No BS obnoxious music and "flash bang" video editing No BS showing off for the crowd or "every bike is golden" promotion Instead, every time it's a thoughtful, knowledgeable and, dare I say(dare, dare), ethical review and for that Zack, I thank you.
Of note, and this may sound odd, but one thing that I appreciate a great deal is your shenanigans on the bikes. Because I have noticed that you don't engage in them to show off for the viewers. But instead they appear to be incited by the feel of the bike, the character of the bike. That's one of the most difficult things to gauge from a motorcycle review video, that fun factor. Some bikes just don't have it, some do and when you, as a tester, can't help yourself but to go a bit nuts, that's a good indicator to us viewers that the bike is inherently fun. Thanks for the good work Zack.
steel braided brake lines, liquid cooling....Apparently you can make modern american motorcycles while retaining history, heritage and on an entry level bike no less. *Take notes harley davidson*
The Indian Scout may be the better bike in every aspect except the sound. The sportster still has the proper sound. I don't like the sound of the scout, but it's a modern engine design.
@@aapdddnow the sportsters dont even exist. But yes indian did a good job making it look heritage it looks high end. Plus they got jt liquid cooled and it doesnt look like crap on one side but not the other like harleys new nightster and sportster s which i dont like
Simon Vuylsteke Chase's reviews are....meh. Not awful, not particularly helpful. He umms and ahs and then says "it feels kiiiiiinda like (some other bike most people haven't ridden) but nooot really, I dunno guys" about literally everything he rides. Also he knows fuck all about motorcycles so all his comments are literally just vague descriptions. He did an entire review of a bike and kept mentioning this weird engine knock he was hearing - it was the choke being open the entire ride.
chaseontwowheels review: "erm mer gerd, such weird seating position. Er mer gerd so much power! Wow it handles so well down this traffic congested dead straight road". He's a twat.
Thanks for keeping it real and down to earth. Nothing fancy, nothing stupid. A motorcycle, a commute and a guy who knows his stuff. MC commute is one of the best things to happen to RUclips for motorcyclists looking for reviews and info in recent times. p.s I did notice how busy your left thumb is even with an auto off indicator switch. :p
Man I want that bike. It's nearly perfect. I love the colors, the 5 speed, simple gauge, accessories, styling, stock exhaust sound, grips, and lights on the front and back. Gorgeous in every way.
I've had a mc license for 44 years, been riding a scout 60 for a year now. The 60 is dramatically de tuned to make it polite for the entry level types. The map is different to compensate for the higher compression and lower hp of the 60 compared to the larger displacement Scout. This bike can become a monster with a few tweaks, its no weakling to begin with. Paughco goose necks, K+N filter and a re flash with the excellent non invasive Power Vision CX by Dynojet worked wonders. It's alive now, sounds like a V twin and will lug from low rpm. Hit the high rpm's and the motor's Formula One designer's heritage comes on like a rocket launcher. A seriously outstanding motorcycle before and after the mods
Hey Zack, another great review. I bought an Indian Scout in Nov 2016 and love it. I chose the Scout over the Scout Sixty as the Scout has 100 hp / 72 ft lbs vs the Scout Sixty with 78 hp / 65 ft lbs. Both bikes weigh the same. The Scout really hauls ass! I have a Ducati Monster 696 and I swear the Scout feels faster. The Scout and Scout Sixty are very well engineered and for my taste much more fun and enjoyable to ride than the Harley Sportster 1200 Custom I used to have. If you do decide to go cruiser shopping and want a "full size" bike, check out the Chief and Springfield. Both are really good looking well made bikes. Thanks again for the great video.
I felt the same way when I test rode the Scout. Its a fun, comfortable cruiser with a great motor. I think its appeals to someone who was into sportbikes because the way the engine revs and make power, its feels free revving and peppy.
These are maybe the best bike review on youtube.. please don't stop doing them. i watch every one, even if im not at all interested in the particular bike :-)
I got the scout bobber. I love the way is builds power and how you can wind it out in all gears without that high pitched whine of other bikes. I still got the fz09 but had to rid myself of the x diavel. Just couldn't integrate myself with the Ducati mistique.
Great review Zach. I've been looking into this one for some time now. I laughed when you mentioned the guy on the old school Aprilia wearing shorts. Working in the medical field I always call the guys who don't wear gear "skin donors". Keep up the awesome work!
If the riding position bothers you there is all sorts of options for that. Peg relocation kits, different seats, different bars, etc. Might be worth looking into.
You're not number one cruiser fan in the world, you say. Well, I think that makes you a good judge of this bike. Yours was a proper, objective view. I too am not really a cruiser rider although I happen to own a Honda Shadow at the moment. I enjoy it despite the obvious limitations of the chassis.
