More and More Boat Projects in the Keys

- As anyone with a boat will tell you the projects are never ending. At least if you want your boat to stay above the water forever. I am prepping the boat to try and sail a few keys closer to my new job to cut back on the daily commute. Now that the engine is running and the sails are up the next step is to find a proper brand name outboard for the dinghy and use the current one as backup. Also going to try and scope out the potential anchorage site and plan the route there. Thanks for watching! Follow me on Instagram at @damon.rust and on Patreon at

12:02 shout out to this young man’s momma for coming through!!!!! Amazing!!!!
She is the best! I showed her your comment and she said "How Sweet" Moms keep the world spinning, and in this case also my water pump!
Just came across your channel. Enjoying your videos. I’m from Missouri too! I have my boat at St. Pete right now, but moving it down to Marathon in November. Maybe we’ll cross paths. All the best!
Marathon is definitely the best key to be in for sailing. If you're looking for a marina I highly recommend taking a look at burdines. One of the cheaper spots in town, quiet and good people there. Hope to see you out there!
Great work on the water pump and outboard motor.. I follow several other sailing channels and it seems a disproportionate amount of time is spent on mechanical/engine stuff. lol if you haven’t, maybe check out a channel called chasing Grace. It’s about a guy out of Charleston, South Carolina, who bought a sailboat and it spent the past year learning about life and repairs on a sailboat.. I think as of late he and his girlfriend are now down in the eastern Caribbean.
The sayings about a boat being a never ending and expensive project are very true but the work is worth it. I will be sure to check out their channel and follow along. That's the dream to someday end up in the carribean
Awesome job with all the projects.
Thanks!
Looks like your doing great!
Life is busy but good!
