  • The main topic of this video is the comparison between the Rolex Submariner and the Tudor Pelagos. It is about showing that big price differences are not always justified in the watch world when it comes to quality. But that is for the viewer to decide, what is clear though, is that both watches are incredibly good products.
Enjoy and let us know what you think!

A different but very good comparison. You just pointed out the differences between two toolwatches wihtout any luxury bla bla. By the way, I like that you really use your watches. Most people just baby their watches and tell how robust they are...

Thank you for a great video, excellent camera work.
I also buy a watch to wear it.
It is indeed a very personal feeling when a watch speaks to you.
The Pelagos LHD illicited such a emotion in me, I bought it and wear it almost daily. Two years later, whenever I look at it on my wrist, I still get that feeling
I have never seen a rolex that gave me a similar feeling, as I said, it's a very personal thing.

@10:31 Rolex has to update the hands on its watches to full lume on darker dials and/or larger hands for easy readability. The current hands are a dated style and make the watch too difficult to read compared to the competition.

    • @TheWatchScientists
      @TheWatchScientists  2 года назад

Interesting thought. I guess they could at least use different hands for their deep sea or sea dweller. But i guess the Mercedes hands have become synonymous with Rolex.
      Thanks for the comment :)

I sold my Sub 41 and Cermit 41. They are becoming too large and although terrific watches I not a fan of the cyclops. I have this Pelagos blue and it wears smaller than the new 41 subs. I have retained my iconic 39 explorer full lume, a the special Sea Dwellers 16600 and 116600…both are superior in every aspect to the sub. Added the silver 925 58 & I do not miss the newer iterations of the sub

Rolex’s lume is claimed to be proprietary “chromalight,” an exclusive, in-house made lume. It’s not conventional superluminova. While the Pelagos may be brighter, what separates Rolex’s lume apart from superluminova: longer lasting lume.

You are correct- the Submariner featured is the 116610 (40mm with “Maxi Case” and 3135 caliber)….NOT the 126610 41mm model. The reviewer is lucky- the early 6-digit is a much safer bet than the newer models with the 32xx calibers.

I love this watch and have been wanting it for quite some time now, I even had the chance to see it in person and could also wear it a bit but I just don't see myself wearing it everyday maybe because of its proportions. The Rolex sub has the perfect size and feels great on the wrist that's why it will always be a better watch then the Pelagos in my opinion even though I know the Pelagos is a better watch in terms of specifications.

Everyone should buy the watches they want it doesn’t always have to be the most rational or logical decision 😉
You should just be clear about why you want a certain watch so you don’t run the risk of buying a watch for the wrong reasons.

I am torn between these two watches I love the look and functionality of both. If they were priced the same I would go for the Sub all day long just because of the Rolex brand however because the Tudor is half the price and virtually just as good a watch as the Sub I must seriously consider it.

I own both. They are far apart in appearance and quality. Is the difference $5000. USD no. But one is a rough and tumble tool watch the other a timeless classic. It you get a Pelagos and actually wanted a Submariner you will never be totally satisfied. They both full to different positions in the watch world. Again I have both and they are not interchangeable. The Submariner is wonderfully interchangeable going from tool to dress effectively the Pelagos can't punch up that high. I love it but it's a great tool watch maybe the best.

If you really want the Rolex and you buy the Tudor then in a few years you will regret not buying the Rolex. When you then want to buy the Rolex the Tudor will be worth less than half the original purchase price and the Rolex will be even further from your reach. If you want a Rolex buy one and you won't regret it.
