What is not discussed is the hundreds of tiny communities up and down the Spanish coast that have everything offered from large cities but far more relaxed and economical. I’m Mexican-American who purchased my retirement home just outside of Estepona, Spain. Look it up.
Yeah. Estepona is stunningly beautiful. I use to spend my hollidays in Bahía De Casares. Just 14 Km away from Estepona. This area has everything you need. And it's away from mass- tourism.
Taking your advice and looking at Estepona. Do you know if there is much of an expat community there with English speakers? i will not be fluent in Spanish until after I've been there a while. Thanks.
Estepona siempre me llamo la atencion. Vivimos en Alemania y pensamos irnos a espania. Lo malo de esa zona es el problema con el agua. En que parte compro usted? Gracias
As a Spanish citizen, I agree with this video. I'm also a teacher and help people to immerse in the language and learn conversational Spanish. Otherwise I truly believe that you are missing half of the beauty of living in Spain. I'm happy to share some ideas and advice. Let me know if you need any help. And hope you all enjoy Spain!
And what about the water and the desert grows up again and again.... Did Spain find any solution for this problem ? In French Catalonya (northern Catalonya) we have this similar problem

Northern and Eastern Galician coasts as well as places west from Gibraltar like Tarifa, Cadiz etc. are really underrated IMHO. OFten summers near Gibraltar bay are less hot than summers in Almeria, Marbella, Malaga, Valencia and even Barcelona.
I live near Almoradi...it is brilliant. Not a "Benidorm" sort of place, just a real working Spanish market town, but ony about 20 mins from Torrevieja / Guardamar if you want a bit of beach life. Heaven on Earth, IMO.
It’s just shocking to me how mostly all Europeans disdain Spain during their working years, yet they keep coming to Spain for their retirement only to contribute to property speculation. Spaniard yougsters cannot afford decent housing anymore, that’s really sad…
I wonder if there are areas with many Latin Americans and Scandinavians, are there such places? I like both LatAm and Scandinavian cultures and I'd enjoy the presence of Latino restaurants and Scandinavian supermercados.
COSTA BLANCA, ALICANTE CITY IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE , RETIRE , WORK , INVEST, VERY LOW RATES AND ALL YEAR SUNNY , BEST BEACHES AND WONDERFUL GASTRONOMY, THE BEST OPTION IN THE VALENCIAN COMUNITY.
What is a Digital Nomad? I am a pensioner and have lived on the Costa Blanca for 10 years and the Costa del Sol for 7 years. This is an interesting view, but the expenses quoted are a little high. I live on an English old age pension, so if the living expenses quoted were accurate I would be starving.
A digital nomad is someone who has a job that allows them to work from anywhere in the world just simply by having a laptop, good internet access, and the ability to do their work professionally.

Sorry to hear and apologies for my fellow Brits, I lived in Barcelona from 99-2013 and was fluent in Spanish after about 3 years, I guess some people are so narrow minded
It’s just a shame its in the EU, There’s a new Visa law coming into force very soon called the Schengen visa is an entry permit for a short, temporary visit of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. A Schengen visa can be obtained in the form of a single-entry visa, allowing the holder to enter the Schengen area once, or a multiple-entry visa, which is granted for several visits to the Schengen area for as long as it is valid. Now this is a problem because you will have to leave the EUROPEAN border for 90 Days before you can apply to go back and your not guaranteed a yes, Thats means you can’t spend the whole of the Summer in Spain. Or like myself who has business in Europe where i need to go over and talk to people at times in meetings and Conferences, Its going to be a nightmare, Even the Film Festival in Cannes France is on about moving out of the EU to the UK 🇬🇧 where you dont have stupid dumb arse Visa rules, This will destroy the Tourists Industry.
The Cannes festival will move to Great Britain when the Eiffel Tower rises hair. The Visa system to enter Europe is very simple, a single procedure and you can enter and move through all the countries of the Schengen area, which also includes countries that do not They belong to the EU. The tourist visa is for 90 days, more than enough for a tourist stay and can be renewed for another 90 days, under certain circumstances. The 180-day limit was imposed to prevent abuses by British residents, who continually renewed tourist visas and did not become residents and did not pay taxes. BREXIT IS BREXIT
