That risky fire department rescuer is more than courageous he is special. The truck driver had an Angel on her shoulder ..she is blessed that truck could have fell into the river ..it is a miracle that it caught on the bridge.
I can't imagine all the prayers that were being said during this awful situation and I'm sure she was praying hard too! A big "hat's off" to all the Emergency Responders here!!
Yeah some people just like to waste time doing irrelevant and useless rituals so they can pretend they're doing something useful, helpful or effective when they're not really doing anything. I spent the time rubbing my rabbits foot while saying the alphabet song over and over. I'm sure I was the one who saved that guy because what I did was far more proactive, decisive and effective than any prayers because they were saved just after I started doing this.

I am a truck driver and I need everyone to understand something…the truck is attached and held on solely by a latch that is holding a king pin approximately the size of a fist or smaller. This is AMAZING to say the least that the latch didn’t release. That woman had an angel keeping her. Once I really looked at the scene pictures all I could do is cry. I know she was terrified!!!!

Nothing to do with the weight in the trailer, but the connection between the trailer and cab. that kind or strain on it isn't normal and it's a miracle it held. Beyond that, there's no way that the center of gravity on the trailer is on the road side of the rail. Not tilted at that angle. It seems it got wedged in the beams of the bridge and that's the only thing that save the truck from going over.
Tractor weighs 12,000, driver should be fired, 35moh and failed to maintain control, crossing 2 lanes of traffic and a pedestrian walkway and the pickup hit her left side, normally you would go right, not left.

The person who hit her was charged, as he was driving with a suspended license and other drivers said he was weaving in and out of cars before he hit her. He's at fault.
What’s amazing is the trailer held up the weight of the entire unit keeping it from going into the river. Thank god they were able to rescue the driver and everyone is safe now because of the actions of the rescue fire department team.

It'll hold a loaded trailer up in the air too, they are extremely strong. When a trailer flips over, it takes the truck with it instead of breaking free.

I was a trucker for 23 years. This brought tears to my eyes watching. How terrified the driver had to be. Seconds I’m sure felt like hours. Not knowing if the truck would eventually fall into the water. And the rescue. My God.
The fire department more than likely anchored the truck to the bridge, and the ladder truck. Tow trucks aren’t allowed to run emergency. So who knows how long it would have taken for one to show up.
I am a truck driver with 27 yrs experience. I'm looking at this scene and imagining what I would feel like. Imagining what I would be planning so I could get out of that truck and back up onto the bridge. I am pleased to see that the truck driver is okay and will live to drive again. Thank you to the fire department. I have yet to see an emergency that fire department personnel couldn't figure out. What would we do without them.
The work platform under the bridge saved the truck form plunging totally off the bridge. What luck! I often wonder if the sides of a bridge will prevent a wreck like that. I guess we now know that the barricades are somewhat decorative, and drivers need to slow down and drive safely when crossing bridges and overpasses.

After the impact, the driver of the moving vehicle lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and hit the semitruck, which was traveling north. That, in turn, caused the semitruck to go through the guardrails and partially off the bridge." Other reports added the vehicle was a pickup truck that had been weaving in and out of traffic, and while the semi driver hasn't been named, she's a military veteran. The rescuer's name is Bryce Carden.
As always people assume it’s the truck drivers fault but reality is most accidents involving semis are caused by cars who aren’t paying attention or cut them off additionally it’s why the first thing drivers should do is invest in dashcams to protect themselves

Holy King Pin , Lucky they are so strong . They are only 3 inch in diameter and 5 inch long and thats all that is holding that truck to the trailer .

The fact that nobody called a wrecker or two as anchors is criminal!

I am a truck driver with 27 yrs experience.
I'm looking at this scene and imagining what I would feel like. Imagining what I would be planning so I could get out of that truck and back up onto the bridge.
I am pleased to see that the truck driver is okay and will live to drive again.

I have yet to see an emergency that fire department personnel couldn't figure out.

The work platform under the bridge saved the truck form plunging totally off the bridge. What luck! I often wonder if the sides of a bridge will prevent a wreck like that. I guess we now know that the barricades are somewhat decorative, and drivers need to slow down and drive safely when crossing bridges and overpasses.

questions about this one ....
The Louisville Courier-Journal said "according to witnesses, a vehicle going south on the bridge hit a stalled vehicle that was in the right lane of southbound traffic. After the impact, the driver of the moving vehicle lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and hit the semitruck, which was traveling north. That, in turn, caused the semitruck to go through the guardrails and partially off the bridge." Other reports added the vehicle was a pickup truck that had been weaving in and out of traffic, and while the semi driver hasn't been named, she's a military veteran. The rescuer's name is Bryce Carden.
As always people assume it’s the truck drivers fault but reality is most accidents involving semis are caused by cars who aren’t paying attention or cut them off additionally it’s why the first thing drivers should do is invest in dashcams to protect themselves
