  • Hello all!!
    One task of our work during our season with LID at Sweden is to daily check the ice tracks and make sure that they are up to the level that we want to have and safe to drive.
    Of course, depending on the previous night's weather, this is sometimes not possible but hey, one of the things we cannot anticipate and work around is that!
    In this video we take one of the Porsche 991.2 GT3 from LID and we do just that around the circuit of Paul Ricard.
    So jump on board and have a look of what YOU could be driving in 2023!

    I will be there in February! I have a silly question. What type of pants and shoes are appropriate for the drive? Ski pants? Should I where hiking boots?

    • @kzannos
      @kzannos  Год назад +1

      Oh great and not a silly question at all!! A lot of people misjudge the clothing they need and end up buying something at the last minute!
      - Thermal underwear
      - Ski pants
      - Warm sweater
      - Warm/ski jacket
      - hiking boots or other similar kind of boot that can stand cold for a long time is optimal. No need for super thin driving shoes. You get used to the feeling and drive like normal even with thicker boots.
      Although you have a chalet to wait inside while you are not driving, it is best to be properly clothed and can step out at your own liking rather than having to sit inside because of no other option.
      When about are you coming in February?!
      Maybe we will have the chance to drive together! :)

      Thanks @k.zannos for getting back to me so quickly and the detailed reply. I will be there around the 23rd for the level 1 experience. I have completed most of the track experiences but I’ve never done anything like this. Super excited to visit Finland.

      @@specialk4235 Pleasure to be of help!!
      Ah ok, now that I understand better I think we won’t be seeing each other after all.
      You are probably going to the Finish Ice Force Experience which is similar but at the same time not quite the same with Lapland Ice Driving ice tracks. LID is located in the Swedish Lapland, at the frozen lake of Udjaur.
      Would had been great to drive together! Nevertheless, all the tips above stand and wishing you a great time in Finland with the P.experience!
      If you ever think of visiting and driving any of the big European circuits and have any questions you know where to reach !
      :)

      @@kzannos Oh my mistake. I assumed there was only one Lapland in Europe. I will defiantly consider coming to Sweden one of these days. It looks beautiful.

    • @wdp_racing
      @wdp_racing Год назад

      @@specialk4235 Well, technicaly there is only one Lapland and it is quite vast and goes through two different countries! So you could be on the Finnish part or on the Swedish part !
      So you weren't wrong!

      Here 1 hour drive from where I live they every winter makes a road on the ice of a river to the other side, I sometimes go there just to have some fun on the 1km long stretch they have made into a s shape going to the other side. The river is only 200 - 300m wide so most of it is along the river. It is public road so free ;) And usually you are alone and can see if anyone else enters so it is safe to go wild, and if you screw up you and up in soft snow, no danger for damage usually.
