Abandoned House in the Woods with Everything Left Behind! (Barn Finds) Explore # 47

- I was driving down a back road when I missed my turn. I decided to turn around in an overgrown driveway. I looked up and I seen a house that looked abandoned. I got out of my vehicle to take a closer look. Sure enough it was abandoned. I could see all the broken windows and stuff thrown around inside. Everything was left behind here and there was some pretty neat barn finds as well. I did a bit of research on this property and found out an elderly lady lived here and passed away at the age of 97. She was hard working and a very private woman. She only passed away 1 year ago from the date I was there. It’s pretty sad how the vandals came there and decided to smash a lot of her belongings.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

"whiff of perfume" was kind of a ghost-y moment, right?
Absolutely! It stopped me as I thought someone would be behind me or in the barn. I’m not really into that sort of stuff but it was very strange for sure
For sure the earthbound spirit was letting you know they were there
Hello Brent! I hope this finds you well !
Hello Terri!
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada I love the property and you probably were not alone when you smelled perfume. The barn looked awesome. Love the structure of it!
The perfume was a strange moment and you know my videos I don’t pretend to hear ghost 😂
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada I know some do! But I have had that creepy feeling before when you hear or smell something that doesn't belong in the environment that you are currently in.
Sad to see the disrespect from the younger generations. There's a lot of interesting stuff in that house, and I'm sure it was a trove of interesting finds.
Coastal Animist I just can’t understand why kids do that or what they get out of it. What are the parents teaching them I guess nothing.
tdmr As kids we had fun but never ever thought about doing something like that. If I had I would not be here to talk about it my parents taken care of that.
I'm sure we would have looked through things, we would have at least tried to put it back the way we found it. The lack of respect for others property is sad....it's like their brains stopped working!
I think it's not only disrespect. When you intentionally, joyfully destroy someone's cherished possessions it's disdain/contempt for that person--either living or not. They're not just punks having fun. Why would you have contempt for someone who was most likely undeserving of your contempt?
There's something very wrong with people who do this.
It breaks my heart that this person didn’t have a family member or friend who cared enough to clear it out, also the lack of respect from kids ! I hope when I pass that this doesn’t happen ! This is why I am cleaning out my house as I am not working at present ! No my house looks nothing like this at all !!
Breaks my heart to seeing this but I see it all the time. I wish they would just leave it all alone
Abandoned Urbex Canada , it’s funny how karma works but one day when they least expect it, keep up the good work !
Swedish Death Cleaning! Me too!
Honestly the disrespect that some people have with other people's belongings makes me sad and angry. Karma has a very long memory and never forgets.
Glad to know someone else believes in karma
exactly ticks me off when people do that kind of stuff it ruins the authenticity of the place
AUC: "The kids didn't touch the books..."
Me: No surprise there. Kids are repelled by books the way movie vampires are repelled by crosses. 😒
😂
You're so right... something reassuring about those books lined up in order.
It’s such a shame to see the place trashed like that.
It was once somebody’s home, probably a family where the made memories.
Just shows that possessions mean nothing in the end.
It’s terrible that the house was never cleared and things donated to charity or sold.
They either didn’t have family or close friends or were estranged.
Thank you for being so respectful on your explores 🤗💕🏴
Freya, I share your sadness at witnessing this. Brutal, the way it was trashed....But these abandoned houses are not the norm and I dont agree that possessions mean nothing in the end. I think if treasured possessions are left to one's children and remain as a reminder of childhood days and one's ancestry, they can still mean a lot. I take great comfort from the few possessions I inherited from a great aunt or grandmother. What we see here is a travesty of what life and family life should be, and I am NOT judging, as we don't know the circumstances of that family and we are ALL intruding, I'm just sad with you.
Marthie Nel hi there, i understand what you mean but I meant that in these circumstances possessions mean nothing. It’s sad that there was no one to pass things on to or that any beneficiary didn’t want them.
I inherited a lot of items from my parents and treasure them as they are a link to them and trigger memories happier times.
It is extremely sad to think that a person could pass without any family or friends to pass treasured items on to. Xx
Do not open - health hazard. You just couldn’t help yourself - lol. Thanks for another great video!
I had to 😂🤢
But he had his mask on! Haha!! I thought the same thing. 🤣
it's so sad to see things vandalized...a big part of me wishes you would take some things just to save them... really lovin the vids Brent!
