When Mitch Evans drove back inside the building, I couldn't see anything going on because of how bright it was outside.

i mean they habe profile on their tires anyway but I think I know what you mean. The wet tires make it tricky to drive in the indoor section
@@TomMotorsports yes, but going from wet to bone dry and back to wet all in one lap will be challenging, even more so than the tunnel at Monaco
Theyre all weather tyres but even if, it will still be difficult

Indoor section will be a challenge for the on board cameras to keep up with the lighting change. Unless there is a good camera that can adapt, it may hinder the enjoyment of the race.
It not just will be a challenge for the cameras, it is. You see right in the video how they deal with it (almost not at all). I doubt that there are any other cameras available and installed in all cars (multiple per car) within the next 24 hours.
I think their best bet is just to switch over to trackside cameras for the entrance and exit portions, if not the whole indoors section

@@RenanMsV_YT Probably no more than any other tunnel. They should add some stronger lights inside though so the cameras don't get so messed up.
The camera seemed to adjust fine after a few seconds of entering the building.

FE is not F1, I've watched this years Monaco race from the grandstands and there has been plenty of action
You could never do something like this in other formulas. The fumes and sounds would be too much for crew and crowd. So cool to see innovation and the possibilities!!

Look up the Chili Bowl, all gas powered sprint cars inside a state fair convention center. Also it's a dirt race, so all the fumes and dirt you can eat!
Wow! I didn't expect the pits to be in the indoor section. It looks like a kart track. Of course a kart track Formula E style is amazing! 🤯

@@nutchunder I don't know about that, but I can count on one hand how many don't have any. Alot of them were used in the first few seasons and then never used again.
There needs to be hairpins to create heavy braking zones for regen.

@@apexgt4 Isn't all racing about speed? That's the whole foundation of auto racing, get to the finish line faster.
@@albertorivera4485 faster, but that doesn’t necessarily mean speed, lots of good races come from slow cars. Get to the line first is a better way of saying it

Wow, this really going to test the physical of the driver and the car. Different temperature of the track and the constant exposure to sunlight and indoor that put the strict on the driver.
How on earth can someone deal with the changes in light levels? Mad respect to these crazy bois .D
It's so weird and admittedly cool that I've walked through and cued on those last few turns.
Formula E was crazy to include this in the calendar. And I absolutely love it!
That is COOL!!! It kind of reminds me of Boswer's Castle in Mario Kart video games.
Formula E is always pushing the boundaries! This is clearly no exception. A shame the cameras can't keep up with the changing light conditions like the human eye.

my god, i'm seeing that driving arround this will be extremely complicated, there will be the lighting effect from going to a darker to a more lit area, and i guarantee it will be a challenge to choose a helmet to drive on this track.
From the onboard camera it's difficult to see the wall in turns 6-7 with the lighting change, I hope drivers can see it better
The indoor sections feel so unique, does feel slightly odd for me seeing Formula E cars driving exactly where I've stood dressed as comic characters but odd in a very cool way

Now, this looks like it will be an interesting race for Formula E. I cannot wait for the 2022 race when all being well, fans will be there cheering the drivers on.
There are some seriously tight turns on this circuit that could prove problematic.

Some of these are blind corners, not because you can't see it's trajectory, but because you can't see, period! Hahah, this sounds fun to drive on a fast lap, although figuring out braking points might be tough if the onboard camera's view is anything like what the drivers see.

It has lights. The came is just a bit slow to adjust the exposure

When is this go kart track open to the public?
We had tickets booked for 2020, would've be our first FE event. Gutted we still can't be there this year. Still excited for the race on TV though, track looks awesome.

The most indoor thing in F1 is going under or over a bridge. This is so cool
0:33 that is a NASTY light change. Don't know if the camera makes it look worse than it is but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple drivers at least bin it there
That's the camera thankfully, human eyes can adjust much faster and can prepare for brightness changes

I know it would take away from the electric car experience but if these things had gears they would sound so cool! It just sound like you’re driving a really aggressive dogbox which has it’s own flavor of excitement to it in my opinion.

This is apparently the weirdest of currently functioning racing circuits and one of the weirdest of all times, if not the weirdest at all. AVUS, Roskilde Ring, some temporary courses in early post-war years, the circiut at the New York World Exhibition Place, where the course had went through the gates can welcome the new addition to their strict club.
I like such bizzare layouts and hope both the FE bosses and race organizers will keep such an approach to the track layout for future events

It does - Monaco and Mexico are both used (though no Mexico this year as the tracks been turned into a hospital)

The camera white balance is adjusted from the steering wheel, just another responsibility for the already busy drivers. Not many people know that.