I'd keep my Suzuki SFV 650 I got new for $6.5K. or get 2 of them for the price of the big scout lol. Definitely gonna keep this in mind when I want 'Merican Built next time. Great video!
Nice review. Really like the scout/scout sixty, hoping they will do a road version of the Indian flat tracker they built, something with just a bit more suspension travel.
Great review as always brother. Why you guys don't have a million subs is beyond me. Just don't like this bike for some reason water cooled American bikes turn me off. I will have to get used to it though only way the tightening emissions will be met. I still like the 883 over this bike in the price range. Again great review. Is Ari ever going to do one of this or is it just your gig. Thanks guys for the great content. ...
I would love to be an out of context witness to this. A man gets off his motorcycle, stands there for 10 seconds looking at it. Gives his bike a thumbs up. Walks away.
They took 6th gear out to artificially create more differentiation between the two bikes. It probably cost them more to do it but it gives more people a reason to upgrade.
Nice review. Like you, cruisers aren't my bag but this one is a beaut. Trouble is when you were at the start of the journey you passed an Aprilia and raved about it. My SL1000 is in the garage waiting for the summer sun to melt the ice here and you've reinforced my bond with it dammit.
Indian Scout is one of the few cruisers I would buy. Just love the look of it, as well as the performance. Zack, did you ever get a chance to ride Brian Hatano's regular Scout longtime loaner? Also, off the top of my head I can't remember if he still has it, but if he does, could you do a walk around video review? Thanks for the great videos Motorcyclist crew!
I have a question regarding the radiator: As you said, it looks very 'broad-shouldered' and fits the style of the bike well but would being built into the frame not also make it a real pain in the ass (or wallet) to repair or replace?
Well, it's extremely uncomfortable, the range is ridiculous due to the tiny fuel tank and it's not fast at all. On the other side it sounds great and it looks amazing! ;)
Really? My Sportster was great! However, I had the normal size fuel tank on it, and that is because I got sick of visiting the gas station every 2 days. It was comfortable for me, and honestly, it wasn't slow at all! 50 horse is more than enough for highway and around town, its just that everybody is used to 175 horse you would see from a ZX10 or those other Japanese bikes.
YEAH not a bad review I have a feeling most folks would love the ride position, I'm 15 years on a cbr rocket laid out for track so I totally get this guy when he says 'nope.' I was looking at this, the Tri bobber, & Indian bobber ended up with the Tri Thrux R, I needed that semi crouch position just don't think I can ride with the feet up.
just fyi indian makes an extended reach footpegs and seat for taller people and reduced reach set too for smaller people. and i even saw a video of a wheelie with a 60!! XD
Now I'm only 5'5" and getting a bike has always been something I wanted, but I was worried that it'd be too big. Would this be approachable for someone shorter?
Hi love ur video's, do you think you would review the Triumph 2017 Bobber. I hear so many polar opposite reviews and I'm interested in ur opinion. thanks!
Great review but if I have one gripe, as I sit here looking out my widow as the snow piles up and temps drop well below 0 f .... for crying out loud, does your ride though the palm trees always have to be so darn sunny?
love the reviews. they make sense. but I do have one issue......auto cancel turn signals. worst idea ever. if you can't pay enough attention to know when your turn signal is on, you are a literal danger to yourself because of a lack of focus. same with driving a car. if you can't tell your signal is on, give up the license. OK rant over. keep up the good work!!! (ps don't make a mountain out of a molehill with the whole no abs thing. it'll be fine. lol)
Zack, would a Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Indian Scout Bobber and or the new Harley Davidson Street Bob 107 be of interest to you for an MC Commute episode? Reason I think you'd enjoy the street bob in particular (despite riding position) is because it is the lightest H.D. on the new soft tail frame by atleast 48lbs or so. it makes great power to weight probably the best in the harley lineup save maybe the V-Rod and shares that smooth riding characteristic with it's soft tail brethren. The two Bobbers are just plain fast, mid sized cruisers which is nice.
hey guys can you do a video on the mods allowed for super-stock racing vs full super bike. i know reg may vary by race association but just a general comparison is fine
Can you do one extra test on each bike? A panic stop to see if the forks bottom out. My biggest beef with so many,, not all,, but so many bikes is mushy forks.
hadi allahbakhshi Yep, commute to school year round on mine. Amazing all around bike for the money, very light and easy to ride with plenty of torque for wheelies (depending on the views of local law enforcement) while not having too much top end where you feel the need to triple the speed limit like you would on a true faired sports bike or liter bike. Couldn't recommend it more. Just make sure you check how much it will be to insure it, progressive wanted nearly $2,000 US a year for full coverage.

