I would love it if you can make a video or possibly a series on how you digitize your patterns on illustrator for beginners. (i.e. digitizing a basic sloper, printing tiled pages, etc)
I LOVE the dress BUT THE CUT OUT IN THE LEG IS ON THE OTHER SIDE NOOOOO it zeemed that is didnt flow as good as it would be cause the left sice bottom was cut outtt oh my Godddds
Goes to show that the artist will always be more critical to their art than others will, you've stared at it so long that you notice all the flaws. I would not have noticed, this dress is jaw dropping!

Nice! I spent the whole day today getting a gown ready to sew for a client. I am not at a place where I can do what you are doing so quickly. Close, but not quite! But as a multi-prototype person too...I just can't do stuff fast. Drives me a little crazy. Every time I think I can get something done "quick", final time is usually 2-4 times longer than I thought it was gonna be. Anyway, thanks again for the video, and especially your sense of humor. You almost always make me laugh! :)
i am LIVING for how you styled this high chic moment with your bangs. I thought the texture being a litle more traqsnparent looked very elevated and refined for how this garment wqas constructed. i thought this was a very editoral chic glamourous aubrey hepborn moment or breakas at tiffanies and was very inspiured when you hiit the wallk .
if you just never stopped showing this garment to people eventually you can get it into a window in dubai it is seriously that elegant dont think iot goes nezt to prom dresses....
to get more space for the base of the fingers of the glove, outline the middle finger, move right half a finger over, outline the ring finger, move right half a finger over, outline the little finger and continue down the wrist then go back to the middle finger, move it left half a finger towards the index finger and outline it. the thumb won't need any help. It will leave extra fabric over the knuckles but will give you extra fabric to make the seam.
i like this type of challenge video! you could also make a video about making those changes to the arm holes and cutout lining to show how to alter your finished garments :)
I never done a dress so I went to Joan fabric got a pattern and made a dress for my wife her friends loved it I didn’t believe it would be hard and omg it was harder than redoing a tattoo that someone has ruined , I am an artist like you but I tattoo what you do looks easy only bc you are very good. Much respect I will stay in my lane . But will do more bc it was fun. Thanks for your video.
Would love a video about the various stitches on a sewing machine and what settings you should be using!! When you were saying about using a small zig-zag stitch for example, I've never really known when/how I should be adjusting the length/width and all that x

Pattern-making question: once you illustrated the cutouts, I’m assuming you added seam allowance off camera? Any time a seam ends right under the armpit (or waistline) I struggle with the construction. It’s sorta like the Mugler bodysuits with the immaculate mesh cutouts. I’m desperate for any pattern tips and/ or construction strategies.

Not to be extra annoying but is it a 2 or 4 way stretch fabric for the dress?😊 Apologies if you answered that in the video but I’d imagine a 4 way stretch would be ideal, especially for the gloves… I’ve made a few pairs of gloves over the years and i always get the best results with a 4 way stretch fabric. Unfortunately even the priciest fabrics from Joanns only come in 2 way stretch (at least in my area)
i think for the strips on the cut outs, instead of changing them to black velvet, it may be better to just put a black elastic on the hem??? its gonna give the same effect but not be different from the rest of the dress, cause it being all the same pattern its very aesthetically satisfying in my opinion
Actually it would cause the same issue- the issue is that the edge when folding the patterned velvet over is textured. So whether o do the strips or fold over the edge of the regular dress it will still looks textured