I loved that salon chair so cool. Thank you for lovin my vids 😁👍
I almost cried when I saw all that smashed glass in the china cupboard. So terrible when kids do things like that. After the woman died, her children probably went through everything their Mother had. They took what they wanted and left the rest behind. They may even have dumped some of their own unwanted stuff in there. On a Happier note, I did not see any sewing machines! HUZZAH!!! And that whiff of perfume would not be unusual. I used to get that same thing in a house I lived in back in the 1980's. It was always surprising.
Thank you for posting this video.
Yes very sad seeing all this. The smell of the perfume was very strange to me.
That's so sad. People have no respect for others' lives. 97 years... just seeing her home and stuff shows she traveled and was a person who loved to learn... can you imagine the knowledge that woman had?
Toilet paper!! I'm surprised noone took that in this pandemic...lol!!
😂
Esther Gilligan ha ha i thought that too 🤣
Wow what a random find! Cant imagine what it would cost to clean it up and repair the place..extensive expense!
Thank you Brent !
P.s.your blue eyes are popping today!
Thank you! It would take a lot of bins to remove all that stuff. 😁
21:24 This is a antique grain mill. What a neat place thanks again for the videos!
Cool! Thank you for sharing
I thought it had something to do maybe with corn, but wasn't sure.
Yes. It separates the bran from the wheat 'kernels' which can then be ground into flour. There was another one back in the corner in the area where you said you could see through the floor.
Why do people have to destroy things? Really sorry people
Thank you for sharing this, it was such a great explore. It made me sad to see it vandalized like that. Being that she was 97, she grew up during the great depression and WWII and that generation didn't throw out anything. My grandparents home had decades worth of stuff in their home like this when they passed and it took weeks to clear out. Keep up the great explores! Your eyes are so beautiful btw.
That is a hoarder's house, the amount of crap everywhere explains it all.
That is the same thing I thought. It was definitely vandalized. However the amount of the owner's possessions is too overwhelming to not be a hoarder.
Such disrespect is so infuriating! So sad...
Looks like the person that lived there was a horder and the kids just threw it all around
Yes think your right
That's a very old barn by the look's of the floor joists.
Great explore lots to see .. @ 18:31 i could hear static .. like radio static .. was that your camera ? check it out ..congrats on your find .. :) Thank you ..
No it shouldn’t be my camera very strange.
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada strange for sure .. another thing interesting is that you mentioned the old radio @ 19:10 kinda cool .. :) Thank you ..
You probably met the wrecking crew.
Smelling perfume outside would most likely be from smashing the bottle not long before you arrived.
Looks like thieves broke in first, broke the safe and ransacked.
The youths followed up by breaking all the glass.
Looks like her grandson stores his car, stereo system etc there.
Yikes the fridge!!
Thanks for looking..I would have looked as well!
The planes from her many travels. Airport gift shop stuff.
It makes no difference if she was a hoarder or what.A lot of elderly people hoard after losing a mate just to cope with the loss. Those things were her collections and meant something to her. Kids are brats who do stuff like trashing all her things. If she was 97, she must have lived a lonely life before passing and that makes me feel very sad for her. Now, the best thing to do is bulldoze what's left. :(
The disrespect always amazes me but I love your videos. As one person said, in the end our possessions are nothing...
Soooooooo, sad that someone would come in and destroy a place just because they can! I would clean it out, clean it and would live there. I love old house.
For some reason, I always picture these houses in the wintertime with snow blown in through the broken windows and open doors.
A lot of broken windows here
Wow a Mazda MX-6!, so rare and collectible too! Definitely been modified though so a younger relatives?
Thanks! Lucky find! Yes, sad to see all the senseless vandalism. Also, sad to see someone's life belongings left to decay.
Hi Friend! the house is very messy, how many books, look at an old radio that played tapes, I already left my like, a hug from Brazil.👍😘
Hug back thank you 😁
What a great find. Sad when people destroy the place. Great explore
Wow, great explore, sad the locals got in there and destroyed it. Coming up on 20k! cheers 🍻
Ya hate when the kids do that. Ya 20k that nuts I was happy with just 1,000 but having a lot of fun. Thanks man 🍺
Those punks were probably waiting when they [EMTs] took the old person(s) out at their passing or removal to hospice or elder care facilities. A lot of these places are like that: The people living in them, raising families, growing old and slowly deteriorating in health till basic housekeeping isn't possible anymore. Most if not all resist going into nursing care until children intervene (if they have them) or death if they don't. What's left is results like this. Fully furnished homes with possessions left behind to rot. Kind of sad, really...
Very sad, most of the time family comes in right away clears it all out and sells the property.
