Class of 84. We went to shows all around new england. From Boston Worcester providence and Portland. Providence civic center was the place to see the shows
In 1990-91 I lived right around the corner from George in Paradise Valley. I worked at Bizarre Guitar on 32nd St. & Thunderbird and he would bring in gear he got from companies wanting his endorsement. Pedals, rack gear, etc. I'm the guy who got George his first Trainwreck amp. Fun times. So cool to see him in top form.
@@JeffRyan_88keys The spoken word tour 🤣. Seriously though, Don has been through quite a bit of health problems. Glad he and George buried the hatchet.
@scottdunn2178 I just don't see the point of him up there if he literally cannot sing anymore which he can't. It's amazing that George Lynch is close to 70 and his body is in the same shape as the 80s and he has all the guitar stances and footwork on stage he was doing back in the 80s. Age is truly just a number (unless you've got some sort of horrible disease). He's still got the passion too.
@@JeffRyan_88keys Most people go to see Lynch as his band opens for Dokken. Lynch only plays with Don a few songs at the very end, that's how its been for a few years now. Don's voice is blown out and has been for a decade, everyone knows this and nobody is trying to say the guy can sing like he used to. He also smoked 3 cigarettes that I could physically watch him do during the show behind the amps as I was at the front. They did the exact same set last year in Woodhaven, MI but playing to a much larger festival crowd. Dokken's current guitarist for like the last 15 years or something is Jon Levin who is also a practicing media lawyer when not doing shows. He is incredible and really yucks it up to the people who film him at the front to the point its hilarious, the guy never stopped smiling and joking around the entire time. I should have filmed him as well as hes worth a watch. George really never looked at the crowd much, probably as it was so small, this time he didn't bother playing Mr.Scary either which bummed a lot of people. Not even sure if he threw one guitar pick to Levin's handful.
I remember going to a Dokken concert in SoCal back in the 80’s. Breaking the Chains Tour. I was 2nd Row right in front of Jeff Pilson. I couldn’t believe the energy that guy had from first song to the last song!! And he didn’t miss one damn note!! I was there to see Lynch, and was completely blown away by the bass player!!
That is actually the best I have heard Don sound in a LONG time. His range has been gone for years but at least he is trying to stick to the melody the best he can.
One of the best voices of the 80s/90s, but why does he have to sing now and without a voice I wonder why he throws shit on those many beautiful things that they have created incredible. George is always a powerhouse...
They should do what Van Halen used to do with Dave/Mike and have someone else sing the high parts (aka Michael Anthony) at the same time Don sings the lower parts like he is here
Shit as a younger guitar player from mich i wish i couldve seen this... hopefully they come back so i can witness a legend before its too late😔 Does anybody know what pickups he using now or is it the bascally still the duncan distortion but modified for like the 100th time??
@jwhitty14 Don is 70 years old. It's hard to scream for 40 years, period, much less living a life of decadence and be expected to sound the same. For guitar players like George, it's easy to keep things as they were 40 years ago where many would like them to be for their utopian expectations (as if people weren't allowed to age), because it's the instrument making the sound. But for vocalists, their voice IS the instrument and vocal cords wear out much sooner than electric guitars do. This expectation of vocal cords being as durable as mechanical instruments is absurd. In 2012, Don had overcome stomach cancer, radiation treatments and vocal-cord surgery, and had lasting physical health limitations. Then he had to have neck and spinal surgery in early November 2019. There were some complications; Don's right arm and hand were partially paralyzed as well as overall weakness in his body. It's a wonder that he can perform at all. Few vocalists can hold up this long with this style and demand from vocals. I appreciate him for what he has left.
Don dosn't sound bad here but OMG he played in Fort Hall Idaho la2 months ago and I was embarrassed for him. Sucks to get old especially when you once had an angelical voice.
It's almost that Lynch feels sorry for Don knowing his voice is toast , after being asked " Dude Iam broke and need to do these small gigs " Can you help me out 💰
@@themobseat Well then if Don's not doing it for the money then he's as delusional as a clown, because he has no voice and it's an embarrassment to both the band and fans that actually pay for this Clusterfluck of a show. See you at Chucky Cheese , Make mine a pepperoni when I order 💩
Don needs to give it up and go into producing. Lynch serves as an example of why "rock guitarist" is the best exercise for anyone looking to extent agility into old age.
@@mikemc5221 It's actually Jon Levin's 1960B cabs & JCM2000 heads. Lynch used two 1960A cabs and they were removed after Lynch Mob left the stage. George plugged into Jon's amp setup at the end of the show. George's head (or rack) was hidden behind the cabs, no idea what amp he used for Lynch Mob but at the end he definitely uses Levin's JCM 2000 heads and (4) 1960B straight cabs. (I am a guitar geek like a lot of people and know a bit about gear). All the crew did was put back Lynch's pedal board which took like 30 seconds and jacked it into Jon's rig. Whatever head Lynch used behind the scenes was nowhere near the power of Levin's; Levin's was way richer/and had a definite Zakk Wylde type swimming chorus sound to them a lot of guys try to emulate. Whatever Levin has had done to his 2000's (which is considered an inferior head by many Marshall enthusiasts), they still sounded more like Lynch than Lynch himself.
Graduated high school in 84 . Dokken , krokus , Ratt , Judas was always playing in our cars such a great time to be Alive!! That music still moves me
Yep class of 85 😉
Class of 82 for me. 👍🏻😎
Class of 90 same here. We had the best music 🙂

Never gets old watching George!

Coke, speed!
Seen them last weekend the band was amazing Don did a good job enjoyed the show
George sounds effin awesome!
George has been playing a lot more with Don in the last few years. They must get along better than when younger
I see these guys today. Now I am asking myself if I still can be 70 and sing and play like they do. Thanks Dokken ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Agreed... Don's voice IS slooowly getting better and better!!! ...a ways to go, so more power to him!!
Agree.. and noticed he's wondering around the stage during Georges solo like he's lost. But still pulled it out
Love you Don! Can't wait till that new record drops!!❤
Me too! Im 13!! I LIVE dokken!
Love this album!
Excellent recording 🤘
George has masterful dynamics with newer renditions of his classic riffs. I marvel his creativity and range.
The great thing about George Lynch is, that he never plays the songs the same , so great , love it ....
Sounds bad ass. Hope to get to catch them

Man i miss the 80s
Sad I missed this….I’m local to the venue
Unfortunate for u, Im a BIG dokken fan and im 13!

George Lynch still killing it. Don Dokken, not so much. Thanks for posting..

It sounds OK , I guess... it's hard to tell, maybe a bit loud, kind of noisy. George's solo was killer.
It's almost that Lynch feels sorry for Don knowing his voice is toast , after being asked " Dude Iam broke and need to do these small gigs " Can you help me out 💰
I'm sure Don make more off his monthly royalty checks than you do at your job at the Taco Bell drive thru.

i'll pay to see George.. but i just can't bring myself to see don like this.. just makes me sad more than anything.
He doesn't sound the best, but he's out there doing it. It's great to see himm. When your there, it's easy to get into the vibe. It's Don n' George!
Don get healthy and lose 100 lbs...still a great band.
Bro he is 70 and has arthritis 💀

Not bad but guitar is a tad loud due to Don's lack of range!
Yea totally agree he is definitely not hitting them notes like he use to check out KK's Priest
The guitar is loud because the person recording this is standing right in front of George's guitar cabs.

The guitar sounds loud because the cell phone recording the video is in front of the guitar amp. That's the way sound works.
