I'm 6'3" 185 lbs and thought the scout was comfortable. I rode it on a trip for 1000 miles and it felt great. Very comfortable.
What about Kawasaki Vulcan s abs650 se? I'm 6"2 160
I'm 6'3 too and I was looking for a bike to fit me.
6'3.....all i needed to know...
1000 mile RIDE...comfy
Awesome thanks!
will my 5'4 5'5 ass ride fine and comfy on a scout?
dumb question real man rides what ever he wants
including motorcycles. lol.
@Donald Trump's Space Force
You must not like women.
Not if you don’t fit on it you don’t. Guess how I know?
I think he means that scouts are too short for taller people
exactly
Hey Sean...I am 6'5" and weight 470lb. I bought a 2018 Indian Scout and I may look ridiculous on it but I love it. I fit good, its comfortable and I have no trouble with power and getting up to freeway plus speeds.
Neither do I on my 08 Nightster stage one with woods cams 128 fpt 118 horsepower…
Ain't nobody gonna tell you nothing I'm 6'5" and weigh half as much and never got no lip even driving scooters keep riding!
James you made my day I'm 5-10" weight 330 I been wanting busy one but only thing that stopped me was I would look funny riding
My daily driver for 2 years and I’m 6’4”, 225- so definitely- only time it feels small is when you go two up on it.
I'm 5'8" 150 lbs, with all my gear on. I bought my 2015 used in 2017, with Dirty Bird "muffler" that had to be baffled, for one it wouldn't pass Mass inspection due to noise restriction, and two I'd have been deaf in my right ear if I didn't! Even still, you can hear me coming a qtr mile away! I LOVE this bike! It's quick, nimble, easy to handle and it turns heads when I'm coming and the heads follow me down the road as I'm going! It gets a ton of compliments, everywhere I go. At a little over 550 lbs + 150 lbs of me on it, the 69 cubic inch (1,130 cc), with 100 horse, gets my ass down the road pretty quick! The Indian line is FAR more affordable than a Harley and the don't "mark their territory". Compliments to IMC!
Hey Shawn, it was great meeting you and Caleb yesterday. Great review on my Scout...I agree with everything you said. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Larry Mullins thanks for letting me ride it
Nice bike!
I’m looking forward to buying a bike here shortly. I’m a beginner rider with some moto experience. I’m in between a Scout and a Street Bob. Give me your honest opinion, please.
It's a great bike, Comfortable and plenty of power.
Larry Mullins I bought a 2017 Silver Smoke! Best decision I made! I love this bike and the power will surprise you!
2:29 Dude, you NEVER EVAR do a wheelie on Someone Else's Bike!!!
Unless apparently you are Sean of SRKcycles, and feel like give it the beans. Then you just make sure you stick it.
You dont trust your homies thats fine
@@donjear2226 or you know that the bike is super cheap and can buy him a new one if he wrecks it
For you larger fellas out there, 6'1", 220lbs+. I would recommend an after market shock upgrade, both front and rear- not cheap. 5'10" under, 200lbs or less, great bike for you as is, very lightweight. Side note, I would never put on another man's glove. Never know where it has been.
Been thinking of picking one of these up for a while now but wasn’t sure cuz I’m 6’1 265lbs what would be a good brand for shock upgrade
If you're 6'2" then you just made me very happy, as so am I and the Scouts in the UK are around 10-12 grand. That's extremely tempting for newer riders or even future riders that don't even have their license yet.
I seriously don't see the 'girl bike' issue at all, especially as some of the bigger 'manlier' bikes have tassels hanging from everything but the nipples.
MickMaan I bought mine brand new 3400
From the dealership too
@@thatbmxguy8949 where
Here in spain we have them at 14,5k eur.... not so tempting
Did you buy it? How is it? I'm 6'
The Scout is my watch list. I've loved Indian motorcycles since I was a little kid and saw them on a History channel Modern Marvel's episode and thought the Chief was the coolest bike I've ever since. The cool Chief features are now on the Springfield (wish I love as well), but sadly both bikes are too heavy for me (I'm 5'2" and very light). The Scout however felt nice. In my travels around the East Coast for work last year I managed to find some dealerships that carried them and had a chance to sit on them and check out their features, but I didn't get my license until this past June, then moved to Alaska. But I'm back in NJ for a month and going to try to snag one for a test ride, finally. Good friend of mine collects and restores old Indians and has a '76 that I adore but it's in Finland, so it'll be a while until I see it. The Scout has really grown on me over the last few years. Fingers crossed it'll be a good match when I ride one next week!
