I have been a leather smith since 1970. In all those years I have developed many of the techniques that this craftsman has developed and a good many I have not. For such a young man to be such an amazing shoe maker at this age is an amazing feet. His skiving abilities not to mention his abilities to keep so many tools as sharp as razors is wonderous. He should be so very proud to have developed to this point at this young age. I have watched this video almost twice and will watch it many more times an continue to learn from this fine craftsman. Congratulations Siroeno on an amazing job well done and I hope to see more of your work in the future. You are an inspiration to leatherworkers of all types. Thank you, Frank Yantosca t/a Red Oak Leathers
You beat me to it regarding his skiving skills ... especially from 30:20 skimming above the stitch line ... whole nother level ... impressive is an understatement ...
How much you think this shoes cost?
“Amazing feet” I see what you did there, intentional or not haha
Best craftsmanship ever #anamazingfeat
Hi, Frank-san,
Thank you for your kind words and compliment.
I do my best every time I make a pair, but I believe that I can improve the skills a lot more.
As you mentioned, I'm relatively young in this industry so I will keep continuing to explore shoemaking!
It's hard to believe that in the 21st century, in the era of robotics and machines, there is still someone like that, you have golden hands . 🥇🏅🏆
No wonder hand crafted shoes/boots cost so much…the amazing skill it takes to make them is truly inspiring. It was like watching a beautiful butterfly come out of its raw cocoon.
His website lists a pair of shoes for $2445 U.S. dollars. I would be so afraid to wear them
They should cost more. But yea
What's really terrifying is that, at one point, this is basically how ALL shoes were made.
Maybe with (a lot) less attention to detail and finish in most cases... but still...
As a leatherworker... I'm mostly impressed by how perfectly sharp all his tools are. Definitely a proper craftsperson who cares.
So just keep the edge bent the right way?
This was a professional presentation in every way. The cinematography, the lighting, the composition all highlight the incredible craftsmanship of this gentleman. Excellent.
The boots have already gone through 500 steps before they take their first walk.
Fine craftsmanship.
I am completely humbled by the skills this young man displays. What he has created is art. The entire process just pulled me in. This is what RUclips was created for!

My father was a western boot maker. This video brought back lost of good memories. I still have a pair of boots he make for me, they are almost 45 years old. Still in great shape. Every so often I still wear them😊
When people say that is too expensive!!! They just don't realize that a true professional can make products that last decades. Cheers to you and your father.
This was probably the highest craftsmanship skill in shoe making I’ve ever seen in my life. This young man has amazing skills. This work is precious and priceless. Well done

you don't know how calming effect your videos provide me. i watch your videos while i go to bed. i am currently in a troubling relationship and your videos are kind of refuge to me.
Wow. I’m incredibly impressed by the level of skill this young man possesses. I would willingly pay a lot of money for a pair of boots made by him. I had no idea so many steps were required to produce the final product. This young man is a true artist.
According to his web site you would pay between two and a half and three and a half thousand dollars. Plus, a couple of visits to his premises.
I believe it and feel it’s worth the cost to have a pair like this grace my feet…for sure!
To think, there was a time when this kind of work was normal. Now we sit and watch on RUclips in awe because it's such a novelty.
yes, not so very long ago, the region where i live was european famous for its shoe industry. in every tiny village had been a small factory , in Pirmasens the huge companies with thousands of employees. even my 70year old neighbour worked till end of ninenties in such a shoe factory. and now. only 3 were left with in total 100 employes. but the result of breathing adhesives and other chemicals under hard working conditions is often seen nowadays...
They still make shoes the same way for the most past, but they just use cheaper parts, assembly lines, and specialized tools and machinery.
The first reaction might be to snicker at the topic, but watch and be awed by the skill you’ll see. Made me feel good about mankind and that doesn’t happen often these days.
It could become more like this, if we wish for it. What we'd need to do is to pay more for a few well made pieces of shoes and clothing instead of buying many cheap pieces. Buying a good pair of shoes used to mean spending a large part of your income.
@@ApMignonneyes, even in my youth, we purchased one set of sneakers in fall when school started and the were to last you till the next school year. My teenager has several sneakers on an ongoing basis. Crazy!

At only 4 minutes into this video I am already compelled to comment on what a magnificent craftsman this you man is. Definitely watching the full video but I am so mesmerized by his skill I just had to comment on it. Oh yeah, the soft background music truly makes it really enjoyable to watch.
As a former footwear operative in England I can appreciate the skill shown in your video, I have had to make a pair of welted shoes from start to finish but I had machines to help me. The skiving alone must take years of practice. Absolutely absorbing and extremely skillful
From where you get leather?
can you tell me why the HEEL of the shoe have two colors? Specifically, what's the purpose of the dark slope section on the heel? I see it on many shoes and thought it was just for style, but now I think its for a more meaning purpose.
@@shelly-annparkinson831 I know of no construction reason why it is dark, it can only be a design reason probably to contrast witt the sole colour. Also the same reason for the different colours in the heel which is made from several layers of leather all dyed different colours.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how next-level sharp his instruments are?
In 6:38 I think he uses glass
@@sundaedream6088 I saw that. Freshly broken, untempered glass breaks with extremely sharp edges and makes for excellent scraping tools.