Love watching your vids, I've got a mate from Peterborough, Ontario and am keen to visit Canada. With your vids it makes me wanna visit so much more.. 💯🔥🤘👍
Thanks man! 😁👍 you should visit after all this corona stuff
It's so sad to see such a lot of vandalism in these empty houses, it's a shame that people have no respect for the homes & property.
that thing in the barn 2 floor is a a crib for grain.
Thank you!
What a lot of stuff! I know it was vandalized but I can't imagine anyone living In that house. Good video.
Thanks 😁
what an explore Brent, so sad to see what kids or whomever has to go in and totally disrespect someone else s belongings, what if someone in the family wanted to go in and find stuff you know ?,, i still think someone may have had a hoarding problem though maybe the lady who passed or her husband,, but wow , never seen so much stuff,,I'm glad you threw on your mask, you can definitely see that mold is forming,,, also,,, what is it with you and the Vultures ?,,,lol ,,you always meet up with them,,lol great explore though keep em coming bud
Thanks Jeff! Yes think your right about the hoarding. Those vultures are very big!
Some people have no sense of respect, makes me angry. That was one hell of a find, so much stuff !! Too bad it had been trashed 😔 Thanks for sharing with us ! See you on the next one 👍
The rot in houses is based on the quality of the ROOF! When I see this type aluminum panel roof, I know there will be little water damage. They are great roofs to have!
Reminds me of the TV program “Hoarding Buried Alive” The family didn’t want to have to deal with all the “stuff” and just walked away. Sad but it happens all the time. RIP
Yes I know that show. It is a metal Illness and most of the time family doesn’t know
I'm someone who is at risk of animal hoarding due to mental illness. If not caught early like mine, it's increadibly hard to deal with, especially for family. Family can't force a person to change, and coming to clean up and declutter for them can cause a myriad of problems as well as possibly enabling the problem.
I was caught early and had professional therapy that dealt with the root cause and the obsessive behaviours before they could become ingrained. And even I was difficult for the family to deal with. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been had I not been forced to move home and my problem discovered early. I don't think my family would have been financially, physically or mentally capa le of helping. :/
Thanks for sharing this Keriel 😁❤️
If walls could speak !! Once again you show respect and that to me is important when watching one of these videos !! And most of the time the kids learn that from their parents, so so sad and may she Rest In Peace ✌🏻 !!
Thanks Jim! I try to be respectful thanks for noticing 😁👍
Wow, that's quite the barn. Used for storage. What a waste. They might have had parties out there before it became filled up with crap. 😳 That almost looks like an air exchanger of some kind.
Thanks for checking this one out, Brent. The vandalism brings to mind "people" who learned the occupant passed and because of her age, thought there may be cash hidden in places in the home. Perhaps there was - perhaps there wasn't... cash is pretty tough to trace but dresser drawers pulled out and ccontents strewn about tells me it's more than just mindless vandalism in these old abandoned homes. Perhaps the vandalism increases when nothing is found... Very sad...
My old neighbours mom passed away and they were going through her cloths and belongings to donate them and they found money and jewelry hidden everywhere in her cloths and around the house.
Do you dream of finding old houses ? After watching these videos I dream sometimes of being in them lol.
around 8:43-8:44 shadow figure walking by right side doorway,..I'm pretty sure...
You come in the world with nothing and you leave with nothing. A life's worth of stuff husband passed first then years later wife passed let the place go down hill there kds didn't give a crap about the place. Probably land sale in probate sold everything in the deal.
That's sad that her things she worked so hard for...are left to rot and be damaged
Always wanted to visit canada, maybe I'll get to one day, I live in Kentucky enjoy your explores
Yes it’s beautiful you need to come 😁👍🇨🇦🌲
Incredible.. like a time capsule!! I feel like there was probably a kid that lived there. The room with all the ties, and the car.. wonder what happened
A beautiful sad house. I do not understand why people feel the need to vandalize a place even if it is abandoned. If the woman had only been gone a year maybe her family just had gotten to come go thru everything. It shows absolutely no respect for people
Wish every country would chop off a persons hands who vandalized bet it wouldnt be long before the word got around. Dont know anymore how they will teach we dont do this to anyones things or property.
It's so sad. They put that expensive metal roof on the house and had to leave. They had to leave everything.
Moto Ski was made by international Harvester.
Those kids should be horsewhipped. Then they should be placed on a work crew and made to work with no pay until the house is in prestine shape. I will never understand those who destroy.
It’s so trashed! Such a shame.
I’m from the area myself. There are a few bad seeds that think it’s fun to smash other peoples things up.