You're one of the only motovloggers that release legitimate reviews, thanks for that they are realllll good.
chaseontwowheels makes some good reviews imo
He is awesome as well.
Simon Vuylsteke

I second what Eliot said. Most motovloggers know shit about bikes, they are just interested in their subscribe numbers.

Aamir Khan does the scout sixty have auto off indicator?
Vivek .J yes he talks about it in the video when hes on the free way merging to the hov lane

biggest thing I learned from this video? Zack doesn't get to the office until after 9am..
Zack Courts Sun lol. Come to Finland. Those poor buggers don't see the sun from one year to the next.
Had this bike a little over a year, love it.
My motorcycle! I even have the same color, though I went for a tan leather seat. Almost 4,000 miles in 3 months and I still love it. :)
I love MC commute, great concept, great practical info!
Those mirrors are so good, I can see all the mistakes I've made in the past.
Glad you're back Zack!!! You are a King of cool!
I felt the same way when I test rode the Scout. Its a fun, comfortable cruiser with a great motor. I think its appeals to someone who was into sportbikes because the way the engine revs and make power, its feels free revving and peppy.

A like for your awesome job, for the bike abd for the format of MC Commute. You guys are definitely a reference in Motorcycle reviews.
I like the little whistle at the end of the rev! Almost sounds like a triumph
I love my Scout Sixty. Love it even more after some simple mods.
Great review Zach. I've been looking into this one for some time now. I laughed when you mentioned the guy on the old school Aprilia wearing shorts. Working in the medical field I always call the guys who don't wear gear "skin donors". Keep up the awesome work!
Another great episode. Would like to see a bmw s1000r or s1000rr!
Dalton Williams I think there's just too many reviews on those bike. I would love to see review on my bike, H2.
I love how the Scout looks
Same.....it looks pretty cool!
If the riding position bothers you there is all sorts of options for that. Peg relocation kits, different seats, different bars, etc. Might be worth looking into.
Please review the Guzzi Audace or V9. Thanks.
Love the look of this bike! Especially that front wheel fender

Good review Zach. The bike is heavy and mildly powered, but I couldn't get past seeing your legs out front. Nicely built.
They took 6th gear out to artificially create more differentiation between the two bikes. It probably cost them more to do it but it gives more people a reason to upgrade.
Regarding your leg position you can get a seat that's sits closer and the pegs can also be moved in 2"
That's the Dealio! Haven't heard that since Napoleon Dynamite :-)
How is reliabilty comparred to honda? Ease of fix and maintenance? Im 6.1, would it be comfortable? Very pretty bike.
I got shadow
The Scout's name fits. It's cool. Too bad no Godzilla movies in the mirror though! 😜

Gotta see you rocking to work on the 2017 grom Zack!!!
Zack Courts Awesome, cant wait man. Love the vids
Dude… you were wrong on all those numbers lol.. the 60 has 78 hp, 999 cc.
Love these. Just wish it had a better exhaust note factory
Indian Scout is one of the few cruisers I would buy. Just love the look of it, as well as the performance.

