Good review, nice results! I *love* this line. I happened upon it at Sally's while looking for something else. I bought it mainly because it's *coconut free* & I have curly, coily hair that really shrinks. I didn't expect the great results I got. I did get more elongated, bouncier, moisturized, well defined curls that lasted longer than usual. The shampoo has great slip & the leave in & pudding work great together for my wash n go. I wish the shine butter wasn't so gritty. So glad SM finally offered a coconut free line, I had given up on them.
I am so glad to hear that the line worked for you. I think it is really cool to have the option to style your hair more stretched than usual so it sounds like this is a really good line for you to have in your stash.

Yes I love this line !! I couldn’t find anything that elongates and keep my 4b low porosity curls moisturized all day. Not only did this do the trick it stayed for 2 days!! I used the leave in, hair milk, curly smoothie and shea butter to seal.
I swear Shea Moisture come out with a new line every other week!! I can’t keep up!

Your hair came out beautiful! That side with the styling gelee really looks nice and moisturized. I used the orange Shea Moisture line when I first went natural, and I used to love it! I've stuck to Design Essentials Almond and Avocado and raw shea butter for the past 6 months but your results make me want to try this line.
Funny story. I bought this for my son who has 4a type hair. It works beautifully. I on the other hand am only a 3a on a good day. I tried it out for giggles AND IT MADE MY CURLS TIGHTER! So yeah, I love this stuff!
Hair looks really good. When a product claims to elongate it never happens for me.
I haven’t tried many elongating products because I never had faith that they would work. I figured I would give this one a shot though lol. Maybe one day there will be a line that does help because it would be cool to switch it up from time to time.

I dont see how a product could even get away with claiming that. Shrinkage is inevitable.

Great video. You got beautiful results! I don’t feel like any products will drastically elongate curly hair, at least it won’t for my hair. There are definitely products that will loosen my curl pattern a little bit, like this Shea Moisture Line did for you, Kenya, but it won’t necessarily elongate may hair noticeably. Again your hair looked beautiful (it always does) and keep up the amazing work!💖

You had better results than me 😩 I guess I'll have to use it in a twist out because I hated it in a wash and go. The gelee felt like it wasn't supposed to be paired with the other products. It beaded up in my hair too and once my hair dried my hair felt extremely thirsty and I had little white flakes. Thanks for sharing love. ❤️

Great review as usual! Did see the difference with the gelee so might try this one. In my natural hair journey initially, trying new techniques out, I had used eco for a twist out, too stiff for me. It's nice you give a honest review however it comes. Didn't realize you were tailbone, wow!

Great video and detail as usual. So what determines whether or not if a conditioner/leave-in will be a good base?
Thank you! For me a good leave in is lightweight enough that I can layer other products on top but still very moisturizing and helps smooth my hair down so my styling products don't have to do so much work.
Looks so Yummy and moist! You always do a nice job. Can you try on dry old hair.. That may give it more of a stretched result! Great video Bonita!

Thank you so much! I usually don't style my dry hair because my hair is so fine it results in too much breakage. I think using this line (or any other line really lol) with a hooded dryer instead of air drying would help with a more stretched style. What is your favorite Shea Moisture line?

I think it was a great idea to put the styling gelee on half of your hair for comparison. I would love to try the leave-in! 😍
Thank you. In the end I am really glad I did too so that you all could see the difference. And the leave in could be a great money saving product because it serves two purposes, a rinse out and a leave in!

Good review, your hair is beautiful. I liked the pudding as well, it felt very moisturizing as I was applying it. As you said, I thought the gelee felt weird when I applied it too. I felt like the gelee was stripping away all the moisture. My hair was soft when it dried, but it flaked very badly.

Nice video, beautiful hair. I’m actually looking for a new line off product. I usually use TGIN line, but I’ve noticed that my scalp is always reddish (when I use other products it’s not) and the rince out condition doesn’t work that well for me anymore. I am going to have to look at your old reviews before I go shopping.

This dried out my hair :( so sad, and it did not clump my curls. I have a full jar of it. I love their jbco leave in. I’ll try it out once more in a twist out. Some products works best as twist outs for me.

TFS! Did you have lasting moisture? Was your hair filmy after some time? The pudding looks really thick!
As a guy with curly 3C-4A Thick Hair about ear length I've been trying to find the perfect products for my hair. I currently use the Shea Moisture coconut hibiscus hold & shine line. While they are good my biggest issue is skringage, lack of defintion in my curls in the front & crown of my head, & the worst of them all frizz. No matter what I do to it seems my curly wash n go fro won't last the whole day. So I'll be trying this line next. Any tips. Edit: Should I use my regular Curl & Shine Conditioner in the shower. I like to pick my hair with the conditioner in it & then rinse it out. Should I apply the leave in or rinse out conditioner when I get out the shower.
I noticed when your hair was twisted, the side with the Gelee looked more define than without side. I had a feeling when you twist out, that was the definition side!!! Your Hair is Beautiful!!!

Honestly this stiff really makes my hair soft and feel really great! Cuban and black mix and my hair is really hard to tame and this really worked for me
I just tried this I didn’t have the gel but it did not define my hair it looks dry and didn’t elongate

Hey! I have never used it but with anything DIY or new that I put in my hair I would say just research it as much as you can and then if you feel like it is okay for you test a small section of hair before doing a treatment on your whole head. I hope this helps 😊

I'm confused, why are you twisting your hair if you already have a defined curl pattern?
I saw one of those products have wax in it, so I could not use it since I am using the Curly Girl Method. :-(

Lol, thank you! It took some time and even when they were little baby twists I would just throw them in a little bun to get them out the way haha.
Is this line good for wash n gos?
I haven't used it in a wash and go yet, but if I had to speculate I would think that it would do well since the line is so moisturizing. However, I would use another gel to replace the gelee in this line for a wash and go.

so it didn't stretch it? the shrinkage looks the same but the moisture is on point.
It stretched it just a liiiittle bit more than usual but not enough to make a difference, lol. I will continue to use this line for the moisture and definition it gave though.

Their coming out with too many products. Their not giving customers a chance to get use to get slower. Especially when most of their products have the same ingredients.

Me: Ok so I'll admit ur hair does look kind of good but like ur hair said in my opinion just do the whole head of ur hair then do it from side to side mainly cause it looks to me as though it were halfway done not trying to be rude there but ur hair needs all that action otherwise I'm still left with questions here n there ur hair does look good long gawd I'm jelly because I been dying to try and get that nice calm long haired look for my precious hair cause it likes to get nice n wild and be all up in the air or some shit n I'm like motherfucker what happened to me and theres the other problem when I wake up in da morning my hair is all over da place have u ever seen a legendary pokemon zapdos look like a bleeping star m k maybe not n u prolly don't know that pokemon but if u looked dat up n thought about that, that's it looks n that's hilarious but of course good old fashioned shea moisture coconut castor oil did some of the job to knock it back down by a peg or too I just wont sacrifice the shampoo and conditioner because it killed off the frizz back down by a lot n the hair was easily maintainable but the leave in conditioner n smoothie still left my hair with some hair strands but its good for curly hair if you read the back instructions you know its good for you even if it aint heat styled just don't put it on ur hair if its pirmed that's a massive no no coming from me you have to be sum kind of expert to figure that shit out but this video seems to be a nice cure to hair going nuts all over the place because its constantly growing out so I'm like well shit maybe I need to let it grow some more while adding that sucker on to my hair so it can grow down n plus my prolly gonna need to be shined to death well not exactly but still your looks lovely though just makes sure its not entirely dried cause it sorta looks like that but I could be blind. T.T