Very classy! The lines are super clean. A great marriage between the classic look with a modern and minimalist approach.
I'm 100 miles from the dealership but I got one because I love the 50s/40s look it has. It's also fun as hell :)
I test rode the Vulcan S and Indian Scout the year they debuted at Daytona Bike Week. They both became some of my favorite motorcycles of all time. I wish I could have both, but I'll probably end up buying the Scout.
Before the Indian Scout, V-Rod, Victory, and Vulcan S, was the Kawasaki VN700/750. V-Twin, DOHC, four valve, four spark plugs, shaft drive, 22 year production run. I ride wings, inline twins, fours and 2-stroke triples. The Vulcan 750 is just a fun bike and can be found quite inexpensive for new riders.
Good to know. The Scout 1100 is one i have been considering when it is time to replace my 99 Shadow 1100. I do like the fact that they are American made.
kawasaki vulcan
So far, I'm leaning towards an Indian rather than a Harley 😎
Smart move !
@@andrewdods2236 I have the scout.. Awesome
Almost anything over a Harley is going to be less headache, faster, and more reliable.
@@363.2McMasters yea, but Harleys, all but the sportsters, have an art aspect to them, they are somewhat handmade and custom painted for the most part?
It’s a status symbol that holds its value, even appreciates sometimes!
I dream of a Harley, but Japanese bikes have done me very well!!
Indian being Polaris, and what they claim, does seem much more American and good for America to me!
@@bmint Harleys ain't all that, its the hype (they know how to market) and styling and people want to be in the club, that sells them. I've ridden many of them over the past 25 years and none have been more reliable as my Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe frankly. Buy and ride what you want, I rode Harleys for 25 years until the Yamaha and I'm glad I switched.
True about the brochures man. I test rode this and HD during Aimexpo this year and the scout was so much better. Smooth shifting, plenty of power, looks awesome. I am 72 inches and it wasnt too small for me.
I have a 2016 scout 1200 and I absolutely love it . Only thing is they’re super quiet . Just put on Vance and Hines straight pipes slip ons and it made worlds of a difference
well I bought one of these a year-and-a-half ago and I love my Indian Scout as a matter of fact I'm watching this video probably for the third time now but I got to go for a ride see y'all later have a great day!
Rode my buddies last summer. To cramped on it. 6'4" 240 lbs. Bike is a nice bike just not for bigger people. Vulcans so far have been the best affordable big bike for myself.
I've had my 2018 since September. I have a little over 7k on it and I couldn't be happier. I decked it out with the passenger touring seat, back rests, windshield and saddlebags. My wife and I take all-day rides with no issue. I WOULD'NT try that with the standard pillion seat! Plenty of power. We've taken it up to Payson from Phoenix and it was a great ride. I'm only 5'8 and feel like I'm leaning forward a bit so I'm thinking of possibly getting the mini-apes or the reduced reach bars so I can sit more upright. The desert tan color of the bags/seat really complement the burgundy metallic finish. It's all class.
Great vid! You make me want every bike you test ride.
I was waiting for you to review this bike! Agreed with everything. Went from the vulcan s to this. Love it!! The vulcan was awesome but this thing is like the bigger better brother.
That thing sounds amazing. It also fits a wide variety of riders. One of my co-workers has one and she is only 5'2" and has no trouble riding it.
Same here. I'm 5 foot 3 and 118 pounds. I love my scout 60. I tried my boyfriends Dark horse Indian Chief, I wish I had longer legs for his bike. Also rode our Indian Jade green scout too.
I think it sounds like a weed whacker. Needs some aftermarket pipes to give it some growl.
You can't tell the real sound from a gopro with headset microphone.
You can tell it sounds like a weed whacker, in serious need of custom exhaust therapy.
@@Hero_of_Legend I've heard one start up and take off next to me. It sounded super wimpy. Looked great, sounded terrible. My first thought was "Needs exhaust."
I ride a Chieftain Limited, and recently bought my wife a 2019 Scout. The Scout has plenty of power and jas so many ways to make the bike more comfortable. Hers has the mini floorboards and mini apes, and will soon be adding a set of Viking saddlebags.