The radiators cradled by the frame rather than being built as part of it.
Would love to see a review of the Harley Davidson Forty Eight

Decent mirrors AND auto-cancelling turn signals?! Hokey smoke, Bullwinkle! Looks like a fun bike.
Very nice review...perhaps the best for this bike. I hope that you can do a review of the 2016/2017 Kawasaki Vulcan S
just fyi indian makes an extended reach footpegs and seat for taller people and reduced reach set too for smaller people. and i even saw a video of a wheelie with a 60!! XD
I know I've said this before but dude, you're the best. no home. Maybe a brohug
Your reviews are really nice. Good job !
BTW rear disc is huge !
Should have done a commute on the Octane!! Got to ride one and loved everything except the seat.
would love to see a Honda F6C. I see so little about that bike. great vids :)
Good review... I'm not into cruisers but I'll ride anything and this looks like it would be an enjoyable bike.
Now I'm only 5'5" and getting a bike has always been something I wanted, but I was worried that it'd be too big. Would this be approachable for someone shorter?
Yes. The low seat height and center of gravity make it very manageable for shorter as well as taller riders.
Sweet bike. Im in the market for a bike and specifically a cruiser. I’m drawn to the scouts and I see pretty much this exact bike for 8.5 grand.
man...I was looking at Vstars for my entry level bike...Not anymore.
Raven Personal Defense Systems did you buy the Indian?
I have one myself. I love it. Got saddlebags and engine guards on mine. Will get the windscreen in a bit. :)
Question: would you recommend the scout sixty over a Honda Fury, the fury over the scout sixty, or do you have a preference? Thanks!
man you have my dream job! i ride an 06 zx10 lol
Hi love ur video's, do you think you would review the Triumph 2017 Bobber. I hear so many polar opposite reviews and I'm interested in ur opinion. thanks!
2018 Scout Sixty cost 23.000 USD in Norway 😔
No need to complain. It's 27000 in denmark
Good morning. When are you going to get your hands on the new Vstroms.
I think I’m gonna get this as my first road motorcycle .
I know I'm late to the party, but that's a lot of bike for 9k. Looks good to boot.
Is this bike doing 70/80 comfortably?
If your tall they sell different seats and handle bars. My wife started out on one and moved to the Springfield.
would it be a bad idea to get this brand new without any previous riding experience?
wish they would make a blacked out bobber version of the 60
Great review, thanks!!!
how about a comparison to the victory octane ?
if only they could actually go about above 8000 rpm
Hey what backpack are you wearing, and are you wearing motorcycle pants, or regular pants?
There are some riders that just scare you when you watch them ride, this guy is one of them.
would be epic if you did a review on those aerostitch suits youre wearing!
Great review but if I have one gripe, as I sit here looking out my widow as the snow piles up and temps drop well below 0 f .... for crying out loud, does your ride though the palm trees always have to be so darn sunny?
Zack Courts Ummmm ... (as I look out on snow covered streets) sure, you have my sympathy.... 😉
The exhaust note somehow remind me of triumph Daytona and street triple
Interesting bike. I'm not into cruisers, but i know a couple of people who could consider it very seriously. Do they sell these in Europe?
love the reviews. they make sense. but I do have one issue......auto cancel turn signals. worst idea ever. if you can't pay enough attention to know when your turn signal is on, you are a literal danger to yourself because of a lack of focus. same with driving a car. if you can't tell your signal is on, give up the license. ABS should be standard on every street bike now. That is my rant!
Can you do one extra test on each bike?
A panic stop to see if the forks bottom out.
My biggest beef with so many,, not all,, but so many bikes is mushy forks.
Is it comfortable??
I’m not in to cruisers, but Indians are beautiful
I like your pants.. (I know.. a strange question.) But seriously, what kind of pants did you have on? Thanks!
One correction the Scout Sixty is 78hp not 68hp.
Great review brother.
Please do a review of HD Forty Eight
Gripe :- seat height and seat positioning........ 😂 Erm........ That's the whole point of the cruiser design 🤦♂️
I would like Zack to review a super tenere, that would be cool!
always like the commute videos, btw what gloves you wearing?
Zack Courts thanks!
Moved house, Zack? I couldn't put up with the feet-forward position.
victory octane next!!
78 hp/65 ft-lbs stock*
Why did you look like the how to train a dragon cartoon dude in the beginning lol
Would the FZ-07 be a good commuter bike?
hadi allahbakhshi Yep, commute to school year round on mine.
