Replacement of this exact motor was the very first video clip I ever saw from you, long back and following your simple clear advise was all needed to bring back the life to my otherwise very nice LG washer. Not to forget to mention, all the pride it brought to me for the fine sense of accomplishment and all the admiration from wife in what I can do! Long story short, I'm truly glade I find your extremely fine channel on YT and you are my word of mouth and recommendation, to all my friends. Way to go my friend.
Thanks so much you just saved me time and money. My propeller wouldn't turn all the way and popped it open cleaned it out and spins freely now and draining nice. Thanks
On mine I have a stack the dryer is of course on top of the washer and I don’t have anyone available right now to help me take the dryer off the top, so what can I do to replace it? I have the new pump.
My whirlpool dishwasher drain was stalling intermittently and leaving the machine with standing water at the end of the cycle. Having nothing to lose, I popped the impeller+rotor assembly out to see if it was cleanable and indeed it was. I cleaned all the gunk out of the rotor housing and that repaired it, at least for now. I have to do the same to the circulation pump every six months or so (2-3 loads a day). This is the first time I have had to do it for the drain pump. It seems this is a necessary regular maintenance task for these wet rotor pumps. I've done it so often that I can now disconnect the machine, pull it out, and have the pump off in a few minutes. I've never had such problems with a dishwasher in the past. They just worked for years and years until the were decrepit and obviously ready for replacement. Now-a-days they're super finicky.
Thank you so much for this! My husband works out of town during the week, my washer is giving me a hard time and I NEED my washer lol. I took it apart, cleaned the motor (so much nasty gunk) now Im letting it dry. Hopefully it will work!
I ordered one for 45, it's a nicer one than the Amazon style, and it's actually from LG and an OEM one. The pump I have on now, I took apart and pulled the propeller out and it was full of blank gunky water, so it was definitely the culprit I'm hoping. Waiting for the new pump to come in this week. I'm going to take all hoses off and deep clean with bleach when I get to putting the new pump in just in case it was clogged somewhere
I did as suggested. But it did not work. Another RUclips video told me that Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor needs some slack to start properly. With the glue, impeller is without a slack and the motor may fail to start in some cases. This happened with me. The bottom line is that one has to change the pump.
My LG front loading machines drain motor runs perfectly well when removed but at times it fails to rotate and starts vibrating and does not rotate. Any tip?
I have an original old school tromm and it had a made in Italy drain motor. 17 years old and it just went out. I feel sad to think I have to change it again after 4 years.
Can i check for 120v at the drain pump connector if my door is taken apart. I only get 1.5 volts at the connector when i start a cycle but my door isnt on so it throws a.door code. would that impede it from delivering 120 to the pump?
Does front load water pump sucks water out of the drum & then pump it out? Or water gets to pump from bottom of the drum by gravity & them motor only pump it out? Can you explain?
The pump is at the very bottom of machine. It pushes the water out the drain hose to your sink. So you can still manually wash the clothes if you have a floor drain by starting the wash cycle until the error then pulling the drain plug and switching to the "drain and spin" cycle. Replace the drain plug and switch to the normal or quick wash cycle, OE error, pull the plug, switch to spin, repeat until the clothes are rinsed clean.
@@jj..- There is a short pull out hose on the bottom front of the machine. Open the plastic hatch and a large drain plug holds a clean out basket or a small black drain hose with a lid I guess? I've never used the hose because mine is on concrete with a floor drain.
I have the same LG washer but in silver. The pump was making rattling noises and was not thoroughly draining so I pulled it. I dismantled my old pump and found the motor to be flooded with black wastewater so I think the front bearing seal failed. The motor shaft also had gouges in it. I don't think this repair would work in my case.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel my washing machine had no OE on it spins but not drain I just moved it to new home & was working fine in other home, what suggest in steps to do when working fine before?
It's clear that this pump design is flawed. Mine failed, and the replacement from Amazon failed in 4 days. now on to a 3rd. Considering how many have been sold on Amazon it's clearly a bad design. And mine was full of water also, O rings are not working.

My machine's drain pump was doing the same thing. I took it apart and the whole length of the magnet was cracked/split. I think the drain hose was shoved too far down into the standing drain pipe and waste water had gotten into the motor because of a faulty O ring. The motor was full of stinking black sludge so have disinfectant handy for clean up. Bought a new one so back in business.

Thanks. Your video gave me the confidence to disassemble and repair the impeller shaft connection.
Awesome,
Thanks for the feedback 😊

That’s great info.
Seems like the seal fails pretty early letting in dirty water.

Did it work?
@@DisuzOnYT yes, but I ordered a new one and changed it when I got it

Wow, 17 years is great.

Yeah, you need to have the door locked.
Is the inside packed with somekind of grease? Mine was filed with black slime, glitter and sand.
Might be time for a new drain pump.

It’s got to have something to do with the new big plastic stand pipe in the new home.
Maybe the drain hose is going too far down into the stand pipe.
👍 it may not spin can't remember, was hassle draining from the bottom of it instead of through hose
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel which videos for unblock hose connection &/ fix or replace pump do you have for lg?

For $22. Just buy it!
2 years of service bro. nothing of five years for sure..
It should last so much longer🙀