I personally think it’s pure evil and lack of upbringing. I personally would like to meet the parents of these little pricks and show them what damage their offspring has done.
It’s not except-able at all.
Nice to see someone putting out some RUclips content around my area for a change.
Keep up the good work my friend.
Thank you! Yes your right! I’m sure those kids wouldn’t want people doing that to their grandparents or parents place. If I caught my kids doing that I would make them clean the whole house.
Another great video
They were awesome people - who else would have books and bookshelves in so many rooms?
Looks like a hoarders house. Then kids came in and trashed it. No respect for others property.
That machine is an old corn sheller. The insides are missing. The orange one is the same. You missed a safe in the barn.
Those little beast didn't touch the books because they feared they might learn something or they just didn't know what they were stinkin roaches
😂
Why do people have to vandalize?? It's so upsetting!
🙂👍
Another excellent find! You have a guardian angel 👼 with that scent of perfume💕surrounding you. Stay safe !
Never had that happen before it was very strange.
I hate vandals . Thanks for video 👍
Why do people need to go in and dedtroy someones stuff???its not right
Wow My cottage is 1 min from there, been drivin past that place for 2 years+ now and call it “The Ghost House” LOL
Anyway I met the local farmer who has been there his whole life and had nothing but nice things to say about the lady who lived there. I myself have wanted to look around there as the house looks pretty solid from the outside but can’t believe how much stuff is in there. Great lot in great area but will take a lot of work to bring it back! Thanks for video! Would love any contact info if possible but I could probably find it myself. Thanks again! That was worth a coffee! LOL
Yes sounds like she was a lovely lady and very private. Sad the local kids trashed the place. It is on a busy road I find. Thanks so much for the coffee Patrick! 😁👍🍺
I love watching your videos, just got started and had to stop and comment on it. I see so many of these places, just destroyed from youths and I am sick of it. I gave birth to 8 living children, and I know that none of them would ever do this. If anything, they would of maybe played for a while, and picked it up. I'd like to say that they never would of went into the place, but they aren't perfect. I have taught them to be respectful. Respectful of elders, peoples property, etc. I'm sorry, I had to put my disappointment on here.
Your so right, sad they do this
Please forgive me but i don't remember this one! Love it anyway!! Thanks🌟👍😊
Thank you!
In the case of this one I think it was left in pretty bad shape to begin with. However, the vandals just added to it. I never understand why they throw around all the papers. The broken glass and TVs, there is just no excuse for that. I am so disgusted by this place. JUNKED with no respect for the lives these things represent. Thanks for the work that you do to show these places that I would never in 100 years see on my own.
Your welcome Beverly! Yes I think your right
Great explore! I’m curious about the chute like thing at 21:02 in the barn. I spotted another one, different colour. Thank you for not going in the basement of that house 👀😆
Ruby West hi
I don’t know ether I wish I knew😁
Someone replied that it was a grain mill of some sort.
did anyone else yell take the toilet paper! lol kidding!
😂
Nice find Brent!! Kinda gross too lol look forward to the next one. Stay safe!
Thank you😁
Huge house with so much stuff. That cabinet that was trashed looks like it was full of crystal... what a sin it is all destroyed. Ya just HAD to open that fridge 🤣🤣🤣. How come you didn't go upstairs in the house?
That hair drying chair brings back memories for me because my mother had a beauty salon in our house. We had 3 of them chairs with the ashtrays 🤣🤣.
That machine you felt had German writing on it is called a Soviet Grounding Meter Device:
One of the most used analog grounding testers in USSR were М416. From the 21st century several companies produced digital earth resistance meters and testers. The main purpose of the instrument is to determine the adequacy of the grounding of an electrical system.
Maybe her husband was military many years ago.
Thanks Shelley for letting me know about that grounding meter device. I had no clue what it was. I did go up stairs 😂 you must have missed it 😁👍
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada Wow.. lol.. how did I miss that, I was watching 🤣🤣. Oh well. I'll watch again.
Oh I'm back.. Yes I did see the upstairs the first time. I just must have turned my head , missed you walking up the stairs and thought you were on the same floor. 🤣🤣🤣.
It was the same as the main floor. Full
of stuff 😁
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada 🤣 Yip.
definitely a hoarder home, those folks grew up during the depression and a world war, mantra is throw out nothing. Sad to see the destruction, hard to fathom why...
Think your right Raymond
Good morning!..have a nice weekend...i enjoy watching your vlogs
Thank you! Good evening here 😁
I vote for hoarder house. I've known a few hoarders. A form of depression. Looks like walk away, old age to rest home or death. Sad as it looks like the bones of the house are still ok.
