@@rangetechnology8178 Does this product not say that during low rpm with foot off throttle and coasting, that DFM could still be engaged?? Are you saying this is 100% all 8 cylinders all the time?
@@BR549_o7 the engine going to 0-cylinder mode while coasting is a little bitt different than full DFM. We've done extensive testing and there is only one way to keep all 8-cylinders on while coasting, and that change caused a MASSIVE drop in fuel economy in our testing (2-3mpg), and you lose the built in engine braking, made for a not so pleasant driving experience, enough we chose to not incorporate that feature in the product. So until we discover another way to get around it, the engine may still go to 0-cylinders while coasting/decelerating.
@@rangetechnology8178 so, in the end, what is the difference from stock? In stock, the truck will never go to 0 cylinders when on the throttle, but will when coasting. Is the range guaranteed to be 8 cylinders "anytime" throttle is on? But it goes back to stock when off the throttle or braking.
@@BR549_o7 correct. The engine will run in V8 mode ALL THE TIME when throttle input is detected. There are instances where at 0% throttle input (coasting/decel) it may still enter 0-cylinder mode, but never while cruising or accelerating.

Disconnecting the negative battery cable is recommended and normal procedure for any electrical work on vehicles in order to protect the computer and modules from electrical spikes. Consider yourself lucky that nothing happened to your truck.
We do not currently ship internationally, but I'm sure you'll see it available on Amazon as soon as some of our dealers that use Amazon stores have inventory and can get them listed.
@rangetechnology8178 understood. I'll share the information with my South Korean friends. I bought one yesterday. I received the ups number by e-mail. Thank you.
We STRONGLY suggest it to avoid any voltage being present within the ECM when the harness is disconnected to prevent a potential issue. These vehicles will also continue to feed the modules power even after you've shut it off for a few minutes. So disconnecting the ECM harness before it's completely powered down, could cause a check engine light that would need to be cleared with a scan tool the first time the vehicle is restarted. To avoid any issues, we do suggest disconnecting the battery.
The Auto Start Stop feature will be disabled at all times with this module installed. We do not make any changes with the in-cab button or dash display however. Is this still the case? I already ordered mine and it’s on its way, but I have ANP steps and that is a priority. Have you talked with Range about this?
Mine made a serious arc, when I connected neg. battery cable. I am letting it go unsalted for a week to see if battery drains. We will see what happens.
My engine light went off on its own. I had driven to town and back. Parked for the night and next morning it did not come on and everything is looking good. No problems.
Mine seemed to install fine, but when I put the neg. cable back on battery it arced bad. I thought it might be drawing down battery. So I waited a week to crank again. Battery was down 2-3 volts. Makes me uneasy.....
Do NOT keep the key FOB anywhere near you when disconnecting the battery. Suggest placing the FOB in a faraday box. Your vehicle senses the key FOB and will draw current with it near the vehicle.
Installed mine yesterday. Discontinued negative terminal. Installed module. Truck would not start untill I rolled down drivers window and rolled back up. Truck started everything ran fine. Remote start works. Question is how do I know that the start-stop is disabled? Light for start-stop is still lit. Also how do you know it is not going into deactivation mode?
We do not interact with the start stop switch on the dash at all, so it will still illuminate as factory. But the system will not work with our module installed, regardless of what position the switch on the dash is in.
Why is this installation so much more time consuming and different than the previous gen? Should just be able to plug into the OBD port instead of pulling out fender liner etc...
Only works with 12th digit of the VIN 5 or higher? What kind of crap is this? I got an email that this product was available and called to place the order over the phone. No one told me that my VIN had to be a 5 or higher. No I have to go through the hassle of sending it back. This is the second time I got screwed by these guys. I bought a Pulsar LT in 2022 for my Sierra 2022 refresh. I called three times telling them I had the refresh and asked if it would work. No one seemed to even know there was a 2022 refresh. Isn't that their job? To know what vehicles are coming to market and whether or not their products are supported? I bought the Pulsar and didn't work with my vehicle. Lucky for them that nothing fried. Called again and told them it didn't work and someone finally told me it didn't work with the refresh. Now it happened again. How hard is it to make a product that works for everything. I now have a 2024 Sierra Dinali. This is supposed to support all of the refresh vehicles. Now I found out the 12th digit of my VIN needs to be 5 or higher. WTF. These people are idiots.