I had a 2018 Indian Scout. Absolutely awesome bike in fact, I'm going to pick up a new Scout 60 Bobber either later this week or sometime next week. Indian offers options to accommodate tall and short riders. Most people never look into this when looking at new bikes. Most just assume that how the bike feels on the showroom floor is how the bike will always be. As far as the "It's a girls bike" attitude I just reply with, I've seen girls ride bikes likes yours so I guess your bike is also a girls bike. Fastest way to shut them up rather quickly lol. The Scout 60 is basically the same bike as the Scout except with just a smaller engine that has a little less HP, 78 HP compared to 100 HP for the Scout and only has a 5 gears instead of 6.
Thank you! Love got my eyes on one of these. Great review.."Michael Jackson style..." lol I'm dying..
I am loving my new Scout. Chose it over the 1200, glad I did.
I grew up in Lancaster PA but have not been back much in the past 40 years. I was a little distracted watching the vid, thinking Wow, that looks so much like PA! Sure enough I clicked on the link for SRK and found it is in Landisville. Thanks for the ride home! BTW my Dad had a 4 cyl 1939 Indian when he was a young man.
Ron Roberts lol same, I’m in Riverside PA. I watched one of SRKs vids a while back and right away I’m like “this is def PA” and like you said, “sure enough!” Haha. I’ve accidentally came acrossed other PA motovloggers and said the same thing.
Ron Roberts my mom is from Lancaster and my uncle lives in Landisville
Are you a cop? If not, then mind your own business.
Great videos, but you should include a few clips showing how you look as you ride, by from the point of view of someone standing on the side of the road, just so we know how the bike/rider looks going down the street.
Be very careful letting it sit there at idle. They have a tendency to edge forward, the side stand will lift up and the bike will fall.
I love the scout i want one!
Watching this and I'm like "man that looks like Lancaster area. And what do ya know, there you are in Landisville. Have some Hot Z Pizza for me, I moved away about 5 years ago." Nice review.
7:07 arent all gloves one-handed? 😅
Long live The Indian Scouts. Love mine. Pushed it to 140 mph. PCV and pipes, (need aftermarket airfilter). Hauls ass!!!
Hi
The 1200 HD Sportster has higher seat, less lean angle, less hp than the 60 , 1.25 shorter wheel base, same 5 speed .
Similar bike but a little out done !
Love the look of this bike . Size wise ,it looks like its similar in dimensions to a 750 shadow(obviously not the motor). I love my 750 just want more power .
Dude you are funny without being an a**. Great channel! Hey question for you tho. I’m thinking of the Indian scout bobber or 2018-Present fat bob which do you think would be the better buy? Price wise stock Indian cheaper but I hear the seat and if over 200lbs the suspension needs upgrading. The price of new Indian scout bobber with upgrades roughly the same for a used 2018 fat bob (when available supply seems limited)
I will be picking up the Indian scout bobber twenty when I get down to North Carolina. Retiring (May 2022) and my wife and I are moving about 40 minutes outside of Charlotte. There is a dealer right in Charlotte. Thanks for this post. I am 6' 235lbs.
Good people. I'm 5'10 and 190 lbs' and my best Bud is 6'1 and 230 lbs' We are riding our Scouts. Yes. we are having a "Blast", We are not GAY. We are Drunks and Love Indian MC's
Nothing wrong with just a little gay.
Ha ha. Want people to know we are not gay by declaring it. Remember , dont sit to close to him in the bar. People could get the wrong idea.
Lol it's the full gay that will getcha
I'm not gay but 20 bucks is 20 bucks
So the 6’1” guy doesn’t find it small ?
Loved the victory octane (same bike) would love to get a scout just for that cool indian decal on the side
The whole video ALL I can think of is where's the other glove? I blocked out everything you said because I was worried about that guys other glove.
I didn’t even notice that till I read your comment, good question!
I just bought a 19 streetbob this summer....and then I saw the scout 2 months later. I love my Harley, but truthfull, the scout may have been the one I bought if I had seen it first. 😊
Real good video wish Indian all the luck in world problem where I live dealer Network does not hardly exist never know when they may fold
No only do I have a smile on my face every time I get on and off my Indian Scout. I also get a big smile on my face every time I just think about it!!!
Everything I loved about my Scout was immediately negated when I hit a bump in the road or when it tried to kill me when I tried to go around a corner. Just a better lean angle and better suspension and I'd still own it.
I got the same exact bike with black mini apes and a black seat because tan and gray do not match.. I love that there's a big bore kit for two grand if I ever get to use to the power and need to pick me up
Im currently in the market for a scout bobber, i am in love, hope to have it in my garage by end of the month!!
