Love the interview and a much bigger fan of you now than before, but the “embellishments” in the stories are way too obvious, that whole Gallagher story is just a therapy session for you of things you wished happened. But I’m happy for you of that works! Still entertaining.
I’m so glad Carrot Top has the opportunity for everyone to learn more about him. His authenticity has a background that is worth knowing. He is so smart and interesting and so many others will appreciate this interview. Neil has blossomed as an interviewer with true empathy, respect and valid questions. This podcast is essential. ❤️
Scott is awesome. His prop comedy isn’t “dumb” at all like many say. He is creative and very intelligent. I’ve been a fan before the collect call commercials. For those that don’t know what a collect call is, ask your parents
Never understood the hate of this guy -- he's FUNNY! It's dumb and funny and silly and plain ol' entertaining! I like him and I'm glad Neal interviewed him.
Ive realized that in an effort to feel cool and smart ive incredibly unfairly judged CarrotTop. He is so funny and interesting. Amazing storyteller even in a podcast 👏
Carrot Top’s longevity is legendary; however, he has worked very hard to maintain his success. This is a roadmap for anyone wanting to stay successful in a very difficult industry. Insights into his inner thoughts are fascinating. His intensity working on his act is so admirable.
Saw Carrot Top’s show at the Luxor in October. He was fantastic. He’s not all prop comedy the whole time, but he’s 100% hilarious. Sucks that he’s placed solely in the prop comedy category.
Yet I would be disappointed if he dropped the props altogether. I saw him there too . The entire show was really funny and entertaining. Loved how he kept bringing shots to the audience 😊
Neal, I’m a psychologist and therapist (Scott Barry Kaufman is on my committee for the PhD!) and I love your podcast and comedy specials. This is a needed and beautiful thing you are doing. And it’s hilarious too. Keep up the good work Sir! My hats off to you. And due to my rapidly receding hairline, I am increasingly considering hats. 45:41
I’ve listened to every episode of the Champs and most of the episodes of this show and I think this is Neal’s best interview ever. Definitely best non-black guest interview hands down.
This is the hardest I've laughed in a while. I don't know why I didn't expect a seasoned comedian to not be hilarious, it's just that that happens so frequently on blocks
I always loved Carrot Top, I remember when people would make fun of him and I never understood that. He’s always been great, it’s good to see people recognizing that again
Saw Carrot Top at the Luxor a few months ago. Although I’ve always been a fan, I was happy to finally confirm that he is genuinely funny and a super engaging standup. I’ll go see it again next time I’m in town.
phenomenal episode. Carrot Top is awesome. The guy has been successful for longer than I can remember and he's still so grounded, humble and self-deprecating. He always comes across as gracious. This is one of the best podcasts out there. I'm deep in the comedian podcast space and it since everyone always on everyone else's podcasts, the stories always end up getting retold and stale. This podcast actually carves out footholds for new stories from some of these people and I can't be more grateful. Fucking great idea, Jimmy Carr. You, too, Neal.
I will absolutely find time during my next visit to see and support Carrot Top. I am glad he gained the awareness that being made fun of only made him more relevant and lovable.
Wow, Gallagher needed to work his BLOCKs out, but it warmed my heart to hear your story, because the hidden message was that he cared about Carrot Top soo much. Not sure if anyone else picked up on this but Gallagher just had intimacy issues and probably showed Carrot Top more love than most. Awesome interview Neal!
This was ourstanding. I have so much respect for Carrot Top. To have remained a good and loyal friend to Gallagher when he was so mean and misguided is something most wouldnt want to deal with, let alone be able to treat those situations as kind and understanding as you did Scott. RIP Gallagher.
I actually know one of Carrot Top's previous managers, and they always speak very highly of him! ❤ I've always been a fan of you Scott. I hope to meet you in person one day. 🙏🏻👍🏻