Think your right
That woman who made the first comment on this video was dam right rude...I love the intro music and love everything about your video's..You do a remarkable job with your content....Just wanted to say that..Another great video and i want to thank-you so very much for sharing all your wonderful adventures and going back in time with the history that you find
Vandals are the vilest of creatures.
Fantastic Farmhouse find Brent! Seeing things broken and destroyed by vandalism is heartbreaking. I wonder what these people get out of it. It's to bad family members don't take over this beautidul property. Thank youfor taking us along Brent! Stay amazing!❤
What I never understand with these abandoned places is if there is no remaining family how does the state, county or city not step in when said taxes are not paid year after year and either rehab and resell or demolish?
If no family the town or city will auction it off starting bid at what’s owed on property tax
Hubby thinks that box in the barn might be an " electronic governor" used with generators.
Thanks, might be right. I never seen one before
Pigs ransacked the place
Wow the was an awesome find 👍🏻👍🏻
As soon as you went in the barn, I said, very loudly, "Oh shit". I can't even imagine trying to sort though things to donate, sell, or throw away to even try to refurbish that place!!
They did that much damage in a YEAR!! I'm so glad I work with Littles, instead of teenagers!
that car did not look like it belonged
great video!, Really a shame about the broken glasses in that cabinet, looked like a good collection of the 1988 Olympic commemorative glasses, such a waste.
Cool ties, my grandma used to ma,e quilts with them , beautiful quilts! The fridge was horrible but your reaction made me laugh out loud. The kids are horrible, al the glassware destroyed ma,e me suck.poor lady who owned is probably haunting the pla e!
Those are fanning mills in the barn used for cleaning grain for seed. Looks like that place close to Lindsay area.
Thanks for sharing this 😁👍
I find myself wondering if places are abandoned as I drive by now. Lol.
They are everywhere
It makes me wonder if the entire family was killed in an accident. Who just walks away from everything....clothing, papers, medicines, everything? Aside from the floors being covered by destruction from vandals, it's like they were coming back. I don't think it was an elderly couple. There are clothes and personal property in every bedroom and more than one television. Not to mention the car left in the garage that could be restored. I don't believe the owners would have thrown all the stuff in the barn like that. I think at one time it was all neatly arranged, maybe like some sort of shop. People who vandalize don't care what they're destroying.
Maybe it was her perfume that you smelled, maybe she passed by you!
That was very strange as no body was around
Abandoned Urbex Canada - there was, you just didn’t see her!!!👻
"Redrum, redrum" lol. I just can't believe people have so much stuff that they just don't throw away. I'm surprised you didn't break your freakin neck walking through the house & barn. Thanks man for the explore.
something has to be 100 years old to be considered a antique . Everything on that property is trash from the late 50s through the 80s . Except the hand turned wheat thrasher in the barn ...maybe. its more likely from the 30s.thats the machine you didn't recognize .
Place may have been in some form of order until people went in and ransacked it. Disrespectful delinquents.
A whiff of perfume? Yep, I'm out!
Abandoned? Or are they just out shopping at the Walmart?😁
Does this house looked lived in to you? 😂
Hi Brent! 1st this place makes me sad,all this stuff left behind.it makes me think about when I die what will happen to the things I have.i stopped buying knickknacks & useless stuff because of videos like this.now I had to rewind a few times.i know ur doing this alone & no ones with u but around 8:43 I thought that it was ur reflection but when u went into that room there was no mirror.itwas a shadow of a person,it was in the center where the sliver of what turned out to be a window.it went across quickly but carefully it turns out it went into the closet.that was weird.I'm not sure of ur thoughts of the paranormal but that seemed like a shadow person.sometimes going into places like this when u don't know the history & ur just trying to capture a place before it's gone u can capture some unexpected things.😲 then for u to smell perfume as ur checking out & around the barn 😲 that's creepy.i do love these videos & that u stumbled upon it.what a great find 💛💙🧡💚
Thanks for another great video.
Its so very sad to see the lack of respect for other peoples property.
And you know judging by that safe being empty and busted open , who ever ransacked that house took the contents of the safe.....😠😠😩
The overhead views were so terrific I was excited......This house was really beautiful on the outside......I was hoping it would not have been broken and abused......Thanks for taking us with you. It is always so sad to see that intruders have no respect for anyone or their possessions. Even though the place is abandoned there is no need to break and stew and tear things up........at least the books survived!!! :)
Heres an idea....surround the howse with books then kids won't enter..kids hate books
😂
