“The Works of Mercy” is a psychological thriller inspired by the classics of the genre: Roman Polanski’s “Repulsion,” “The Tenant” and Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining.” The game’s plot revolves around mysterious killings committed on seemingly random victims. Only this time it’s the player who becomes the murderer.
The Works of Mercy” tells a story of a personal tragedy and wrecked psyche. When a cryptic tormentor forces the protagonist to kill people in order to save his family, the game’s hero (and the player) is posed with a series of dramatic questions. Who is the tormentor? Why is he so vengeful toward the protagonist’s family? How far do you have to go to satisfy him? How can you justify the killing in the sake of saving someone’s life? And how will you cope with the sense of guilt?
“The Works of Mercy” takes place in a photorealistic world as immersive as the real one. It lets the player get the very feel of roaming through murky locations and delve into the hero’s mind which is put to a serious trial.
“The Works of Mercy” will leave the gamers with a lasting impression and face them with the question: how much could I sacrifice for my family? It will take the players through a dark world which gradually dissolves to an increasingly surreal vision of the protagonist’s mind captured in a lethal trap.

I don't know if I want this. The trailer alone is gut wrenching. You don't have the distance you get from a movie.
I hate these types of games where the player character is a disembodied camera. No hands, no voice, no body.

That Night of the Living Dead famous opening scene on TV is even more disturbing in that situation.

Its not hard to make a game with unreal engine and a non interactive world.The hard part is when making everything come to live.Like games out in the open world where people come and go,birds fly,the wind is making the grass and trees move,and smokes and rain etc.And the psychics,lighting effects,living shadows.
If this is set in US why does she say euro? Still this actually looks cool. Though kinda similar to Allison Road, especially the graphics (same engine I know) and how you pick stuff up it just floats.
its prob. because its made by Europeans but they set it in the US because they know the US is shit and is more likely to have this event going on than Europe
This is fantastic! Great job, guys. Definitely worth of attention. The tormentor's voice somehow reminds me "The Director" from Manhunt. I'd like to suggest you something: give the protagonist voice. This will make him living and breathing...

I do hope the character talks in the real game though. They may have did it to simulate "You", but not having a reflection in the mirror or a voice was somehow distracting me...

looks amazing but at this point I am too fed up on hyping on these. They mostly either fail or fail to deliver. Of course I hope this one would make it but, why I would want to reach upon the stars when it has been crushed multiple times already. Let's just see once it's out.

Unreal Engine 4 is a great engine, too bad all the games using it that are currently out have either shit graphics although ARK has really good graphics, all the others like Killing floor 2, Battleground, Dead By Daylight, Conan Exiles are acceptable for 2016/2017 but they aren't that amazing, there are better looking games out there. The Works of Mercy looks insane though O_O