I really appreciate Carrot Top just being himself and talking comedy and his journey. This is one of your best to have those great stories and outstanding conversation! Cheers!
First of all another great but dizzying interview. Carrot Top is entertaining. Probably the first interview I teared up and cried over the tragic Gallagher stories. And then I teared up again over the comics coming together to replace his props. Wildly successful guy, but yeah I remember Carrot Top not really getting a lot of respect. Its sad that Gallagher didn't understand that Carrot Top didn't steal his act, he's a descendent of that style of prop comedy that Gallagher perfected, which Carrot Top admired and studied. Carrot Top loves himself and knew exactly who he is, he stayed in his lane, worked hard and was so confident in his abilities despite all of the ridicule. "always stay gracious best revenge is your paper." I wonder if he has Asperger's (now Autism Spectrum).
The older i get the more i appreciate uniqueness. Its a shame carrot top's peak coincided with a time in my life I was so desperate to fit in, I devalued his one of a kindness as gimmicky schtick. In reality, the vast majority of mainstream comics who blindly adhered to the tonight show template were the hacks. I'm pleased to see his longevity because the more I learn about him the more I like, even if i didn't personally "get it" at first.
Damn dude Carrot Top is for real. I'm from the family guy era of making fun of his kind of humor without realizing he laid a lot of groundwork for these kinda bits to still be relevant.
My wife and I needed something to do one night in Vegas and said fuck it let's go see Carrot Top. It was the best show I've seen in Vegas we both laughed our asses off. It was the best.
I have no idea why, but CT explaining his disgust of promotion..and going back on jumping off the Luxor in real time, because it wouldn't hurt...Made me LMAO!😂
Carrot Top was my legit introduction to stand up comedy. I couldn’t have been older than 5 or 6. I had really bad strep throat. Sick in bed feeling absolutely miserable. My mom let me come out and lay on the couch and watch tv way past my bedtime. I turned on the tv and immediately had this weird looking red head dude on the tv with all of these props and he’s just hitting joke after joke not even giving me time to finish laughing at one joke before going to the next. When he was done I heard Jay Leno say: “Carrot Top, everybody! Give him another round of applause.” From that day on I had to see any and all not just Carrot Top but stand up comedy period
Carrot Top is one of my favorite people! I'm hoping I can see him live next time I'm in vegas. He's such a cool person! So nice and smart! So glad he's doing well! Good conversation!
What a great episode! Whoa - the Gallagher and Gallagher Too stories are incredible. What a maniac. Great jokes and reactions by Neal. Super funny, great interview.
I grew up with Carrot Top and always, always liked his comedy. It was frenetic and joyful. A little like what Gallagher and Pee-Wee were doing but more crafty and artful. You never knew what you were going to get, which was fun for a kid.
I only ever knew 'of' Carrot Top. LIke a lot of people outside the US, but this really is a fantastic chat. Thanks for doing the show Scott, and thanks Neal for another amazing episode.
I remember loving Carrot Tops movie as a kid. And to see how humble and down to earth he is, it’s incredible. Happy for the guy. Unfortunate he’s such a people pleaser, but as a comedian, I guess it comes with the territory. Hope nothing but the best for the guy.
Thanks again for having me on the podcast Neal 🧡
Love you Top ...great memories or seeing you with my dad back in the day when you'd come to Wi
Thank you for sharing your stories. A great listen.
Love the interview and a much bigger fan of you now than before, but the “embellishments” in the stories are way too obvious, that whole Gallagher story is just a therapy session for you of things you wished happened. But I’m happy for you of that works! Still entertaining.
legend!!!
bro the bit you do with the box of sleeves instead of tissue is my favorite joke
Talk about a guy staying true to his form and never changing to fit into Hollywood. Carrot Top is a Legend

