Odd thing was, he didn't think he was a smooth dancer.
We wore out the bottoms of our shoes dancing to this song. (June 24 2024)
I'm envious! I was a Lil kid during Disco but I love it as an adult.
That bass line has such a funky groove..
I cherished my parents playing this song in my house every weekend.
I am 65 yrs old, grew up with Marvin Gaye. I still dance to this song. Thank you MARVIN GAYE!!! Miss his music. I only can imagine what his music would be like today.❤❤
Hi! I'm 70, and grew up listening to Marvin and lots of Motown.
Lots of awesome performers!!
64 and still dancing to his songs. This still gets people on their feet. We dance down the soul train line on this song.
I was in basic training at Ft. Polk, La. was when I heard that song for the first time! After 4 weeks, Drill Sergeants let you go to the lo the nearby store for a burger but no beer!
They had a jukebox!
Back when love and soul collided, put the groove in the music. Music from the 60s and especially the 70s will never be matched.
Man, people look so free here smh.
No shooting cursing just everyone drunk and jamming just shaking their black asses..Man I miss my old skool days
siyabonga mazibuko we were in from this era 58 years young now. Still look the same too
the mind control was not as bad then as it is now.
black people are the original/s they should be in the position they are in now.
Marvin had a God-given talent. RIP Marvin!
That song came out in 1977. i was a kid but loved Marvin Gaye all the songs he made. I got a chance to see him perform live.

Loved Marvin Gaye as I was growing up in the 1970s. He was a genius and left this world too soon!
It's a shame they had the year of this video clip with marvin in 1970, that song was did in 1977!!!!!!!!!!
Marvin Gaye was a musical genius

❤️
Black Family Reunion/Wedding/Party Anthem!!!

Oh Yeah!!!
This is when going out was fun and safe. Thank you Soul Train. Going out dancing today you may get killed. Boy how the good old days are gone.
Which is why I do these types of things on my front porch with the little bit of friends I have and the little bit of family I choose to deal with🤷🏾♂️
Marvin is a iconic legend of soul music
My opinion rq…..Look at these people of color just so beautiful and full of energy just literally glowing from wall to wall with sweat and beautiful black and brown skin tones.
The 70s was just was just such a golden time for African Americans we understood our worth, we understand the importance of being black, even though things weren’t easy in America we still had our secret little outlets like “Soul Train” to let people know we’re black and we’re mf proud!!!! We spoke to each other through soul and funk and continued to show our kids which they passed to theirs we didn’t hide these beautiful things in our cultural, we didn’t cancel anybody out, everybody got a seat at the table and enjoyed it.
This is just so beautiful man no other words to describe it so many smiles so many beautiful black people in one room and Marvin’s voice and amazing dance moves just made it more worth wild I love this nothing brings me joy than soul train. Let’s continue to celebrate us beautiful black people!🫶🏾❤️
P.S. I’m 22 I wish I was born in this era just to experience it!

Tremendo cantante Marvin Gaye, hermosa música.
My oldest son gave me a CD of Marvin's songs. I never knew he even paid attention to what I grew up listening to. 😊

You rocked it, Marvin❤💯🤟
Harmony is Spectacular ...... Marvin was another level !
I dance at home to this song
This song actually inspired Michael Jackson's Don't Stop til you get enough.
Actually it "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground". On the long version of "Got To Give It Up", Marvin ab-lib "Let's Dance, Let's Shout". Michael heard that and wrote song lyrics while Randy wrote that piano riff.
i can see that
DC LEGEND! I used to live right across the street from the park named after him! ❤️❤️❤️
Great performance by the late Marvin Gaye
I can still remember my nerdy teenaged white boy ass hearing this song on the oldies channel in the 80s. Even I could feel how funky it was.
Love this man and so sad his father was so jealous of his success and so warped to kill him when Marvin did all he could to please his father even given him a house setting him up to never be concerned financially
No, his father shot him because he was trying to rob him to support his cocaine habit
@@Sight2Behold Eso no es verdad,su propia madre dijo que fue por qué Marvin trató de defenderla de otra paliza de su padre hacia ella
dont believe their stories . they took him out after sexual healing .
@@Sight2Behold exactly.
Marvin's drug habit got him killed. RIP Marvin.
My man Marvin❤️❤️❤️
