Great video, thanks! Lack of RUclips Music support was the one thing that almost kept me from purchasing my Forerunner 265 recently, this was obviously a welcome surprise! One tip that got me, you must have Notification permissions (Android) configured for the Gamin Connect App on the phone in order to get the prompt to enter the code generated from your watch.
Works great. I find the overall interface and process of RUclips to be superior - so far - to Amazon Music, which is what I’d been using up til now. Really liking RUclips Music on my Epix for sure…. 👍🏻
There's no way people are enjoying it. You can't even actually view your real music library. Just random Playlists it seems like. Can't view your tracks, can't view albums, can't view artists.
I use Apple Music on my iPhone and find it way more convenient to listen through the phone and just have the watch control it. Yes, I have to take my phone when I go running but I do anyway. Still a good additional feature though!
I mean I use RUclips Music and I will almost always bring my phone on a run because it's already set up there and it's easier, I can control it through the headphones, but it's nice to have this option. It's installed now but not sure I'll ever use it, I'd rather the phone battery take the hit :)
I used to do the same, but that was when I was just running. The day I started training, to do 5k and 10k under 20 and 45 respectively, I quickly stripped off every unnecessary thing, which in my case was just a 6.5 inch phone.

Fenix 6 still rocking, its still the top Notch of their watches and it’s not supported? Garmin if by the summer does not come out with something i’ll switch to any other brand for good
As a Pixel watch owner, I can answer this. You have to clear the entire memory and redownload everything. It's beyond frustrating and Google just keeps ignoring this request. Instead, they made the like/dislike buttons smaller. 🤦🏽♂️
I just found out that Garmin (at least the 255 series) now has an option to remove songs. 1) Press and hold the Down button (lower left). 2) Press the Up button (middle left). 3) select RUclips Music with the Start/Stop button (upper right). 4) Tap the Down button until you reach Remove, then the Start/Stop button. 5) Press the Start/Stop button again to select Remove music. 6) Use the Up or Down button to find a playlist/album you want to delete. 6) Tap the Start/Stop and then again to remove the album/playlist.
You need to speak to the issue of different profiles. Current issue is once connected to the app and a profile it's not showing any music on the library.. Dono how to fix

Can't wait for the forerunner 945 compatibility. I don't see any reason it shouldn't be compatible with every music capable watch. This is literally the best feature to date for me

Does listening to a podcast on your watch during a run mark the podcast as watched on RUclips Music when you get back to your computer? Also, if I don't finish the podcast during my run, does it sync the play position so I can resume back on my computer? Thanks!
Thank you. My suggestion to Garmin would be a basic “remote control” feature similar to Suunto to simply control whatever music program is open on your phone. I rarely run without mine, making the download feature not useful.
Nah, not for action. Just for shooting stuff. So I shoot most things outside of my studio with it, from b-roll of bike computers while riding, to watches while running, and then any sort of on-site stuff (like the Apple WWDC stuff, Zwift stuff, etc...).
I use several hairbands in my ultra running setup. One on each folding pole to keep them snug when folded. A long one to keep my re-usable cups attached to my vest. Another to hold down the end of my poles quiver. And a few more just attached to the vest for various needs.
Same here. I have a decathlon backpack and I have lost the front straps over the years. The "temporary" solution is a couple of hairbands and those double wired twist ties from bread bags 😀
Do you plan on addressing the issues tons of Garmin users are seeing using the Elevate v4 HR sensor after software updates, not initial release. If you look in the forums you will see major issues with HR detection for FR 165, 265, 965, Fenix 7, Epix. Are there plans to retest these devices with recent firmware updates and see if the devices are now 10-20 beats of a HRM for even simple activites.
I somehow knew before I opened this video that my Fenix 6S Pro wouldn’t make the cut 😢 I’ve been holding off upgrading my watch because I’d like to get the next gen at the start of it’s life rather than than buying a current Fenix/Epix which can’t have many months left but I want RUclips Music on my watch 🤯
I like how there is more competition out there for Garmin. This way they will feel pressure to hurry and work on apps and features on it. Although I feel Garmin is a great watch as it is..
How on earth can Garmin release a watch between 1000-1200€ and not even allow buyers to use RUclips Music. Yes, the Connect IQ probably needs to be updated for the Fenix 8, but why hasn't this happened yet? I don't buy a car and only get the wheels mounted 4 weeks later? The app is really bad at the moment. Just seems to randomly display random Playlist, can't even view my actual library, can't even see exactly what I'm downloading to my watch. Can't view by artist, can't view by track, not by album. I can't remove what's displayed, I can't choose what's displayed. Why even bring the app in such a bad state.
I abandoned Deezer/Spotify because sometimes when going out to work out the watch would sync before it could play anything and waiting to go out is not my thing. Now run downloaded mp3s instead.

Ah I got the non music 255 partially because Garmin didn't have RUclips music... Oh well. I generally listen to audiobooks through Libby on like 80% of my runs and I like to have live track enabled anyway.
I have all my playlists set on a brand account. Unfortunately it seems it is impossible to switch to a brand account when connecting to a google account. So... I cannot use it :/

I tried it on my 965 and gave up. Will not download the entire playlist. I keep getting a 503 error. Driving me crazy. Looking at the comments looks like a me issue.
Strange, I just completed it on the FR965 about 2 minutes ago. A 503 error typically means that your phone is actually having issues connecting to the RUclips servers to download the music (e.g. being blocked somehow, such as by a VPN or no connectivity, etc...).
Shame that YT music bitrate stinks. It makes no difference on the Garmin, of course, but hard to justify premium price up against Amazon which offers much better quality downloads. Maybe it gets fixed soon. Maybe never.
@@kumyeinc They updated the app a while back and now it syncs. It's just slow. It also consumes battery, even if you aren't actively using it. I know w/ YT video, there's a limit to the # of devices authorized, could be the case w/ YTM. I found it easier to take my phone honestly & just stopped using the app

I think they have support for other watches in the works. The new FR 165 Music isn't supported either so it'll probably just be a matter of time!

RUclips music app was added by Google not Garmin. It's the matter of Apple if they add their app

Impossible to sync! I already contacted Garmin support as well RUclips support without sucesso. They just push the problem to the other side!!

Got RUclips music on my Garmin 965. Plays fine. Now I can't figure out how to remove the songs that were downloaded onto my watch.

Tip: I had to restart my watch to get it to actually download music.
Make sure you have notifications on for Garmin Connect so the screen to enter code appears.

I never get the push notification to link the accounts. And I checked to make sure my watch is compatible (Epix gen 2)

You are paying a premium price for RUclips’s video content. The music is a secondary benefit.
I don't use playlists so it's of limited usefulness to me. I want to search for albums in my Library and add them.
