@@morgan97475 Thats a very healthy budget. PERSONALLY I would not recommend investing more than 200k. It is not necessary. @richardminor5401 Hi Richard, there is the option of Non-Lucrative visa for Spain, sort of retirement visa. It does not allow you to work but you can legally reside in Spain on a passive income. Or another option is Spanish Digital Nomad Visa on which you can work remotely for a company based outside of Spain or as a freelancer.
@@ExpatTheExplorer Hi , great posts ! good info and camera work , i am looking to buy a property in Spain , you mention this non lucrative visa ? does this give you the ability to stay longer than the 90 day system ? also my passive income is approx €2300 per month , would this amount be sufficient ? Maybe you know ? Thanks Marc 🙂
There are various visas but the financial eligibility criteria are a definite barrier. For example the NLV ( non lucrative visa which means you cant work) currently requires a passive unearned income of €29,000 pa for a single person. This is not savings - you have to evidence regular passive income. This figure goes up each year and you need to renew your visa when your passive income is checked again. This has impacted on UK who until Brexit had freedom of movement to live and work in the EU.
@@theknobbla5447 If you can qualify for a visa then the 90/180 days Schengen rule does not apply. Currently to get a 1yr Non Lucrative Visa you need to evidence regular passive unearned income of €29,000 pa. You also need a home address in Spain ie owned or rental agreement. This visa can be renewed a further 2 times to take you up to 5yrs when you can apply for permanent residency. If you want a Work type visa then your current monthly income may just about qualify. Currently they require €2400 pm. You would need to do this as a registered self employed business or if you work for an employer you would need a contract enabling you to work remotely in Spain. There is the Digital Nomad Visa but this only has a max length of 2yrs so not a long term option.

This comment is quite wrong. The violence in all these coastal cities comes from cheap tourism, which is called drunken tourism. When immigrants come to these places after risking their lives, what they do is look for jobs in order to survive.
