This is almost emotional for me as I have TM. I got it when I was 4 and a half and am now 13. Just like her I am able to walk and do pretty much all normal activities. We are so lucky to have these people available to help. Well done to her and her team!
Hi Caitlin, Where is the majority of your injury? my step daughter is 10 and her episode was 2 months ago. She is now in rehab but still pretty much dependent for transfers, and self care but luckily her brain was not affected. I would love to hear about your story
@@nikhilkadam6841 I'm so sorry to hear about that! Everyone's case is different so it really depends. I do know of a person that has completely recovered but unfortunately not everyone does. I still need 4-hourly catheters and various treatments but am able to walk and do most things completely independently. Talk to your doctor for further information as everyone's case is different.

Hello, I am seeking for your guidance. I have a niece in Manila, Philippines who is suffering from Transverse Myelitis and Neuro-Optica Myelitis. She cannot walk now and loosing her eyesight but she can see light and she is able to lift her both arms... the public hospital queue is too long that she is every day feeling the pain and just cry every day... She voice message me asking for help as she cannot bear anymore the pain and that she would like to be hospitalize and unable to wait for the government for her years of waiting. I am helping to best that i can to help her financially. Is there a way of recovery? Appreciate your comment. I am so desperate to help my niece as she is young. I felt bad to know her condition.
So sorry for your loss! 😢⚘⚘⚘ Did the inflammation spead and they could not stop it? So sad that it happened!! 😢 I had it 4,5 years ago and it just spread fast at first and they said they did not know if the medicine worked or not. Bit it finally did. I'm very thankful for that.
Unfortunately not everyone fully recovers from TM and some people never walk again. Fortunately for me I was able to walk again 6 months after on-set but still needed rehab to gain full strength. It all depends on how bad the case is and where the person is affected. With the right mind-set and a good team of medical professionals, hopefully you'll get as much independence back as you did before!
I was diagnosed by Transverse myelitis in june 2021 now I recovered almost 80% up to date oct 19 2022 and for further recovery im not understanding what kind of treatment i should take Can any one suggest me ?
