I'm sorry if this comment was already touched upon in the video, but I watched it while I worked... is there any reason why you didn't use the vanishing point feature on Photoshop instead of using that grid app you used?
Much like your previous video, this betrays a certain ignorance of how art works, and how you use tools to try to compensate rather than learning how to do the thing properly. When you know perspective, you don't need the grid, you don't need anything. All you show in this video is that you have very rudimentary understanding of perspective and you're nowhere near qualified to teach anything. If I'm hiring artists and I see them doing this garbage, they aren't getting hired. It took you upwards of 12 minutes to set up a horizon and vanishing points.
Does it matter how he went about it? Everyone has a different approach to things. He’s sharing his way of doing it. The internet needs to stop trying to find a way to bitch about everything lol. People can’t even make a video on how to help people without people like YOU trying to shit on someone.
@@qualittyarts Yes, it matters. There are problems with teaching bad technique. Artists will be far better served just downloading Andrew Loomis' books on figure drawing and creative illustration and that's about it. The problem with ergo, and so many other artists in the art community, is that they have nothing to teach, while there are money to be made from teaching. So bad advice spreads, then artists wonder why they can't meet their deadlines, thinking they are impossible, when the deadlines are often possible, they just require good and expedient technique. Taking 12 minutes to do something that takes 10 seconds is definitely ridiculously bad advice. Josh should learn to draw rather than relying on using some product or a service as a crutch. Then he can teach.
One thing I missed, is that you can actually use the roof of the building/fence in the background for a second Y-axis line!
Welcome back!...and keep up the great content, ergojosh!👍

We are so back
Josh, any thoughts/comments on the Xencelabs PD-16 you're using?
Hey @ergojosh. Are you still using the iPad Pro?
Show us everything with art
Is that an extra pen or some multi tasked one?
Both! The bigger pen on the right side of the tablet has an extra button.
First time I see someone referring to the Y axis as Z and vice versa 🤔
Easy use CSP 3D models and draw over them

get a life. let this man do what he wants to do. until you get to his level, keep quite.
@@powertothepod The level of taking 12 minutes to set up a (wrong) perspective grid.