Picked the bobber up 2 weeks ago. I’m in love lol
This is the bike I want to grow into. Sch a beautiful bike!
All the little kids in the neighborhood wave at me when I ride by. What better proof is there of its coolness?
My complaint with the bikes of today (including the Scout) is the mechanical complexity and difficulty of servicing them. I had a 2014 Suzuki S40. It was a dream to service for the most part. I could set the valves on it, as opposed to $400+ to get them done on the Scout.
I believe the Indian Scout to be a nice, quality motorcycle that should serve a person well for many years. I believe my personal experience was jaded by test riding the Chief Vintage and Roadmaster before riding the Scout. Hard to choose and give the Scout a fair shake after that.
Totally cool, bro!
As for the comment about the Scout not being a woman's bike, he's totally correct. I test rode an Octane & it is VERY comfortable I'm 6 1" w/long wingspan & there is more than enough room in the rider's triangle. Also up close the bikes are no push over they don't look like dinky beginner bikes & about 80hp is good enough for cruising and speeding.
Test drove one yesterday and loved it. Can’t afford one right now but it was nice to try it!
I sold my Thunderbird 1600 to a bike collector, and he let me test his souped-up Rocket. Now there was a trusting soul. That bike would warp time and space.
Any idea what camera is being used? great quality!
60 mph in a housing development. Nice.
Is the exhaust/mufflers stock? Sounds nice, sounds like an upgrade?
These bikes are twice the bike the Vulcan S is. It's heads & shoulder a better bike than HD sportster. I would concider it as one of the best value cruisers currently out there.
More video’s with Lindsey in them please. Hi Linsey 😍
@mojonk Thinking a woman is attractive doesn't make you a beta.
Scouts have so much power
Review on the indian scout bobber !!!!!!!!!!!!
steve Believe it or not the scoot is a bit better to ride
The bobber looks better than it rides but for a bobber it rides really good and is quick.
Let me emphasize...THIS BIKE DOES FIT a 6'2" man! EVEN IN BAGGER DRESS! My wife and I both have Scouts...and she LOVES the low seat (25") for her 5'3" frame...and I love the design, styling, weight, balance and power! The 2021's are putting out 100-hp (trumping Harley by 43%, by the way. Can we say 'overhead cams', 'no push rod tubes' and 'water cooled'?)...and you just can't compare the long-distance ride quality to ANY Harley out there...there just is no comparison!
couple things...i am a rather short guy, 5' 8". the Scout fits me very comfortably. also i test rode both the Scout & Scout 60 and regardless of specs, i did not notice any significant difference between the two regarding acceleration, power or torque. the Scout has one more gear and cost about $2000 more. so i bot the Scout 60. at 75 mph you are not even using half your power. best gas mileage so far is 54.7 mpg.
Interesting thing about the 69 and the 60. There is almost no difference in the power curve until about 6K rpm, then the Scout pulls ahead - remember that both are cruisers, not balls to walls sport bikes. But they are quick bikes. I have a 60 (actually it's 61 cubes) and I almost never have the need or desire to push it past 6k. there's a lot of pull in 4-6k range. That 5th gear on the 69 that is between 4th and 5th on the 60? I can see it, though on pretty rare occasions, but it's not worth $2 grand. Do a stage 1 and get some better exhaust and there you are if you want more out of the 60. For a lot less than $2 grand. Honestly, I think the extra chrome sways more people than 9 cubic inches.
Truthfully, take either one if you can get a better deal on one over the other. It's a sweet ride.
I'm 5 foot 3 and I love my scout
👉😎👉
@@TCCflow can u flat foot it?
I’m 6’4 and I kinda regret not buying something bigger. The extended reach seat, foot controls and 10” bars help, but the Victory 8 Ball, Indian Darkhorse or Dyna Street Bob would have been a better choice.
I’m 5.7 the Scoot was very fast and amazing
I thought it was on par with a 111 to a degree
It was really good and no were near a sportster in anyway. It’s far faster and better.
Would you say is relatively lighter than a Kawasaki Vulcan? And enough low sitting to a comfortable riding! I was told about this! I’ve ridden a Vulcan and I’m more attracted to the cooler looking of this one or the Triumph Bobber!! Those are the coolest bikes ever!!!
question is though??? Is the scout a good bike for a beginner? I’m 6’3 230. Is it too powerful for a novice rider should I consider a scout 60 same size and frame just like 10 pounds lighter and it’s 1000cc.
