Even though this was during the worst period of his life psychologically I always loved the threads Marvin wore during this period of his life. The man had STYLE.
Agreed!
Unfortunately, marvin's entire life was very troubled, even on stage when Tammie Terrell basically died in arms. Then again, perhaps that's why his music was so soulful.
Omg Marvin had the best background vocals and Adlibs His voice!
Happy Heavenly 83rd Birthday to you, Mr. Marvin Pentz Gaye Jr.!!!! 🎉🎊🎂🍨🍝🍗🍾🍷🎙🎸🥁🎹🎷👼🙏⛪💯
what a treat for that audience to be in the presence of such a legend
I was about 10 years old, and my momma would play this album over, and over and over again. I literally know this whole album by heart. Till this day, I sing songs off this album for her. Rest in Heaven, Mr. Marvin Gaye, you touched the lady's like no other singer in my opinion.
He made great music. I keep him in my playlist!!!!! #RIH 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊

I danced on that episode!!! What a thrill!!
Wow!!!, I know you had a great time
Did you dance with the beautiful Mr. Marvin?
Song is still more precious than gold.
I can't for the life of me understand how this period of time was so dark for him...When he made one of the all time greatest comebacks of all, fresh into a new recording contract and a release from Motown, relocated to Belgium to get clean...came out with a new sound and album that defined a whole decade!...and set a precedence for contemporary R&B..and inspired generations after him to utilize the TR-808, in which he was the first to do....Then won his first Grammy.
I'm trying to figure out what went wrong AFTER ALL THAT. I'll forever be lost about that. It makes me sad, deeply
His wife was cheating on him with teddy pendergrass and Frank Beverly of maze then she went with Rick James. He suffered from depression both off them were on heavy drugs
Copious amounts of cocaine and pornography. Such a waste.
@@scorpichella That's how he was when he FIRST got to Belgium. By the time he recorded MIDNIGHT LOVE he was pretty much off the drugs though he stupidly started dabbling with it again while recording the album. He got hooked on rock cocaine which he never was exposed to before.
Going back to the US to tend to his ailing mother and butting heads with his father started things on the wrong track then when he went on tour the drugs and paranoia got to him. One of the ppl on tour committed suicide, Marvin got death threats (which is normal all things considered) but he took it seriously. This led him to snorting up even MORE and the paranoia+the broken relationship with his father sent him over the edge.
He had depressive and suicidal tendencies. He just got into a perfect storm of bad events which led to him just ending it all by forcing his father's hand.
So fine!

Oh and let me say.. nothing about this song was “B- side”.. this should’ve been a single too.. my favorite off the Midnight Love album
👏👏👏
Mr. Marvin Gaye was smooth like butter in my book. He could had become a bigger star and sex symbol like Denzel Washington in my own opinion.💯😏😘
He was a sex symbol.