This may be my favorite episode so far. Carrot Top's stories are fantastic.
1000%
I live 5 hours from Las Vegas and I’m now planning when I can go see him live.
Never understood the hate of this guy -- he's FUNNY! It's dumb and funny and silly and plain ol' entertaining! I like him and I'm glad Neal interviewed him.
It’s plain & simple: they’re jealous.
Ive realized that in an effort to feel cool and smart ive incredibly unfairly judged CarrotTop. He is so funny and interesting. Amazing storyteller even in a podcast 👏
Probably one of your best, Neal. I'd love to hear more from Scott. Thank you both.
Carrot top is so amazing and I love how vulnerable and honest he is.
what a genuinely good dude..love carrot top
Carrot Top’s longevity is legendary; however, he has worked very hard to maintain his success. This is a roadmap for anyone wanting to stay successful in a very difficult industry. Insights into his inner thoughts are fascinating. His intensity working on his act is so admirable.
This pod needs/deserves more views and likes. This is ridiculous, this pod turned into one of my favorites real quick.
Saw Carrot Top’s show at the Luxor in October. He was fantastic. He’s not all prop comedy the whole time, but he’s 100% hilarious. Sucks that he’s placed solely in the prop comedy category.

Loved how he kept bringing shots to the audience 😊
He’s super freaking funny! Always see him every time I go
I’m 40 … heard of Carrot Top my whole life .. but am SO excited to just really start discovering him!❤😊
Have you seen him in Vegas yet!?
Neal, I’m a psychologist and therapist (Scott Barry Kaufman is on my committee for the PhD!) and I love your podcast and comedy specials. This is a needed and beautiful thing you are doing. And it’s hilarious too.

It’s always so funny when two people who love to talk over other people meet. It becomes a loudness battle 😂
This guy deserves his success

What a perfect ending. For two guys that didn't know each other, this was a goddamn delight. ❤🤓🧡🥕
One of the absolute BEST podcast guests EVER!!!
Right?
This was a great one. Man, he has some great stories!
I will absolutely find time during my next visit to see and support Carrot Top. I am glad he gained the awareness that being made fun of only made him more relevant and lovable.

Woah. He’s so mellow! Very cool to know he’s so genuine.
Thanks Neal.💖

I always enjoy listening to Carrot Top…equally between his act and his interviews.
This is one your best. Love to hear more from CT.
I actually know one of Carrot Top's previous managers, and they always speak very highly of him! ❤ I've always been a fan of you Scott. I hope to meet you in person one day. 🙏🏻👍🏻
Carrot Top is a legend and one of the GOATs of prop-comedy. Great episode!
Nothing but respect for Carrot Top
Best CT podcast yet, great conversation on the level.
Always been a fan. He is just all about jokes and making you laugh. I just remember smiling for every minute of this TV appearances.
I really appreciate Carrot Top just being himself and talking comedy and his journey. This is one of your best to have those great stories and outstanding conversation! Cheers!
Very good podcast keep them coming 👍.
I loved that Rickles story at the end of the pod. Great moment between two Vegas legends.
Probably my favorite episode so far. Legend.
Saw Carrottop this summer. Best comic I've ever seen live. No kidding. He does the prop stuff but also lots of great "normal" stories and jokes too.
First of all another great but dizzying interview. Carrot Top is entertaining. Probably the first interview I teared up and cried over the tragic Gallagher stories. The editing on these is hilarious. Bringing up the pics when a guy is mentioned and all that. Idk why but a few got me good
Crazy underviewed podcast.
This episode was so damn wonderful to hear. I love the history of these lovely people that make me laugh.
Nice to see Mr. Top still at it.
I just found out he has a Vegas residency! :)
One of the 🐐, enjoyed growing up with this guy. Great listen.
Awesome show, as always. You would never know that you just met each other. What a great guest.
...this guy stood the test of time...not many can say that...the test helped, tho...lol...may he work forever!...

I love the way you put that
Dude! Love Scott!! Stoked for this episode
Damn dude Carrot Top is for real. I'm from the family guy era of making fun of his kind of humor without realizing he laid a lot of groundwork for these kinda bits to still be relevant.
He said on another pod, he does one new joke EVERY show!
My wife and I needed something to do one night in Vegas and said fuck it let's go see Carrot Top. It was the best show I've seen in Vegas we both laughed our asses off. It was the best.
Scott is the man! Love Carrot Top! 😍 Thanks Neal! ❤
This was absolutely fantastic. I like the energy knowing you two had never met. Great chemistry!
Most interesting Blocks Guest ever!
Thank you Neal. Thank you Scott. 😎
Such a great episode!
I have no idea why, but CT explaining his disgust of promotion..and going back on jumping off the Luxor in real time, because it wouldn't hurt...Made me LMAO!😂
"Gallagher 2, Audience 'nothing' "
That's super funny!
this interview is fantastic!!!