I've been doing alot of searching and think I'm leaning hard towards the scout rogue. Great looking bike
How are you going to get one?
I’m curious cause I have a 2016 scout that I love….however was thinking of getting a new bobber.
Ordering one apparently takes 6+ months. Could be wrong but that’s what the dealer told me other day.
@@matthewhill3996 by ordering at my local dealership. I have the patience
I really like the look of the Scout but I'm 6'5 and when I stood next to one it looked like it was sized for someone 5'3. I wish Indian would make a classic style standard similar to the Triumph Bonneville, maybe call it the Scout Standard? I need that 31" seat height!
look at the indian chief sir
Love those pipes design bike looks badazz
Sean thanks for posting I know you know your motorcycles
Scouts amazing. Also it’s retro sized. Bikes have gotten a bit bloated over the years.
Beautiful bike! I don't know much about Indian but I know they used to be Victory or something and they can get expensive. :)
Love the bike
This place is so beautiful! Is it in Pennsylvania?
At 0:31 seconds in when you say “he’s here”. My phone thinks I say “hey Siri” and Siri pops up. Ha
How would you rate the indian scout for a beginner/first bike? Thanks
wells lamont work glove...good leather good wind protection...cheap at walmart
"Is the Indian Scout Big Enough For a Man?"- not if the man in question is a four hundred pound doughboy.
Mort13 ain't nothing wrong with is doughboys lol
Nothing new suspension couldn't fix
It would still be great with 400lb dough boy. Plenty of power
Love these but I love the sportsters too.
Shaw goes up to 1% MC “I’m Shawn. I want to test drive your motorcycle”. Gets carried home by Caleb.
My buddy is 5'6. He tried on a few bikes and the Indian Scout was the best fit for him.
I rode a scout probably a little over five years ago and I loved it 5:17
that's amazing looking bike :)
I sell that Vulcan 650s at the motorcycle shop where I work at Shelby's Powersports
what brand of glove is that in your left hand? I like it.
1Smoking Lizard .... Palmolina Inc. makes'em
Indian originale accessory ~$50.00
Literally nobody noticed he said left not right.
MrBadApple999 , , , Palm-olina inc.
Queef Micester Is that supposed to mean bare hand?..
Indian would sell a lot more Scouts if they stop calling it a “Beginner motorcycle or a “Ladies” motorcycle. Not everyone once to ride a motorcycle that weighs almost a ton.
I guess Indian Scout riders like HD Sporty riders kind of feel confident in ourselves and that we really don't need to compensate for any personal deficits with the size of our bikes.....
Great bike but I found it small and expensive so I got the Yamaha 1300 custom ,it’s brilliant
I've driven this bike over a thousand miles in less than 24 hours I'm 6-foot 175 lb and absolutely love this bike for doing long-distance trips even with my fiance.
please share some of your experiences during that trip. i am impressed you did 1000 miles in 24 hrs. normal / average cruising speed. average speed for trip, gas mileage along the trip. did you have windshield?
I cant decide between this and the fat bob this is cheaper but I don't like the design as much and I'd have either pay extra or go and try and find a dealer (so far no luck) but their is an abundant of harely dealers and I like the bike better in general but it's more expensive? Oh and when buying the bike what percent of the bike should I pay off as down payment if I can't afford to pay it off completely at once
5:12 🤔 I think his true form slipped out for a second proof you are not human
Octane/Scout vs the Judge/Gunner? I just can't decide between that two different worlds.
Liquid-cooled vs air-cooled, 1200cc vs 106c.i.
Please help.
That Lindsay is an absolute fox, great move putting her on a bike at the end of a video.
What is this bike like when you ride two up? It seems Indian markets this for a solo rider with the pillion seat an accessory. Is there a reason for that?
Just took my dads scout for a rip and holy crap this bike will move don’t get it confused nice heavy cruiser watch out for that exhaust it burns lol
I had a great Victory dealer near me. Polaris really messed them over by cutting off the Victory line. I assumed that they would be given an Indian dealership. Nope. No dealers near me so no Indian in my garage.
Same thing here. Indian required dealerships to have X amount of show room and shop space. So much most Victory dealerships would have to double their building space.
"this is now the scouty sixty.." BWAAAAAAAAA
Thats a sweet looking bike I'd ride it .
Indian Motorcycle is my first choice, then Harley! I’m 5’ 9.5” and that bike is perfect for me!👌🏾🏍
Don't forget that half-inch.
