I think said company was labeled over priced for what you got. 🤣. The ad I saw was a pic from a safari hunt and the caption was along the line of out here it doesn’t matter how good your warranty is.

Exactly, when building my 7saum unlimited class 1000yd benchrifle I was looking at the vortex Golden eagle BR scope. Thank God I didn't cut corners and went with the 15-55×52mm nightforce competition, especially after seeing so many vortex go to shit. Can't have a scope down when Williamsport Benchrest season is in swing cause then the rifles down. I just finished a 6xc for light gun class, and I saved and put a 20-80×56mm March X on it and i love that thing.

My buddy and I both use a Strike Eagle 5-25 and have had zero issues. We went with that over the Arken because it is the safe bet with a proven warranty. Since we are also military we can get the Strike Eagle for $549
If the product isn't good, sell the warranty.

I have the 5-25x50. No issues, works as intended! I did rough handle it a bit as for the turrets. Seems to be sealed well which was my big concern. So far, mine is very accurate and consistent with ranging and balistics data out to 400 Yards on a 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Golden Eagle is my daily driver. I've had it for only about 8 months but it gets almost daily use and I've never had an issue with it. It's the only Vortex scope I've ever owned, so I can't say anything about any of the other models, but this model and my scope in particular has preformed very well.

I feel you Joe. RUclips has been Limiting accessory review vids I've posted in the past few months that I could have SWORN were approved by them previously. Their reviewers are definitely anti-2A biased. They even limited my airsoft review videos from 10 years ago; seriously, airsoft violates their Community Guidelines?! Love your no BS approach. I'm going to skip the Strike Eagle and get a Diamondback instead.

You spoke truth, we're fair and like the truth or not we need it, the first is under attack like the second, stand for both . Your vids have not popped up at all iin the last year when doing firearms related searches about technical questions until today. Glad to see them back,
Finances being a issue and possibly considered odd priorities by some, I may be weighing facial surgery next to my eye or a new PRS to break into LRPR shooting. It's a cyst and I do have some ability to do self surgery but with one eye covered it's a challenge, I may be shopping for a eye patch, where did you get yours?

Nice Video Joe! Kinda crazy to hear all these issues with the Strike Eagle. 😟 Went and bought one any! I typically decide on my purchases based on reviews such as yours and although not doubting all the issues you found, many other reviews by reputable ( At least i think so) You-tubers have spoken opposite of the Strike Eagle. I suppose i find out for myself when i take possession and test it out on the range. Wish me luck 🍀

I own Vortex and Trijicon scopes. I only buy Vortex when I’m feeling too cheap to buy a Trijicon.
Got mine 2/3 months ago and zero issues and a second one. Both with zero issues. GL

From what I have seen in other industries concerning QC is, dont spend time and money on QC just take care of the complaints, this is whats going on.

I have to greatly disagree with you here. I have had no issues with any vortex optics that I own. My Strike Eagle 5-25 is the clearest vortex I own. I own a diamond back tactical 6-24 and a viper hst 4-16. The 5-25 has been the best choice for me and my competition gun. I’m sure there’s always the possibility of getting a bad nut. But you might just be expecting to much.
Then thats because your one of the lucky ones guy. I have mounted a lot of vortex for people in my shop that they buy and bring to me to put on. I've seen more Vortex F*ck up in one years time than I have all brands of scopes combined that I put on for people over the last 7 years of me building custom rifles for people. When someone ask me about a true quality optic at a fair price that preforms I direct them to Meopta or Arken. After what I have seen I won't own a vortex and will not buy Chinese made equipment if I can help it. The marine combat vet in me doesn't allow it
I have purchased three Vortex scopes from Crossfire to PST Gen II and have returned or sold all three. In my opinion and for my eyes there are better options. Vortex seems to me to be driven by fanboys.