I’ve enjoyed seeing Carrot Top on the pods lately- he’s a great story teller! Fascinating guy.. Great ep!!
I think this is the best one so far!
CT is the nicest dude ever... Met him multiple times at airports and bars and there is not a nicer, more humble person out there.
That was very interesting. Could watch 8 hours of people telling Gallagher stories.
I appreciate the way that can was placed. Nailing advertising that we don't have to listen to. I'm in.
Seeing this interview, I simply love him. What a cool dude.
Carrot Top is one of my favorite people! I'm hoping I can see him live next time I'm in vegas. He's such a cool person! So nice and smart! So glad he's doing well! Good conversation!
C-Top!!!!! Love you man!!! Neal, this show is amazing!!! Keep it going. Respect.
Hats of to carrot top. Had no idea. This was so enjoyable to watch. Excellent segment.
What a great episode! Whoa - the Gallagher and Gallagher Too stories are incredible. What a maniac.
Great jokes and reactions by Neal. Super funny, great interview.
One of the best episodes so far. I always saw carrot top around but never knew him. Now I feel like I do
….”furthest thing from it!” Hilarious…😂 I love Neil and Carrot 🥕 Top is awesome. Very underrated
carrot will always be a top to me woo! great vid kidz!
I grew up with Carrot Top and always, always liked his comedy. It was frenetic and joyful. A little like what Gallagher and Pee-Wee were doing but more crafty and artful. You never knew what you were going to get, which was fun for a kid.
Awesome stuff. 'I will jump off the Luxor' is my favorite new threat
Always a great pod, Neal never disappoints!
Also this is my weekly 'please get Bo Burnham on this podcast' comment ✌️
Neal, your best one yet
C-top is one the MT Rush of COMEDY! Best interview yet. Keep doing you KID! @CarrotTOPLIVE
This was a great episode. Definitely got a different view of who i thought "Carrot Top" was. Great to get some insight into these celebrities.
Totally different experience than most of your podcasts, but it was great to learn more about Carrot Top, the man, instead of just his comedy
Such a funny episode, thanks!
Huge fan Scott. You're top 10 GOAT for me.
Great episode, especially the Gallager and Rickles bits.
Supporting Neal
subscribed,,, carrotop fan here buddyroe.. awesome podcast this one was.. hats off to carrot top for linking this podcast out,, good stuffffff
I only ever knew 'of' Carrot Top. LIke a lot of people outside the US, but this really is a fantastic chat. Thanks for doing the show Scott, and thanks Neal for another amazing episode.
Gallagher vs Carrot Top needs to be a feature length film. Get the bots to start working on it ASAP Rocky.
Gallagher didnt realize that wouldve been the greatest homage n sign of respect to him
For all the shit people gave carrot top, man has shown that he’s a hard worker, a good comic, and a good man. I’ve never heard a bad story about him:
1:10:48 - Neal needs to learn the difference between vertical and horizontal. Gallagher wore horizontal stripes, not vertical.
Hell yes Top. One of the greatest of all time.
That Outro song is great. Someone needs to post it at some point.
Carrot top is the shit. Always been a big fan. The Gallagher story was fantastic! Great ep!
Have always been a fan…go see him in Vegas!
I remember loving Carrot Tops movie as a kid. And to see how humble and down to earth he is, it’s incredible. Happy for the guy. Unfortunate he’s such a people pleaser, but as a comedian, I guess it comes with the territory. Hope nothing but the best for the guy.
Why does Carrot Top always look like he just finished a 12 hour shift repaving streets?
Is it just me or is Carrot Top the Bret Michaels of Comedy
Lolololol
Carrot Top’s trunk of love
Naw Brett Michaels deserves all the hate lol
Only in the quality of their wigs!
I was just thinking Vince Neil.
Love this podcast!
This was a great episode