That VIN information is only required if you have a 2022 model year truck. If the 12th digit is a 5 or higher you have a Refresh and need our new RA007 device. If the 12th digit is a 4 or lower, it is not a Refresh and you need our older RA003 device. All 2023 and 2024 models will use the RA007

@@ianzhang8337 that’s what I’m hoping for as I had a 2015 Chevy Malibu reached 272,000+ miles unfortunately I lost it in a wreck last year or else I would’ve continued to at least 300K miles
So I’m hoping to get near that mark with this truck
I have a 22 Chevy Silverado 1500 WT
I ordered the first one and plugged it in under the dash in the OB port didn't work
Send it back got my money back now I waited this long to get this updated version for my refresh Silverado
Took the cover underneath the fender off plugged it into the bottom port just like the video shows got back in the truck took it around the block and guess what
I'm still having cylinder shut down at a low idle and then when the truck finally comes to a stop it's almost like somebody pulls a plug out of my exhaust and it kicks back in and you can hear the exhaust come back to life I know this because I had dual exhaust put on my truck and when I drive around in L7 there is no interruption in my exhaust note but when I drive it in drive and I let off the accelerator the truck goes quiet even though I am still moving and until I either hit the accelerator again or come to a complete stop the truck silent but even at a dead stop again it's like somebody pulls a plug out of my exhaust and I can hear it again so that tells me this device is not keeping all eight cylinders on the whole time
Very disappointed just got it yesterday put it on tonight and it sounds the same as it did before the install again if I put it in L7 it's a totally different truck and there is no interruption in the cylinders anybody else having this issue
Have you contacted our tech support team? This product should work flawlessly with all 2022.5+ Refresh models with the 5.3L and 6.2L engines.
Got 1! Been waiting
Does this interfere with operation of the power running boards?
No, we've tested extensively with power running boards and have had no issues. Some Amp'd step kits will just need their main power fuse pulled, and reinstalled after the battery has been disconnected for our module installation.
@@rangetechnology8178 Mine is throwing an engine light and temp is reading -40
@@brandonsmith3219 was this right after installation? Did you unhook the battery before disconnecting the PCM? If not, the control module just needs to resync, which takes just a few drive cylces.
Make one for the 2021 and newer f150 coyote 5.0’s
We do not have Ford support yet
Do I need to removed when I take truck just for oil changes?
If you go to the dealership, I wouldn't give them the opportunity to deny your warranty.
Can you guys show how to install on the new escalade?
installation is the same on truck and SUV
Any plans to make one that doesn't disable Auto Start Stop, and just disables the DFM? I'm only interested in prolonging engine life, could care less about emissions/power.
No, this will be the only disabler device we offer for this application
uh, auto start/stop does hurt the engine just as much as DFM. Best to get rid of both of them.
Works great, thanks!
Why do we need to disconnect the neagtive battery cable? I just installed wine with out doing so.is it just a disclaimer to protect you guys?
Disconnecting the negative battery cable is recommended and normal procedure for any electrical work on vehicles in order to protect the computer and modules from electrical spikes. Consider yourself lucky that nothing happened to your truck.
We would never recommend or suggest disconnecting the ECM harness with battery voltage in the system.
It's been recommended to disconnect the negative battery cable while working on a vehicle since the vehicle was invented.
@@peterpizzurro was not really a big deal until computers started to show up though.
Is it possible to ship to South Korea? Is it possible to buy from Amazon?
