    I have to say that the truck looks great, but unfortunately, new mirrors DO NOT add beauty to the truck. Although, if you added them because you need to see while towing large trailers, I completely understand.

    Looks a lot better and safer to use the bigger ones

    If you have the tow package in your truck that turns on the side camera and comes up on your screen while towing. Buy this and it will work without towing anything. TOW READY 20142 7-Way Flat Pin to 7-Flat Plug to Plug Adapter, Regular. Another great option is the husky mud flaps. They will keep the mud off your running boards and truck. I had the Gm flaps for my hd and they were bad and didn’t help much.

    Love your videos on the baby duramax. I have a Tacoma 2022 and I bought my son a 2021 Tacoma and we never had an issue. I had 5 corvettes and other GM vehicles and have always had problems. I can get a GMS discount but quality is a question. I Love your channel keep up the great content!

      I appreciate the kind words ! I am on my 5th 3.0 Duramax, I have had a few issues but nothing major, thankfully. I do try to show the good and the bad of these trucks so that people can make an informed decision on their purchase. Quality is a valid question at this point and it hasn't gotten better in the past few years. It seems you get a good one or you don't. Time will tell, I appreciate your comment and following the channel !

    Putting the door lock in the lock position makes it easier to angle the door card and slide it over. Been in there a few times with my mirrors. I went with OEM to retain my 360 surround and RZY harness from boost to get the lighting to work.

    The fun part (sarcasm intended) is in the wiring. I was considering them for my truck as I tow a huge RV but the wiring and the possibility of screwing it up and maybe messing with the truck’s warranty stopped me for now. But it looks like they found the same supplier as GM since they look identical to the 2500 GM trucks.

    • @DemonWorks
      @DemonWorks  6 месяцев назад +1

      After watching the boost video on how to wire, it doesn't look bad at all. Just time consuming, potentially. They make the harness so well with their terminals already made and wire lengths correct. The video shows exact pinouts and everything.Trip is in a few days, anxious to see how well they help.

      @@DemonWorks well I’m a pessimist at heart. lol. So with all that wiring, I’m bound to screw something up. Anyways yea they are bulky but they serve the purpose when trailering. Good luck with the towing.

      I had the 21 Denali HD and they look very similar. I bet they add the same blind spot as the hd it was very bad for how much they blocked my view of vehicles coming from the sides of the truck. I thought about getting some bigger mirrors. I have a 20 ft enclosed trailer. I don’t want it to be like the 2500 hd and have huge blind spots. They were great for towing and bad for city driving.

  • @TheDeadernie

    They definitely don't make the truck look any better but I'm sure they're better for towing.

    What about the cameras that come in the factory mirrors? Is it possible to get those in the boost auto ones? I love the parallel parking camera angle that shows the tires from and rear.

    • @DemonWorks
      @DemonWorks  6 месяцев назад

      Same boat as you, I love the cameras. I have not attempted to swap the cameras, no intentions of it. Will likely use the sport mirrors for normal driving since these are so easy to install.

      You are correct. They have their place, for sure and I like them when towing, which I am about to do. I can work around the visibility in the forward corners for now, love them with a trailer hooked up!

    I have always wanted to do this to my half ton truck! Someone told me that you can add them as an option when you order a truck. I don’t know why dealers don’t order more units that way for the guys who want their trucks for towing? I’ve never seen any trucks on the lot equipped with the tow mirrors on them. The other question that I have is could you take a pair of 3/4 or one ton truck mirrors and install them on a half ton truck?

    Are these mirrors auto dimming? The factory tow mirrors are not on my 2023 1500 High Country 3.0 Duramax. On my 2020 2500 High Country Duramax just the drivers mirror was auto dimming

    Out of all the products you’ve put on your 3 liter duramax, what has boosted your mpg the most?

    • @DemonWorks
      @DemonWorks  6 месяцев назад +1

      For mpg, leave it stock. You can bolt parts on and your dash may claim better but hand calculated will show, it's not the case. Every once in a while a mod will show an mpg improvement but that will typically be over one or two tank fulls. it's not consistent mpg improvements so we can assume that was more about driving style and conditions.

    • @DemonWorks
      @DemonWorks  6 месяцев назад +3

      I agree for the most part, the 1500 needs to be bigger or the tow mirrors need to be smaller. I feel the ZR2 being a little wider and taller help with the ratio.