@@hochhaul Probably so, but for a sale price of $299, I haven't seen anything else that can match it. But people have to stop comparing Arken $1-2K glass. Its not.
@@user-un5my5bw4j well i can say vortex have upped their quality with their latest range of razor gen 3 scopes,these latest scopes are as good as any other branded scope in this 4000k price range. I recently shot a 300 win mag with a nightforce scope on it that was around the 4k mark and it was no better than my gen 3,in fact the gen 3 has better clarity than the nightforce.

Every retailer I have seen sells them for 699. That’s what I paid for each of mine from optics planet.
While 699 isn’t chicken feed either I haven’t had an issue with either of mine as I own two. I don’t believe there is a scope on the market with its features of the strike eagle, I feel this video is click bait and only made to push people to the lowest priced scopes you push, maybe because they give you the highest margin of kickback? Seems like typical tuber tactics. Also you are staking your review on secondhand scope with no knowledge of how it was even handled befor it was brought to the range for you to look at.

further... you love arken but they sure don't know how to keep their new customers informed. I ordered 2 scopes in mid September with a 4 to 6 week delivery date and now I'm 8 weeks into waiting without updates. I'll take a scope from a company that is responsive over scopes from a company that doesn't keep their NEW customers informed.

Hey Joe! I totally understand your viewpoint here. I've run a Razor Gen II in competition for the past year and have had no issues with it. I'm selling it and getting a Strike Eagle in tomorrow for what is now my wife's rifle (just didn't need a $2k scope on a rifle that will be used a few times a year so thought I'd downgrade and pocket some money for other things). I do however now run a Zero Compromise on my competition gun and there is absolutely NO comparison between the Razor Gen II and the ZC, which is hands down one of the top 3 scopes on the market today. Anyway, Just wanted to say that I'm going to do a comparison between the ZC, the Razor and the Strike Eagle from a Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 scope perspective and will let you now how that goes.

@@372HGS My video is going to be on comparing the three TIERS of scopes: Tier 3 - Strike Eagle, Tier 2 - Razor, Tier 1 - ZC so people can understand what the differences are between the three tiers (workmanship, glass, uses, etc...). I'm not comparing the scopes to each other since as you point out, there is little comparison between those three scopes.
How has it been? I mean the Strike Eagle.
@@niklaslindberg984 hi Nicklas! I still think this is a great scope for the money. I actually sold it to try an Athlon on my wife’s rifle but would have no issue buying another one. Clear glass and great parallax especially for .22 shooting. Thanks for watching!

I love vortex and vortex scopes. I have more than I can count by memory (at least 15 or so). But...they're also the only company I've ever sent a scope in to. In my case, in only fairly cold weather (maybe 20 F), turning the variable mag adjustment ring caused the reticle to "break loose" and turn along with the mag ring. They fixed it fine. But still....
I subscribed a couple years ago give or take because of your airgun vids. I dig some scope reviews too. But u will always have a subscriber from me because u are good shit. Aint enough of that around sometimes. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

I currently have 4 optics by Vortex and all 4 have been great. 2 on handguns and 2 on rifles. I’m no fanboy but I know they work and work great for me. To each their own

Thanks for your reviews Joe, was tossing up between the strike eagle and the element titan, but will pay the bit extra for the titan now, I already have the arken ep4 which I was really happy with and would just have bought another one , but I shot in low light the other day to 1km, and compared it against my mates titan, the reticle in the titan was so much easier to see, and also the arken is sold out at the mo here in nz unfortunately.
Love your videos and appreciate the honesty. My viper pst2 is ok but in the price range I payed for it is a lot of 5 power scopes that a phenomenal and honestly a little better in terms of clarity.

Story of my life... I've sent my Vortex viper 4-20 back twice, HD spotting scope 20-60 sent back 3 times and it needs to go back again. HD 12x50 binoculars sent back once, got me looking at other brands for sure.

Well i am conflicted on what to do now. I have all vortex stuff being a spotting scope, binos, rifle scope, and range finder and am needing a new scope. I like to stick all with the same company for familiarity and consistency but and nervous to get another optic from them after hearing this. I do not use my stuff much and am just a hunter who will use the scope five times a year but need it to work so do i take the chance of getting a good one or switch brands?
