  • Beautiful abandoned 129 year old farmhouse with guest house and barn explored. Canada. Explore #36
This farmhouse sits on a very large property that has an in ground pool, tennis court, guest house and large barn. This was once a small farmhouse and was on the heritage list as it was built in 1891. Over the years you can see they added additions on both sides of the house and added shed dormers along the roof. With all the modifications to the original house it no longer met the criteria so the house was removed from the heritage list. This house has been sitting for awhile as there is heavy mold in the basement caused by approx. 2 feet of water. There was a few things left behind in the basement. Items such as Pool table, Piano, Ping Pong table and a Foosball table. The Piano was over 100 years old it was a Mason & Risch upright. I looked up the serial number that was inside the piano and it was made between 1900 and 1910. I couldn't get to the top part of the barn as it was locked but I'm sure it was nice.

    About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

So much fun to go along with you! It looks as though the barn probably cost as much as the house. True horse lovers will put their horses needs in front of their own. It would be interesting to know what the horses were used for. Riding lessons? Racing? Showing? Breeding? Pleasure? Who knows....what ever they did with them I’m sure they enjoyed them very much. Thank you, Brent for a very enjoyable explore! ❤️

The water damage is an easy fixable, The mold is easily fixable, There's Companies that will come in and fix all that, There's absolutely no reason to abandon a House when the problems are fixable.

I agree, it really did give off a happy vibe! The emptiness is a positive sign, imho. They cared… they took it all. They took pride in the home and also the barn… spotless considering it’s been abandoned for years, surely. I liked the Hooligans sign on the upstairs bedroom door. ☺️ A mom who is cool with that is a cool mom, and the kids are allowed to be hooligans. A good sign of happy kids. Nice.

People do know they can treat mold and moisture problems in the basement. Yes that's a more severe case but if you bought the home for the cost of the property then its would be a great fixer upper. My house had it a little and we just had it treated and we have a dehumidifier for times when its moist and a great sub pump.

Many possible reasons it was abandoned. It takes a lot of money to maintain a large house plus there are property taxes people cannot always afford. It is sad to see personal items left behind but the younger generation has their own life to live and some are not sentimental.

This is a beautiful place. Loved the barn. I Imagine that it housed some happy horses.
Fireplace was stunning. Since that was in one of the newer wings I wonder if that was original to someplace else or if it was a reproduction because it looked old. Sad about the basement and the piano. Probably in the early 1900s that was the pride and joy of whomever lived in the house then. You could tell a lot of renovation have been done but pleased that they kept The bull’s-eye door frames. Thank you for taking us with you. Stay warm, stay safe, and be careful.

"Money and the right owner." Green toilet paper is what we use for money. Its only value lies in what we're told by politicians and, of course, we all know they can be trusted implicitly... And just who is the "right owner?" Politicians and capitalists. Politicians are those who actually believe they have the right, at the point of guns, to rule others. And just who are the capitalists? Those who have, capitalizing on those who don't... Is it any wonder that there is an over-abundance of abandoned homes and the homeless?

Mason and Risch was a *top* Canadian make when our piano industry was for multi-decades one of the world's very best - partly because Canada's widely varied climates forced the curing and preserving of wood with great soophistication.

The great thing about empty houses like this is at least the family thought enough to take all family belongings and memories with them! And they didn’t get destroyed!

The house is beautiful, so much living area! But my favorite part was the BARN. I can just imagine what a gorgeous place it was when there were horses in the stalls, plenty of fresh hay and clean drinking water for them. I really hate that it is abandoned and going to waste. :(
