    Wow, well done Alex Aldren, you will make it to the Met. I will look forward to seeing you,
    Great job on the piano Maya. This is my favorite Neopolitan song. I favor versions by Franco Corelli, Mario Lanza and Sergio Franchi. May they rest in peace. Thank you for posting.

      If he develops the technique he's using, he will ruin his voice. He needs to change his technique completely.
      He is singing with low soft palate and head voice. He needs to develop his chest voice and relax his neck and jaw.

      @@celibidache1000 I have seen many of your comments on these videos and I must say you come across as very arrogant and condescending. These are young developing artists. You cannot expect their technique to be perfect. They are on a journey to discover their ideal tone and manner of production. Saying that someone will “ruin” their voice is an irresponsible and uncalled for mischaracterization. Do you realize how reading something like that could affect the development of a young singer? This is not constructive criticism, in fact, it is DESTRUCTIVE.

    You sure do have a great voice. My tip would be to not pay so much attention to the teacher. You know what to do. Listen to the 1971 Tokyo recording of this by Franco Corelli. His phrasing and timing, also pronunciation, is unmatched. You could easily be just as good. Congratulations!

    I kind of liked it better the before than the after... I could understand the text better and that's a huge deal because it has to do with how you produce your vowels... vibrato was also better and freer before. I see maybe jaw tension? pushing the jaw forward sometimes? I dont know... also, this is meant to help not to criticize... great voice anyway

    A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE....IT CAN BE A WONDERFUL ,DIVINE, AVERAGE OR ACCEPTABLE ONE, BUT ALL THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SINGING ART. WHEN YOU ATTACK THE NEAPOLITAN REPERTORY OR SIMPLY A SONG YOU MUST "SPEAK IT" AND FOR THAT YOU NEED "TRUTH" AND THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THE "WORDS". THIS TENOR NEEDS TO LEARN THE ITALIAN SOUNDS AND THEN TO FIND HIS LIBERTY. IT`S NOT AN EASY TASK AND DEMANDS A LOT OF WORK AND HONESTY. THIS TENOR WITH HIS VERY GOOD INSTRUMENT IS "STILL" A MACHINE OF PRODUCING SOUNDS WITH NO MEANING JUST TO SHOW HIS VOICE BUT IN FACT HE DOESN`T LIVE IT, MEANING "FEELING IT" OR BETTER "BEING IT".....FOR ACHIEVING THIS YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE AND WORK IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT WAY. ONCE AN ARTIST UNDERSTANDS THIS HIS LIFE CHANGES AND NOT ONLY FOR SINGING BUT FOR LIFE ITSELF AS WELL.

    • @tenoremodernotecnicavecchi2151
      @tenoremodernotecnicavecchi2151 3 года назад +1

      As a Sicilian, I completely agree. Italian songs, when done right, should almost sound like you’re speaking them. In order to achieve this one must sing freely and as you said, know what you’re singing. The Italians do it easier because they understand the music and often have a connection with it. One cannot simply transfer to Italian songs and expect to do it correctly, just like you cannot expect to instantly master lieder.