We do not currently ship internationally, but I'm sure you'll see it available on Amazon as soon as some of our dealers that use Amazon stores have inventory and can get them listed.
@rangetechnology8178 understood. I'll share the information with my South Korean friends. I bought one yesterday. I received the ups number by e-mail. Thank you.
Will this work in my 23 Suburban with 5.3 litter?
Yes
Yes
Do you have to remove it when getting a sticker?
it depends on what the sticker says.
Mine is throwing an engine light and temp is reading -40
Any help?
Are you in Canada with temps like that?? LOL I didn't get any errors, and disconnected the negative term. Did you do that first?
GM needs to make V8 without DFM as an option
Yes!! Ordered!
What about the 2020 GMC AT4 Sierra?
For 2020 models, checkout our RA003 devices
Thanks 👍🏼
Do you have to disconnect the battery ?
yes
We STRONGLY suggest it to avoid any voltage being present within the ECM when the harness is disconnected to prevent a potential issue. These vehicles will also continue to feed the modules power even after you've shut it off for a few minutes. So disconnecting the ECM harness before it's completely powered down, could cause a check engine light that would need to be cleared with a scan tool the first time the vehicle is restarted. To avoid any issues, we do suggest disconnecting the battery.
Does the module still continue to drain the battery while it’s connected even when the vehicle is off?
We have no battery drainage issues with our devices
🎉
Just installed mine start/stop light still on .whatsoever it mean
The Auto Start Stop feature will be disabled at all times with this module installed. We do not make any changes with the in-cab button or dash display however. So your factory button will still default to it's factory setting and illuminate when you start the truck as it does without our module installed. The light on the button will go off if you press it and the dash emblem will come on, just like it functions stock. But regardless of whether you have the in-cab button on or off, the Auto Start Stop feature will always be off with our module installed.
Doesn't work with AMP steps 😢😢😢😢 just installed mine and sure enough took it off and amp steps work again. Amp steps are plugged to obd port
damn
Is this still the case? I already ordered mine and it’s on its way, but I have ANP steps and that is a priority.
Have you talked with Range about this?
@chrisimes478 No, when installing make sure you disconnect AMP step Fuse. Reconnect after reconnecting negative post and you should be good.
@@danielcastorena3057Thank you SO Much for the reply. My module will be here Thursday and I got worried
Installed today 24 Silverado 6.2. Everything seems to be working fine but engine light is on. Any advice? Going to redo the install steps!
Did you get any other error codes or instructions other than windows up/down?
There are no other issues. Truck runs fine. So far so good.
When you stop, does the engine shut off? Seems like a pretty easy thing to diagnose.
Will this work with the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali?
yes
2023 trail boss 5.3 , 12th digit in vin is a 2. Will this work on my truck ?
This module works in ALL 2023 and 2024 models
@@rangetechnology8178 awesome thanks for response, will have mine Thursday
You forgot to tell them that they will be replacing a transmission next.
@@usmc2044 why’s that???
It keeps your vehicle from going into four cylinder mode when it should. Causes heat in the transmission which is killer of trannys.
Why is this installation so much more time consuming and different than the previous gen? Should just be able to plug into the OBD port instead of pulling out fender liner etc...
He said you can't communicate with the ecm through the obd on global b platform. So the module plugs directly into the ecm.
Because it's different.
times change, do you still have a vacuum tube black and white TV??
Can this be used on a 2020 trail boss LT?
This device is specific to 2022.5-2024 model years. For a 2020 truck, look at our RA003 AFM Disabler
Still feels like it's dropping cylinders on my 22 ZR2. The whole point is to stop the motor from hurting itself....grrr
The vehicle will run on all 8 cylinders any time it detects throttle input. 0-cylinder mode can still engage while coasting/deceleration
My 2024 AT4 has a “3” for the 12th digit, not sure what that means.
This device works in ALL 2023 and 2024 models
@@rangetechnology8178ordered first week, been running it since. This is a must have product! Def recommended. Thank you so much!!!
