I can only describe your videos as 'sewing meditation'. I love to watch them in the morning for a relaxed start into my day.

Grosses Kompliment ❤

I found this amazing video by accident and i am so happy about it. It is insane because, I have dreamt about this dress for a year.
In Algeria, women have velvet dresses tailor made for winter. When my mother in law asked me how I wanted my own, this is how I imagined it (except for the pearls and opened back)
This is an amazing piece of art, congratulations

Also your videography, editing and music choice is so soft and beautiful. It reminds me of creators like Bernadette Banner and Etellan.

I appreciate watching this entire process and your explanations of your fabric choices and direction of your piecing. I find myself really relating to your love for hand-sewing, various types of basting, and the fact that you time you take to make your fabric behave properly (and HUGELY relate as a left-handed person in a right-handed world... love your scissors!) All of this adds up to such stunning and masterful work. I can't wait to see what you do next. Thank you for the chill creativity and inspiration.

I really like your work and how you showcase it. It s like a documentary.
Concerning the sleeves, I would not have been surprised if you had opted for buttons. The higher towards the elbow, the darker and the one near the wrists like the pearls you sewed for the stars… or all very dark.
Your bodice made me think of corset pattern.
I think you can come up with a sky dress. 😊
Also, it reminded me of the tale “Peau D Ane” in which she asks for various dresses that are to reflect nature each time, like a sun dress.

This reminds me of a children’s story book about a girl whose mother left her three dresses, one was crafted with animal skins, the other was as golden as the sun, silver as the moon, and shimmering like the stars. Was this dress inspired by the folk tale/children’s tale? If so, could you make the other ones as well? :)
The dress is absolutely breathtaking and the construction of the sleeves and just everything about it is so well done. I feel like this is such a lost art with everything being mechanized and produced in high volumes like in fast fashion …I applaud your dedication and creativity

Beautiful. I’ve sewn velvet. Like everything else, it isn’t any harder….it just takes more time. The feel of it under your hands is wonderful. Now if I could keep it out of my eyes. I’m sorta self taught and never knew about the things that would’ve made my life easier. I never understood having a mannequin. Once I saw one in use, I finally understood how easy designing could be

Beautiful. Blown away by your attention to detail, including adding "invisible" zips to the lower sleeves. I did think, "Oh-oh! The zipper pulls will fall down", but they look like a delicate piece of jewellery. A more detailed look at how you drafted the back piecing and cut the velvet would be wonderful. In the palest of blues or pinks, this would make the most beautiful winter wedding dress.

Very beautiful. An outfit the "Queen of the Night" from Mozart's "The Magic Flute" would be proud to wear. I like the conscious choice of NOT matching the grain of the velvet on the bodice pieces so that each individual panel stands out. Congratulations on such a stunning piece of couture.

When I saw all the pattern pieces I felt the complexity was beyond any skill I could ever achieve. The dark blue velvet was a romantic as your inspiration. The pearls gently cascading down the bodice and skirt was pure magic.

Simply gorgeous. Many of your viewers seem to be reminded of one thing or another, myself no exception. Your dress made me think of an old bedtime story called The Princess with the Golden Star. In the original version by Božena Němcová, a beautiful woman with a golden star on her forehead marries the kingdom's King and becomes his Queen. They have a child - a lovely daughter, who inherits the mother's appearance. From her eyes and golden hair to her golden star, she's the perfect replica of her mother's beauty. Unfortunately, the Queen dies shortly after giving birth. The King blames the child for the death of the Queen, but comes to love his daughter more and more as time passes and her appearance changes to that of her mother's. He even proposes, or rather demands her hand in marriage. The Princess is (reasonably) horrified, but pretends to go along with her father's plans. She tells him, „I will only marry you, dear father of mine, when you gift me a dress the colour of the night sky, embellished with stars.“ She continues to stall for time when her father complies, asking for, „A dress made from the wings of a rose chafer,“ and, „a dress as light and bright as the sunlight.“ In the end, she ends up running away and becomes a cook in the neighbouring kingdom. Oh, AND she marries someone else!
I suppose I wanted to thank you for bringing back memories of this story - as a child, I'd always imagine the Princess' dress looking as stunning as yours does. Truly, a job well done!

Oooh, I tought about this story too! In Italian is a bit different, in the sense that the princess and her mother don't have a golden star on thier forhead, she's helped by her fae godmother to escape with the 3 dresses and in the end her father repents and gives his blessing to the newlyweds saying he had gone mad with grief when his wife died and didn't realize he made his child suffer too until he thought he had lost his daughter forvere due to his actions...so happy someone else knows this beautiful story 😁😊

@@Kleomenides86 I'll definitely look your version up! I'm always intrigued by how stories (especially fairy tales, as I've a soft spot for them) differ across countries. Each rendition adds something new to the table :)

@@raon7923 Yes, it's so true! I love to collect fairytales and mithology books -even in other languages if I'm able to read them- because I'm interested in the different version of the stories! :)
