fact there is a ton of context. Every studio album, with the exception of one, is directly related to its own story arc in the comics, whether grapic novel or short story. Listening to the last track on AWOTWM, is like watching the ending of an epic movie. You can feel it, but you cant necessarily appreciate it because you dont know where story began. Do not get me wrong. You do not need to read the comics to appreciate the songs. I was a coheed fan for 10 years before i even started diving into the comics. But simply knowing that songs on a given album shine in the context of each other goes a long way towards appreciation

The song is a phenomenal capstone to the album, and even better after listening to Vaxis I, on it's own with no context it's good if not underwhelming. Absolutely adore it and absolutely love your reactions.

Hey, long time fan here. Funny enough, I actually found that descending guitar riff REALLY grating. I like most of Coheed, though, so I'm glad you still enjoyed it. My next favorite band is called The Dear Hunter. I'd check out their song Gloria if given the chance. As for C&C, either the song Time Consumer or The Light & The Glass. I also enjoyed Old Flames as another guilty pleasure pop rock song, or Rise, Naianasha (Cut the Cord) for some uplifting, slightly proggy anthem rock.
